Clam chowder soup ( looks bland)
    Ellen P.

Met a friend here for lunch first time here. Well the place was clean and the restroom was clean . Staff not to friendly, seems like they all rather be somewhere else. The food was okay, they have nothing baked or broiled. So if you can't eat fried food this place isn't for you! Since, I can't eat fried foods....... I got a house salad lettuce, cucumbers, shredded cheese and rotten cherry tomatoes. Dressing that's restaurant quality, comes in small cups not even homemade and had a funny taste . They have no vinaigrette dressings. Clam chowder soup was okay, not great but okay. Would i recommend this place no. But each to there own everyone has different opinions. Would I take my family here to eat no. The other thing is watch your bills when they come out and make sure what you ordered is on the bill our bill came out with a bunch of stuff that we didn't order was in the bill. The waitress oh sorry we got you bill mixed up with another table. Really, pay attention people!

Thoroughly enjoyed my build your own combo selection. By all means try the LEMON PEPPER sauce. It was delightful and a perfect complement to my combo selections. Their hushpuppies are quite good! My son has the Seaquench ale--tart, citrusy and paired well with the seafood. My only suggestion? For a CAROLINA SEAFOOD venue, for pete's sake , play CAROLINA BEACH MUSIC--chairmen of the Board, Embers, Swinging Medallions, Tams, etc. but spare us Britny Spears-please. And for the most patient wait person, ask for Journey. She's GREAT!

Ate here before a few years ago and it was good but this time, it was lackluster. We were only the third table at this restaurant when we arrived. It makes zero sense for us to wait an hour for our food (and we ordered three items - no seafood boils). And our server was NO where to be found. Took forever for food, flagging her down to get the check, pick up the check, etc. by this time there was only one additional table. Also look at how much oil that came with the shrimp and grits.

Honestly, all of the staff we encountered were so helpful, I was very impressed. The bar area is first come, first served. The oysters were fresh and I was given the choice for the sizes of them. The mignonettes were absolutely delicious. We also ordered a burger to share so they cut it in half for us and split the side of fries as well. That was the nicest gesture! The burger is made of two smashed patties with American cheese, garlic confit aioli, and diced caramelized onions. Absolutely delicious! The patty was seasoned and tender. The aoili and onions paired so well together. I can't wait to return for this and dinner service. Fries were fresh and crispy. My only complaint is the excess grease was sitting in the bottom of the metal container, so maybe a piece of paper or something at the bottom could help. Coconut espresso martini was also delicious. I don't like coconut, but the flavor of it was very subtle. Definitely will be returning!

Starting with our appetizer, Bang bang Shrimp, (which was so delicious) I knew we were in for a special treat and we were not disappointed. My husband and I split the Grilled Caesar Salad and it was great. His daily special, Fresh Tile Fish (from Florida) left him fully satisfied and he raved about his entree. The Chicken Piccata had delicious flavor and very good. My Seared Tuna was prepared perfectly , as was the Salmon my nephew ordered. Coral had a kid friendly menu for our little Great Nieces and had a good selection. Celebrating of my husband's birthday was finished with a dessert of Sticky Toffee Pudding and my niece ordered Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse bar and it was beyond delicious. Great dinner and a wonderful ambiance. Thank you, Evan for the terrific service.

An amazing patio overlooking one of the main streets of downtown Greenville, with a cozy interior ambiance as well. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable of the local food, drinks and their amazing wine selection. Soby's just won the Wine Spectator Grand Award (highest possible) and a Michelin recommended restaurant for 2025. And it shows. We didn't get any wine this evening, but the menu is as thick as a long novel. Anything and everything is in this puppy. Wines from all over the world, ranging from a few bucks to over $13,000 a bottle. Take your pick. We opted for some beer and cocktails, all of which were perfect. The food. This southern inspired menu with local ingredients was fantastic. We had a spicy pimento cheese app with crispy pita and pickled okra...delish! The beet and goat cheese salad was one of the best we've had. The pic speaks for itself there. The Soby's fried chicken is something you HAVE to get if you go. The best fried chicken, with the best bacon mac n cheese to complement it. Tender and juicy, crispy and flavorful...these words don't even scratch the surface of how good this dish was. Top notch experience all around. Make it a point to try it out if you haven't yet, or if you're in town for a visit. And definitely get that chicken dish, yo won't regret it.

