Chicken Parmesan
Cristina G.

The restaurant was remodeled and use to be Bacalhau Grill. It looks beautiful and the market with all the traditional food and ingredients and wine is located on the other side of the wall. The staff are kind and helpful. We decided to come with our family to dinner. The steak platter, steak sandwich and the chicken fingers with the French fries and chicken Parmesan and Bacalhau Gomes Sa were very good. Unfortunately the other dishes needed some help. The pork sandwich was soggy and the marinade was not tasty and pieces of pork were disappointing. It was not the traditional Acorian food. The other steak platter my family found to be chewy. And none of the salads came with dressing and they didn't give us any options. When we asked for Ranch we got Cesar dressing 2 times. Some water glass we were provide were dirty 2 times. We had a reservation but they seemed very unprepared for us and there were only 2 other tables seated. It was unfortunate.

Caipirinha brasileira. Sabor "casa"

Sem dúvida, quem prova volta e indica. Sabor e qualidade Galera do bem e super atenciosos. Parabéns

As a Brazilian, I was looking forward to my meal but I found the meat to be very tough which is not typical of the picanha. The side dishes were tasty. For dessert, I tried the Romeo and Juliet which was well balanced and not very rich. The staff was friendly and there are a lot of options for dishes and sandwiches and other Brazilian street foods which make this a great stop. Next door there is a mini grocery store that sells a lot of Brazilian and Portuguese products. I left at the time when a musician was setting up but it's nice that they are beginning to provide entertainment as well. Lastly, there are several TVs in the restaurant inside and it's very dark. I think customers would be happier with less TVs and more natural lighting. The outside area is pretty but it wasn't set up for sitting. I would love to see the quality of the meat improve so this can become one of my favorite spots.

Great food, great Vibe, great ambiance, great service! Definitely recommend this place!

I knew this place as Bacalhau Grill a while back. It seems they serve the same brazilian and portuguese dishes under this new name. The menu indicates that most items take 15-20 minutes. But my takeout order was ready in no more than 10 minutes, on a slow Monday of course. I ordered the codfish with cream, a truly addicting dish. The taste has not changed, super creamy and buttery, and strangely more affordable than before. It even came with a small side salad. There are a couple things that have changed though. The menus are in English, which makes it so much easier to order. Also, the restaurant is open later, so I can actually grab dinner at dinnertime now (Bacalhau Grill used to close at 4pm). Woohoo! This 5-star review is mainly for the delicious codfish with cream (aka bacalhau de natas) and stress-free takeout experience.

Absolutely terrible. The food little was served was either cold or greasy. Service was equally disappointing--slow and rude. I've had better meals from gas stations. Save your money and go anywhere else.

Gomez de sa

We went shopping for some sweet bread at the supermarket. So we decided to have lunch at Silvas. Normally I would ordered a steak, but today is Friday. So we ordered Coffee fish fritters to start. We ordered Gomes de SA for lunch. The fritters came out quickly, but were served warm. they were tasty.more potato and a little bits of finely shredded cod. It would have been better if it was served hot. the lunch was ok. A small portion of actual bacalhau ,a big scoop rice and a small salad. It was a little dry for my taste. lm used to it swimming in olive oil. But maybe this is a Brazilian version. For a small restaurant it was crowded. I think most come here for the steak. Which smelled great as it passed by. I'll probably come back on a weekend to try the meat

Portuguese beef and grilled onion chicken

Desserts were amazing, I had the Portuguese beef and my partner had the grilled onion chicken. Would recommend coming here

My family wanted to have dinner somewhere new and I came across this amazing place. Camila, Ronald and Farias helped us and was very patient with us. It was our first time at a steakhouse like this. They were patient and checked on us often. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Thanks to Camila and Ronald we will be back. Thank you for treating us with so much love. 10/10 food it was excellent.

I absolutely love what they have done with the space. Every meat was so delicious. My favorite was the picanha, soft and it just melts in your mouth. The lamb was amazing, the pineapple was so juicy and tasty. The service was superb! Definitely coming back again.

Too long waiting; I sat for a long time until get my orders; no water served and I needed to ask for it about three times. No utensils served until asked for. I ordered a plate of Cod but wasn't amazed by it. A bit dry and not much flavor. The juices are great (I have the "cajá " and it was super delicious). The plate of picanha and creamy cod were really good - definitely worth it. The place is ok, clean and no fancy. Very casual and cozy with live music on some Fridays. Price for the plates were good, but not for a one small single rissole that cost $3.00

When we first went, the restaurant was running special promotions--$49.99 per person for the dinner buffet and a Wagyu steak for two (with the full all-you-can-eat buffet included) for $155. We tried both during two separate visits, and the food was so delicious we couldn't resist coming back the very next weekend. (According to the restaurant, these promotions have since ended, but the quality of the food makes it worth visiting regardless.) The service was equally impressive. Felipe, the manager/host, was welcoming, patient, and very thorough in explaining the menu. Our server, Lays, was outstanding as well--she made our anniversary dinner feel so special and even surprised us with a complimentary dessert. Food-wise, the ribeye, sirloin, filet mignon, and garlic shrimp were my favorites--perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The grilled pineapple and fried bananas added the perfect sweet touch. On our second visit, we ordered the Wagyu steak, and it was phenomenal: tender, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Even as I write this, I find myself craving it all over again. I highly recommend Show De Carnes under its new ownership--it's one of the best dining experiences we've had in San Jose!

Even the malasadas were underwhelming and if you think they are similar to Leonard's, then this does not come close. For the Portuguese tarts, they were served a bit cold. Overall, the texture and flavor didn't meet expectations. Service was decent but the staff were not friendly. This was a bit of a letdown. You Guava be Kidding Me…read more A bakery and juicery that has been serving up delicious Colombian specialties since 1999 in Colombia, before emigrating to the US and opening up shop here in Cambrian Park in 2014. Milohas (mil hojas) means a thousand layers in Spanish, and one taste of Milohas' pastries will make you understand why they picked that moniker. The Good: * Large shared parking lot * Friendly service * Covered outdoor dining * The crust of the empanadas was buttery, flaky, and delicious. All the fillings were good, but you have to try the Hawaiian filling! It was truly fantastic and had us wishing that's all we'd ordered. * Guava Finger has the same perfect crust and tasty guava jam--I could eat a dozen of these and come back for more. *oink oink* * Carissa really enjoyed their lentil soup. I didn't try it, so I can't comment. The Meh: * I kind of prefer the chunks of meat in Peruvian empanadas to the ground meat in Colombian ones, but that's just a personal preference. It was still delicious, so at the end of the day, it's all academic. The Ugly: * No indoor dining, and outdoor dining is limited to only a handful of seats. I wanted to get some desert items but they seemed to have very few things to choose from. I would have asked questions but inside the store was strangely loud and the woman who helped me was a low talker so I couldn't understand anything she was saying to me as it was. The empanadas are pretty large, as are the prices. $17 for the two. At this price point I was glad I decided not to buy more. Each comes with a tiny side of aji green sauce. They could have been more generous here. I found the spinach to be very salty and more breading than filling. The chicken one was a letdown. Chicken was lacking any flavor. For both the pastry was dry. Was only able to eat half of each and threw the rest away. Not really the kind of place you dine in for. You order at the counter and there is limited seating inside (in a way that makes you not want to dine in), and a few seats outside. Plenty of parking in the shopping center lot. This visit and subsequent review makes me feel sad. I want to support these unique, independent eateries but they make it difficult when the quality doesn't meet the high cost. Improvements would be to reevaluate their recipes, make the pastries less dry and dense, and maybe don't be so skimpy on the fillings.
