The interior is very nice and as I had arrived just after noon I had my choice of tables. I sat by the window for a nice view out onto the street. While I was waiting for my meal I was served a bowl of warm flatbreads (apparently made in-house) and a little bowl of olives. The main course I opted for was adana kofte served with rice and salad. The lamb was cooked on skewers which are then removed before serving leaving two perfect pooh-shaped sausages on the plate. And very tasty it was too despite the slightly off-putting appearance. The salad was very nice and a generous portion too. I just about managed to finish my meal (washed down with a glass of tango) despite the flatbreads almost having filled me up. The bill arrived along with a small, but greatly appreciated, cube of turkish delight. Service and ambiance was excellent, I look forward to returning and trying something a little less pooh-shaped.

As the restaurant only has 40 covers, it is essential that you book on Friday and Saturday evenings especially, otherwise you won't get in! A beautifully-designed restaurant in non-fussy but distinctly Turkish style, the piece-de-resistance has to be the open grill and original Turkish oven, where you can see your food being freshly prepared and cooked before you. Watching them kneading and preparing the bread mixture is rather hypnotic, you need to be careful you don't lose track of time. The menu is simple with a good range of choices for starter, main and dessert. The wine list is, again, simple but offers good choices - nothing too classy, just good-priced clean-tasting wines which will complement your chosen dishes perfectly. I don't think you will find fault with any dish that you choose - but if you haven't tried it before, try one of their guvec (Turkish stew) dishes. Ahhhh yummy!! If you have a special occasion, do let the owner know in advance. It is a family-run restaurant and you definitely get that warm, welcoming feel as you enter - no matter how busy, you'll never know that from the very high service standards. Be warned 'tho - you get "nibbles" while they are preparing your starters - so that, in itself, is always another starter on top of what is heading your way ... make sure you wear elasticated waistbands! Its a family run business that really does pride itself on making you feel welcome once inside. I've traveled quite extensively around Greece and this place really does its best to reflect the hospitality you get out there. We always go there for lunch and have a couple of lamb Souvlakis as it really does take you back to Athens! They do a lot of dishes for two to share at some really good prices. I saw a seafood mixed grill float past me that looked really impressive. Great for large parties but do watch out for the Ouzo - it catches up on you after a few!
