It's been a minute since I wrote a review, I've been "low carbing". It's been many many years since I've eaten anything from Silver Bay, I am not a seafood person. I did enjoy an early dinner at Silver Bay in Easley with my cousin from Memphis TN, other family and friends. They do have low carb options, I kind of stepped off a little. I ordered the grilled chicken breast(1) over rice pilaf and a salad with a Diet Pepsi to drink. Y'all it was so hard and tempting to eat one of those hush puppies dipped in that honey butter!!! I was STRONG and did not touch them! The grilled chicken was tender with a good flavor and so was the rice pilaf. The restaurant was clean, it wasn't smelling fishy(one of the reasons I had not been there for years), and the service from our waitress was top notch! I had a very enjoyable dinner, and as usual it's always nice to spend time with family. read more

I don't have any complaints. Food was good. Reasonably priced which is surprising now days. And service was attentive. I got the daily special of 12 oz salmon and fries sprimp came with a side and a salad for $17.99. I couldn't eat it all everyone had huge portions. We took my in-laws out to eat for their anniversary and birthdays too. They brought a free slice of cake for both of their birthdays which was awesome for them. My daughter said it was the best Alfredo noodles she's ever had and I have to agree it was amazing. Will def be back for her to get these again. The kids loved the fish tanks in the restaurant. They serve free hush puppies which are amazing and with butter. I will mention my husbands steak was not good at all. I think they just don't get ordered much here is stick with seafood or the Alfredo, no steak. They have great flaky French fries. read more

We were in town visiting family and they suggested we go to Sliver Bay Seafood. Service was friendly. Love all the decorations in and around the restaurant. We all thought the food was great! We also thought the pricing was very reasonable. Each entree had a lot portions and was very tasty. I got the Sunday special Baby Fried Shrimp with coleslaw and fries. Very good! My wife got the 12oz Grilled Salmon with sweet potato fries. She said it was really good and would definitely get it again. My mom got the 24oz grilled salmon. She said here was good and couldn't eat it all. My sister and her husband said they loved what they got and would definitely be back! Oh by the way; the dessert were very good! I got the strawberry cheese cake and my wife got the Italian rum cake. Both desserts were really good and delicious! Definitely recommend the desserts as well! read more

Our waitress Tabitha was on point! She was so very helpful and didn't mind all our craziness! All of the food was incredible! The portions and prices were awesome! I know next time I'm back in town I'll be going back here! The only downfall , which surprised me , was the crab cakes are not homemade. All the other food you could tell was fresh and house made but the crab cakes weren't. Still good but I like fresh crab cakes. (Just my personal opinion). Over all the restaurant was beautiful inside, the food was fantastic, and the waitress went above and beyond! See ya next year! This was the worst experience I have had at a restaurant in a very long time. We ordered off the menu and the server did not my explain that a loaded baked potato was a $2.79 up charge over the cost of a regular potato or that they charge an extra $2.79 if you select a salad as one of your side orders with a meal. After the sever left the bill, and I saw the charge, she disappeared so I could not ask her about the charges. I asked the cashier for the manager which she went to get. He was on the defensive from the start and said the salad up charge was listed on the menu and it was up to the customer to notice it and that they always charged extra for a loaded baked potato as opposed to a regular potato. My response was that I expected a good waitress to inform me of any up charges before finalizing my order. He didn't respond and offered to take a couple dollars off my bill if I promised to come back, but that he would not eliminate all the up charges. I declined, took the bill away from him and told him I would not be back. Concerning the food quality, the baked potatoes were cold and the cheese on top was melted and cold like it had been made up several hours in advance. The bacon was n one cold lump that I broke up with my fork. My calabash shrimp was just ok and my wife's chicken tenders were very sub par. I definitely will not go back and will let everybody in Easley know what a bad experience I had. Really frustrating, but I learned a lesson and life goes one. Really wanted some fish so we decided to check out this local fish place. We went at an odd time so it wasn't very busy. We were seated by the Hostess. She was not very enthusiastic-like her mama made her come to work. Thankfully, our server, Shannon, made up for that. She was extremely friendly. She welcomed us as she brought hush puppies to our table and got our drink order. The hush puppies were more fingerling instead of round. They were on the sweeter side and arrived at the table warm. They were good. The hubby ordered the Blooming Onion. If we would have realized how big it was we would probably have ordered smaller entrees. It was enough for 4 people! The dip that went with it -some sort of ketchup, mayo, dill, horseradish concoction - had a little bit of a kick but it was yummy. I couldn't decide on one thing so I ordered the Broiled Seafood Platter with Rice Pilaf and Cole Slaw. This platter was a great way to get a sampling of several dishes. (Deviled crab, jumbo shrimp, flounder fillet, select oysters and stuffed clams) The hubby chose the Fried Flounder with Okra and Collard Greens. He enjoyed his meal. He said the best part of the meal was the collard greens. He's a collard greens connoisseur. :-) The space was large- a lot of seating. The murals on the wall and the decor made it the perfect setting for a seafood restaurant. The food was not spectacular but it was good. read more

