Love this new Himalayan spot, right off the Saw Mill Parkway. Such great value and so good. This spot started as a food truck, currently at the Pleasantville Farmer's Market, and now they've opened their first restaurant. Delicious chicken, veggie, beef and chives momos. Comforting, healthy thukpa soup, like a heartier chicken soup with more veggies and thicker noodles. The Thali set is unbelievable value for $15, giving you the chance to sample chicken curry, black lentils, cauliflower and potato, rice, and even dessert. Coming back to try the owner's butter chicken, which I hear is the best, and their mango lassi. 5 stars!!!!

Sikkim Hut The Taste of Himalaya is a new restaurant that just opened in January. This amazing restaurant offers authentic Himalayan, Indian, and Indo-Chinese cuisine. My husband and I really enjoyed this place, our first time trying Himalayan food. The variety of dishes were endless and the food was beautifully presented. We ordered the masala chai, crispy veg fritters, beef sekuwa, mix momo platter, and Nepali thali chicken set. Everything was so incredible and flavorful. Lovely decor, excellent service, dog-friendly, a true gem, definitely a repeat spot. The owners, Chef Dendup Sherpa and his wife, Dawa Tsamchut were perfect hosts and so welcoming. I can't wait to go back and try everything else.

However, giving an explanation…read morethat the chef would decide to swap out Dal in a Thali just doesn't make any sense given that Lentil is explicitly mentioned as one of the components of the Thali. Add to it, this explanation was offered only when we asked on the Dal. For a top rated restaurant, I definitely expected better service. Food - portion sizes were just right for a weekday meal. The Chicken Tikka was very good - reminded one of authentic Tikka you get in Delhi!! Naan was fresh and soft as well.

May be I got there early, as there was no one at the restaurant (however a few other came in later). I was greeted at the door and the person waiting was friendly. I had a lot to choose from and I decided to go with the non veg thali, had lentils, rice, chicken tikka masala, naan, rice pudding, raitha, papa, chicken tikka (tandoor) and pakoras. Overall, good food, personally I would have preferred more chicken tokka masala, gravy, as she chunks of meat took up most of the small bowl and did give me enough gravy. Its a good value for money unless you are there for a weekend buffet. Give it shot at this Michelin recommended restaurant. There's ample parking and seating.

There is a moderately sized municipal parking lot across the street which you can pay for with the passport parking mobile app. The venue is small with a few tables and appears to be more of a take out rather than dine in spot. The server was very friendly and cleaned off the table frequently of empty dishes. The venue was clean and had Bollywood tunes playing in the background creating a nice and cozy atmosphere. We tried various small plates which included the dhokla, samosa chaat, & chicken samosas. The apps were small in portion but were well seasoned and absolutely delicious! The chicken samosas were served with ketchup and had a slight kick to them. For main courses we tried a plain dosa with sambar and coconut chutney, the butter chicken bowl & a paneer khati roll. The dosa was crisp and beautifully paper thin. The butter chicken was served over white rice & was very tasty. We only wished it had more gravy on it. The khati roll was packed full of paneer and not overly spicy. We loved the dhokla and samosa chaat so much we ordered a second set to take home. The venue offers traditional drinks like masala chai and mango lassi in addition to traditional sweets. The menu is small but fun and great for a quick bite to eat. Definitely looking forward to returning!

I ordered daal tadka which is one of my go tos, GF ordered our other go to, saag paneer. My Dad ordered some chicken shit, my Mom ordered a chickpea dish, and they both ordered aloo gobi. I heard a lot of "this is really great" "this is really delicious" from them so their selections seemed to work out. I always get samosas and they provided THREE which is more than the TWO I usually get at my go to although theirs were slightly smaller but still filled with a tasty center. The saag paneer was delicious. I don't love when places add cream because like I'm getting something with spinach to be healthy but you are just ruining it, even though it tastes amazing. I didn't detect much, if any, cream and it was still really good. There weren't any massive onion pieces floating around either, A+. Unfortunately, the tadka daal was bland af. Didn't do much for me. My Dad actually dropped it on the floor in the garage when he was bringing shit to the fridge out there and I wasn't disappointed. One other thing I would like to add is that their naan was really good, better than my go to. I don't know why and can't explain it but it is what it is.

Best Indian culinary experience for my family in a long while. Since I cook Indian food at home, I…read moream quite picky about Indian restaurants, and Mumbai Dreams blew our mind. What impressed us first was their friendly, efficient and thoughtful service. I believe the man who took our orders was the manager. When he learned that I was a dairy-intolerant vegetarian, he informed me that the two veggie dishes I ordered - Bhindi Masala and Smoked Baingan Bharta - both came with heavy cream but they could switch to coconut milk for an extra $2. Then he went down the list of our order to say that some other items also contained a bit of dairy. I figured that I could survive that much anyway. Although the restaurant sign says "creative Indian cuisine", we stayed mostly with the traditional and our favorites. Our order came very quickly. Arriving in a cute mini tricycle, the samosas were surprisingly plump and substantial. Two of those could easily make a meal for me. The Kure Kure Mushrooms were deep fried and coated with creamy seasonings, bus still retained the chewy bite and aroma of oyster mushrooms. The serving was so large, the spices so abundant that both husband and son said they'd resume this dish after our rice arrived. The meat-eaters were extremely happy with the Malvani lamb, while I was just as impressed with the two vegan dishes. Everything was cooked from scratch, retaining the fresh flavor and texture of the ingredients. There must have been a whole pound or more okra packed in the Bhindi masala, which was dryer yet tastier than what I'd experienced elsewhere, a truly honest value. Baingan Bharta is one of my comfort foods, and their version surely met my expectations :-) We loved their creative Rosemary naan, what a delicious fusion of east and west! The waiting staff kept checking our water supply and other needs. The bill was very reasonable. We are sure to come back for more!

We had a reservation for a party of six at 7:00 pm and were promptly seated and given water when we arrived. Unfortunately, that's where things started to fall apart. We didn't see another staff member for about 45 minutes. Eventually, I believe the manager came over and took our drink, appetizer, and entrée orders all at the same time. Our drinks arrived about 20 minutes later, and the appetizers started coming out intermittently after that. Our entrées didn't start arriving until around 9:00 pm, again coming out one at a time. Some people in our group were nearly finished eating by the time others received their food. We had also ordered naan for the table, but it was the very last thing brought out, at a point when some people had already finished eating and no longer wanted it. Throughout the evening, a young woman did keep our water glasses filled, but aside from taking our order, no one came to check on our table -- no one asked how things were going, whether we needed another drink, or acknowledged the long wait. The final frustration came when we received the bill and saw that a 20% gratuity had been automatically added. Considering the level of service -- at one point we were stacking empty cups on the windowsill just to make room for our food -- this felt pretty disappointing. The food itself was decent, but based on this experience I wouldn't return. One suggestion for management: if in-house service is running extremely slow, it may be worth pausing take-out orders so you can properly serve the customers already dining in the restaurant.