Verdict: Come for the ambience and the white chocolate banana cream pie, stay for the gravy, and…read morehope your eggs don't spend too long in the "spotlight." Soby's serves Southern charm before the food even hits the table. (And if your experience is anything like mine, you will be waiting awhile for the food to hit the table.) Weathered wood beams stretch overhead, brick walls hold decades of character, and the warm lighting makes the whole room glow like butter on a hot biscuit. The kitchen hums with the kind of energy that says brunch is serious business. If you sit upstairs at the loft, there are some seats that overlook the kitchen so it's like brunch and a show. The pecan sticky bun is sweet enough to make you reconsider sharing though I wouldn't know because they ran out of it before 11:00a. Service was friendly and quick on the front end, though the kitchen's food expeditors seemed a little short-handed. The result? A slight wait that left some eggs spending a bit too much quality time under the heat lamps. My Shakshuka dish had an egg-istential crisis. Instead of that luscious over-easy river of yolk, the eggs arrived closer to hard-boiled territory--less "runny brunch bliss" and more "deviled egg audition." Thankfully, our waiter expedited another over easy egg to replace the one that came with my dish. The Providence Farm Country Fried Steak was the undeniable headliner--about 1.5 inches thick and fried to golden perfection. Smothered in sausage gravy, it was the kind of dish that makes cardiologists nervously flip through their calendars. The flavor? Steak-ing its claim as one of the better country fried steaks around. The sunny-side egg, however, had clearly spent a little too long basking beneath the warming lights alongside my shakshuka. But, if you come for one thing only, let it be the white chocolate banana cream pie. As I've heard Southern Belles say in gest, "it'll make you wanna slap your mama." In short: rustic atmosphere, an energetic kitchen, and Southern food that doesn't just butter you up--it grits straight to the point.

The duck was roasted perfectly with the skin, crispy for the texture and seasoned divinely. Yall the potatoes were crispy on the outside, well fluffy like little clouds inside, and had a punch of flavor. The asparagus was rich with a butter and lemon note. If a plate could sing! We had a large party and they accommodated easily with two servers for the whole group. The atmosphere is great, I love the decor and the polished-casual vibe. The bar is so cool (that sliding ladder is what dreams are made of), lots of TVs to watch the game without messing up the chic decor. Indoor and outdoor seating and the bar opens up to the outdoors. The staff is very knowledgeable about their offerings, particularly the tequila. However, a dirty martini is maybe not the bartender's specialty. I was asked if I wanted it dirty, extra dirty, or "nasty." I said just a little bit dirty. It came "nasty." Womp womp. But they do have blue cheese olives, which is a huge plus! The oysters are delicious. Our group got 4 dozen. However, on one of the trays, almost all the ice was melted by the time it reached our table. Also both times I've been, they forget to put little spoons in the sauces that come with the oysters, but they never forget the crackers! For the rest of our meal, I got the shrimp and grits, my partner got the tuna poke bowl, and we split a Caesar salad. My shrimp and grits were delicious, tons of shrimp, nice presentation. Tuna poke bowl was good and the soy sauce was a nice addition. I love a Caesar salad, and the flavors on this one were great, though it was served on a very warm plate which was weird for a salad. Overall, STIR has so much going for it. I really, really want to love this restaurant, but every time I go it's missed the mark on some small but important things. It's new so I think this is just one of those where you've got to keep trying to work out the kinks. Hopefully they'll get there! I'm rooting for you!

Would come again solely for the atmosphere - great indoor/outdoor bar with a lot of TVs. Came here on a busy Saturday evening. The bar is huge so there were plenty of seats available. If I could give this place 5 stars solely because of the raw chef I would! He welcomed us as soon as we sat down, he was super friendly and helped us navigate the menu. Unfortunately, both of our meals fell short of satisfactory. However, the atmosphere was spectacular!! I ordered the Salmon, medium well. It looks incredible in the picture but the inside was cooked rare. The outside edges were edible. It was a wrap once I bit into a piece of bone. As a picky eater, all of this freaked me out and I was no longer interested in the dish. The person I was with ordered the chicken piccata (not pictured). One important note is that her chicken piccata was breaded (fried?) which we both found to be a bit odd, she did not enjoy it. However, our whipped feta appetizer and parm fries were incredible!! Would come back here just for the atmosphere and a quick bite, not for dinner.