Silver Bay is spacious on the inside and well decorated. Takes you on a time travel to 2003 though. The Hushpuppies are crispy on the inside and soft on the inside, 4/5 Blooming onion is crunchy, onion is soft on the inside, and the sauce is zesty, a decent pairing, although the onion breading could be lighter, 3/5. Holy Crap there's an absurd amount of shrimp in the po boy here, for $10.99 too, absolutely a feast there, however po boy has nice toasted roll, veggies are fresh, fries were fresh, and Cole slaw tastes good. 4/5. All for $21, it's a pretty solid price for the amount of food. read more

I trained at this restaurant for one day, one 6.5 hour shift. While training I saw how disgusting this restaurant really is, people making salads with their hands they have touched anything and everything with. The stagnant gross water you have to walk in through the kitchen, all kinds of food in the water on the kitchen floor. Cooks cooking food with nasty hands, and on top of it all the manager Louis stole money from me. I've been told by cops, past employees and customers that he is a liar and a terrible manager. I worked from 3pm - 9pm, I came back three days later to pick up my check from training and was told " you only worked three hours so you aren't getting paid". I asked to talk to Louis and told him I worked from 3-9 the paycheck I should have received would be $43, after telling him multiple times how long I worked I was handed $13. I was told my shirt I wore for 6 hours was $30, yet I was given no notice of this prior to working. I went back with my shirt to return for my $30 and was told by Louis that he doesn't have to give me my money and he doesn't want the shirt. After going back and forth he called the police, the cop agreed that it was wrong and I deserved my $30 and that I can take this to court. Taking this to court just isn't worth it for $30, I was then told this wasn't the first time this has happened and it was wrong. I hope no one else has to deal with the childish, unprofessional manager. Be aware of the food you are eating from there, it is handled with disgusting hands and in a disgusting environment. read more

BRING A JACKET !! The restaurant keeps it very cold (uncomfortably so) as that is the way the staff likes it, I was told. As we perused the extensive menu, our waitress dropped off a bowl of complimentary hush puppies. Portions are huge. I enjoyed the well seasoned fried grouper and nice crisp green salad. The clam chowder was watered down with very little clams or potatoes and lukewarm. Hubby had the calabash chicken salad and that was very good too. This was the first time we have visited a silver bay. We enjoyed the atmosphere but the food was nothing special. Fried food is just plain fried, besides I think the catfish I ordered wasn't catfish. Flavorless do not recommend the rice pilaf or the fettuccine Alfredo as both had not the right flavor at all, the fettuccine Alfredo was more like a white cream sauce not even close to an Alfredo which was disappointing . Let me start off by saying this...For several years, we ate at this restaurant every single Sunday after church. It was also not uncommon for us to eat there one other time throughout the week or at least grab dinner through the take out room. Roughly 3 years ago around Covid time, we went in to eat and when we got our bill, it was grossly higher. I noticed that there was a charge on the bill to add cheese and bacon on a salad. One would not consider that to be inappropriate except for the fact that the charge was just under $3 and on top of that the amount that was given was embarassing at best. After that day, I told my wife that we would not be returning to eat there. In the last 3 years, we literally went one time until tonight. My wife wanted to go and so we went with some friends. The food was ok at best as a whole. The chicken was not good at all and then I had a part to the drink machine turn up in my drink that I was drinking. Not the end of the world but a little gross nonetheless. On top of it, I found it rather inappropriate to have the manager kind of chuckle about it. I'm not that unreasonable to think that it couldn't happen by accident, but it's definitely not something to laugh about. So, when we went to check out, the manager started asking us what drinks we each had. I didn't think much about it until she said, well, your bill went up because your server didn't put the drinks on your bill. I hadn't looked at the bill at all because we were chatting away with friends. After thinking about it, I found it pretty ridiculous that the check was micro-managed to that extent after it was given to us and especially in light of the fact that there was something in my drink. The owners son came out and made a big deal about the fact that if the servers didn't put the drinks on the bills, he would lose all kinds of money. Not once did he say anything or apolagize that there was something in my drink. On top of it, he got very angry and walked off when I was trying to communicate with him. Our family spent at least $100 in their restaurant every single week for numerous years...that's over 5K a year which would have been over 15K over the last 3 years that we haven't been in their restaurant. I guess the 2.79 for cheese and bacon is worth it? Here's what I do know...."Pigs get fat and HOGS GET SLAUGHTERED". Long story short is that they are charging a ridulous amout of money on so many things....upcharge on a caesar salad is nearly $5 (that's even to change from a sald that's included to a caesar salad), to load a bake potato is 2.79, add cheese and bacon to a salad is 2.79 and they are also charging 3.5% if you don't pay cash. All of that is grossly excessive but it is the way the owners son treated us this evening that will ensure that we never come to this restaurant again. (He said he didn't know who we are but I can assure you that his mother knows who we are when she sees us). Our recommendation is to go to the many other places here in Easley that are much more reasonable and will treat you much better and not rob you blind on excessive charges. read more

