Receipt for 32 dollars.

I came in on December 17th to have some shorts taken in on the waist. I had been looking for a new place to get alterations done due to me losing a few pounds while deployed. I started with an alteration shop called "Sew Good" on King Street and ended spending 65 dollars for two pairs of pants and 52 dollars for just one pair! I realized that was insane so I started researching other shops and this one came up. I visited and let's just say I won't be going back to Sew Good. The owner was able to take these shorts in from a size 33 to a 30 and did it for the price of 32 dollars. I am so grateful to have found this place! The only downside is that, it's cash only so to save you the trouble of having to run across the street to First Hawaiian, bring cash with you. It's also pay up front but the work is good so don't be afraid to pay up front.

I thought I post this business before but I guess I haven't. Blame it on the Yelp ghost from my buddy Daniel C. Lol. If your looking for a good seamstress you should check out Silk Boutique. I've been coming here for about 2 years now and the owner is so nice and friendly and her job is quality and fast turnaround. Not to mention names but you all know the 2 big name cleaning company I use to go to for my hemming was a rip off. I normally go through work pants like every 6 months do I need to get my pants hemmed. The other alterations places charge about $13.00 each leg so total $26 and takes about 1 week? Silk Boutique she charges $4 per leg so of course totaling $8 before it was $6 I guess due to Covid19 prices gone up a little , but that's ok because her turnaround is normal 1-2 days that's awesome. Whenever possible support small local businesses we need more of them She also sell mask for $6 various sizes

2nd visit here and I'm just as impressed as the first time! First time around, I needed to hem the length of one shirt and one pair of pants, I think it was roughly $20 something. Great quality work especially since they were clothes that I wanted to use for work. This time I needed to hem two pairs of pants and the sleeves of one shirt, super affordable at just $36, I believe that's basically $6 per hem. Anywhere else it'd be probably $15-25 per pants. Just be aware that this place is cash only. Definitely a no-frills type of place: you go in, let aunty know what kind of work you need done, and get changed in the small changing "room." It's really just a curtain in a small corner of the room, it feels slightly embarrassing the first time but you quickly realize that it's really not a big deal lol. Once you step out, she quickly takes the measurements she needs with just a single pin per clothing item, process takes like 2 mins tops. Then it's back to the changing room and then you hand over your clothes. You prepay for the items and then she tells you what day to return by. For me, I dropped it off on a Monday and got it back on Thursday. I believe you can ask for a rush order but obviously there'll be an extra cost for that. I like the quality of her work and that she uses matching thread color for the hems so you can't even tell that it's been altered. A very friendly aunty who just wants you to be comfortable in your clothes! Highly recommend for affordable alterations in a quick turnaround time.

How much to shorten a pair of jeans?

The charged me $9, to shorten my pants. Pick was the next day, but be warned the price goes up significantly for rush jobs.

Linh's Alterations

Son needed his suit altered (sleeves and pants) within a week. Danny provided great customer…read moreservice. Alterations were excellent and done with our quick turnaround request. Parking in the Texaco lot was very convenient to get in and out. Would highly recommend Linh's Alterations!

I was quite lucky to have someone in my family who was very good at working the sewing machine. I…read morewish I had more interest in truly learning it when I was younger because it's a very useful skill! Especially since overall craftsmanship isn't the same as before. Linh's Alterations was highly recommended, so let's give it a try! I knew where this place was as it has been at the same location along Ke'eaumoku St, between Kinau and Beretania and next to Mai Lan Vietnamese restaurant for decades! There's dedicated parking stalls on the side of the building, in the same lot as the Texaco gas station. Look for the Keeaumoku Pawn / Linh's Alteration sign. It's the same place! But it's definitely more so an alteration place than pawn shop. My wife has been here several times for repairs and alterations. This time I needed repairs! One of my newer Aloha Shirts had a seam splitting after just two washes, and it was all sold out at stores and online, so I wasn't able to exchange! The inside was clean and spacious. Linh was very friendly, nice, and an excellent listener. She definitely has very sharp eyes. Also, she is quite efficient! My shirt was finished in just a couple of days. Shirt was clean, neatly folded, and stitched very nicely. It was $15 plus tax, which was definitely reasonable. It wasn't a big area and it might've been a "simple" fix. Overall, I was happy with my shirt and the whole process, and will definitely bring any clothes that need repairs or alterations to Linh's! It's not a surprise she is contracted and trusted by several high to mid luxury brands. Location is convenient and parking is free and available.
