For just £1.80 I picked up a freshly made that day ball of fluffy rice cooked in breadcrumbs with a mozzarella and spinach centre that was about the size of both my fists together (without thumbs). Bringing it over to me, he offered a knife and fork, but said he personally like to "snatch it up in a napkin", With my cutlery poised, I suddenly deviated and went down the napkin route, which proved an incredibly satisfying, clean and spillage free way of munching through my meal... Random details aside, there was a host of food on offer here, which I fully intend to explore further down the line, with iconic Mediterranean dishes like lasagne sitting alongside equally intriguing unknown delights. Its a little small inside, so I was pleased to get a seat out of the cold. But for something to bring home with you, or for a sit down and nibble outside, this place is unparalleled.

Having tasted the food though, this is perhaps the best of the local lunchtime eateries. The menu is based on traditional Sicilian dishes, and delivers superbly on the famous Italian brand. You'll also find that it's a lot cheaper than other deli's, certainly those further in to town. My baguette came in at £2.90, very reasonable. Space is a bit limited, but there is seating inside and out (weather permitting). Perhaps the strongest reason for going here would be the delightfully friendly owner, I can't explain just how sweet he was.

The service was easily 5 stars with the owners being very hospitable, they cared for our every need and often came around to check if we needed anything. Finally the ambiance was really good, the time I went happened to be a busy time and due to the size of the room you often find yourself needing to speak louder however for me that isn't an issue. Everyone in the room seemed to be having a good time. Definitely recommend if you like well priced and good Lebanese traditional food.

The starter is the highlight here - a huge plate of mezze, with plenty of houmous, tabbouleh, tzatsiki, olives, pitta and unusual pastries. I believe this can also be ordered separately as a mixed starter if you're not getting the set menu. The mains are fairly basic but very tasty - with a choice of grills and casserole type dishes. A dessert (I had ice cream, but there were other choices I can't remember now), and authentic coffee are also included. The staff are very friendly and happy to have a chat with you about anything and everything.

Estia is everything a great Greek (Cypriot) restaurant should be - located in a light and airy building, run by a cheerful family, authentic Greek dishes with a modern twist, the best ingredients and organic, free-range meats. It can be a family affair during the day but transforms itself to a romantic location in the evening. There's a wide selection of meze, salads and vegetarian dishes. The mezes start at just £12.95 per person. We ordered the Meat meze which includes olives, dips, warm pitta bread, grilled halloumi cheese, kefdedakia, dolmades, Cyprus village salad, fried potatoes & choice of moussaka, stiado, pork souviake or sheftalia. It was so good that I'm salivating just thinking about it. I have it on good authority that the swordfish skewers and Karpasia Moussaka are key mains here so I'm already planning my second visit.

The food was delicious- we ordered the seafood mezze sharer, which involved dips and pitta with olives, followed by mussels, calamari, giant king prawns and sword fish (especially good!) and Mediterranean veg. We substituted fried haloumi for dolmades and they were literally the best I've ever eaten! The menu is extensive, but the mezze sharers (meat, veggie or seafood) are definitely the easiest and most economical way (£12.95-£14.95 pp) to sample the menu, if there are a few of you. The service is friendly- but be warned, the wait for food can be a bit long if the restaurant is busy- the place is family run, which is lovely, but they could do with a few extra members of staff! The only disappointment was the decor. The space is not overly inviting or cosy. Neither is it traditional in any way. There is a distinctly clinical feeling about the place, probably because it is quite colourless- we were hoping for a more traditional, vibrant atmosphere. However, there is no denying that the food is fantastic- I will definitely go again...

While we get pizzerias, spaghetti dishes and all kinds of Italian food served at seemingly every restaurant (and I have no complaints about it) Greek food is sorely lacking from our lives... Aside perhaps Greek style Yogurt, and the odd Musaka we don't see it much in shops either... That! my friends, is why you owe it to yourself to go to Mykonos! It's superbly delicious and steeped in a Greek feel that screams to me of long warm evenings looking out at the disappearing sun and swinging my heels with excitement, wondering what delights the menu may turn up next. Pork has never been handled so well in my opinion, becoming softer than chicken... And for the less carnivorous amongst us, fish and vegetarian options are just as wonderful. Its not the cheapest place to eat out (depending on what you order), but its one of the friendliest, with gracious grateful and helpful staff... and there is the option to get the food to take away if you fancy. On one occasion, coming back from the pub I thought I'd try my hand at the take-out rather than just grab a burger and chips or battered chicken as seems to be the norm. great decision... It took a little longer to get cooked up, but was well worth the wait and came in under £6, which for a slap up meal was more than respectable in my opinion. And I felt rather proud of myself for looking so unique, busying myself with Souvlaki while others noshed on chips. Crack out "Captain Correlli", look up some Greek dancing on youtube or whatever it is that may spark up a desire to taste this glorious part of Europe and then head over to Mykonos, I did and will do again

Because of Greek…read morecuisine's healthy bias towards seafood it makes sense for a Greek restaurant to be situated in a seaside town. That way it can make use of local produce thus giving its food the authenticity and freshness that all seafood places should have. Although not exclusively a seafood place it definitely excels in this area. However, the Souvlaki is great and it's only £5.95. It won't be the best restaurant you'll visit but it'll be a very, very long way from the worst.

The food and service is great, you are always warmly welcomed and given a very fast and professional service! I usually go for the fish of the day for the main and it is lovely! As for starters i have tried almost everything on the menu and have no complaints whatsoever.. My only complaint about this restaurant is the lack of diversity in the main course section. I would love to see kleftico on the menu as this is my favorite cypriot/greek dish and now increasingly hard to find in Brighton with the closing of Estia!

The mad irishman started moving tables, booze was produced from under jackets, loud chattering, and even political talk, happened all over the table. And they took it in stride. The service was a bit slow, and the lamb was awfully tasty, though a bit bony considering. The Moussaka was especially delicious! The setting was nice, and though a little loud, the entire meal was a great time and the food filling and not too pricey for what you get.