Right from the start I fell in love of this place. The decor and wall paintings make you feel like you are at a beachside restaurant. Waterfalls soothing sound in the background adds to that feeling. For starters we git clam chowder soup, was ok but served Luke warm. The Shrimp Cocktail was good as they were large shri.p, cocktail sauce given in a seperate squeeze bottle. Word to the wise, container on tables are NOT old Bay seasoning but cinemas amon for their baked sweet potatoes.......it is not marked! Salad was a nice evening cold, crispy mix of greens with shredded carrots, red onions, tomatoes and cucumbers, no complaints there. Unfortunately the main course was a huge let down. I got the broiled delight with Shrimp, stuffed clam & crab, oysters & Tilapia. Shrimp was the only thing with flavor. Everything else was completely bland, no real difference between the stuffed clam or crab. Oysters tasted old, I was so dissapointed because it looked good and stopped there. We waitted 30 minutes to ORDER our drinks. Then, my accomplice ordered cheese. She had to ask 3 times, and waited 30 minutes for a bowl of cheese! Then, my gorgeous granddaughter had to go up to the FRONT DESK and ask for more drinks because we got ignored the first 2 times!!! This place is so slow, and the food is NOT worth it! Unless you want to wait forever for basic stuff, DON'T COME HERE! They didn't even shred her chicken in her salad and just gave her BIG STRIPS! For a salad??? I think not! Our family goes here a lot and everything that we come here it is always great. The service is very good although sometimes we have to wave down a waitress for refills. The seafood here Is awsome and has a lot of flavor, however the serving sizes are enormous, but I'm not complaining. Over all the food is great and the food comes out pretty fast. One of the first things I have to say about this place is that you get your monies worth in food. We never leave without full bellies and several to-go boxes. The food is well prepared and as many times as my family has eaten there, only a couple of times was the service sub-par. The prices are good and ambiance has a nice family feel to it. The only thing is, I wish they had more broiled or even grilled items. I know most southerners like fried food, but this one prefers grilled. They also have a to-go counter in the back that you can order out from. The family of 6(which I have)meal is only $30 and you get enough fish and/or chicken strips, baby shrimp, their awsome hush puppies, and sides to feed an army! Plus a gallon of tea! This is our favorite "last minute" or "need a seafood fix" restaurant! Several other reviewers complained about a lack of broiled seafood, but the menu introduced a few months ago has about a 50/50 split between broiled and fried, plus you can request anything broiled. Great family atmosphere, good value, freshly prepared food. Easily feeds both of us for $30 every time (before tip). Owner stops by the tables regularly, and the staff is quick to get something you need or fix any issue. Love those hush puppies read more

The restaurant is well decorated with mini ships and ocean wallpaper. There is also a glass waterfall. Upon being seated, complimentary hushpuppies are served. The hushpuppies and food in general is very mediocre, and our waitress had a dirty shirt on. On the upside, you can get a lot of food for cheap. I called Silver Bay to place a to go order. The first person I spoke to sounded a little confused when I placed my 1st order because when I asked for the total she could be heard asking someone else how to enter the top sirloin & shrimp scampi. Almost 5 minutes later a female came onto the line and said "This is Courtney". I told her I was holding for a total and she said it would be $38 which was $10 from what my order should've been based on Silver Bay's menu. I told her since I did not get the price advertised on the Super Specials of Easley menu I wanted to order something else and she said it was too late the order was cooking and that she needed to ask George??? She came back to the line again my wait was 5 minutes or more and said he gave her the ok for me to order something else. I ordered the combination with jumbo shrimp & fried oysters and off the everyday special the grilled chicken & jumbo fried shrimp. Again I asked for the total only because I wanted to make sure my total was correct and there were no discrepancies. This time I was on hold for more than 10 minutes before Courtney came back to the line. She repeated the order before giving me the total but when she repeated the order it was all wrong so I politely said to her I wanted to cancel the order due to the fact its obvious they were really busy and I had spent over 30 minutes on the call and my order was still incorrect. Too bad I didn't get my sentence out because as soon as she heard "cancel" she hung up in my face! I work with people everyday so i definitely understand sometimes you can get very frustrated but not once was I rude. I've ordered to go more than once from Silver Bay and I've been over charged or more order was completely wrong so forgive me if not I take precautions when placing my orders now. Funny that I currently live in Florida, yet when I come too visit family up in Easley, we always go to SILVER BAY . You'd think I'd be fickle , being close to many Sea Food Restaurants down here .
