When I've needed it, I've always been able to reach friendly help quickly and there have been no hidden or surprise costs. Recently I needed to upgrade the cellular back-up feature, so I decided to purchase a newer panel that allows me to operate things remotely, add some sensors, and switch out all my smoke detectors. I also had them add a medical emergency button to my fob. Though I didn't shop around (because I didn't want to switch companies) I was surprised at how reasonably priced the whole new system was, especially since installation was very involved. After installation, the company was responsive when I asked them to make free tweaks remotely to fit my personal preferences. And, because I was on a very tight budget (and asked) they let me break the entire cost of the new system into twelve monthly payments. As far as I can tell, the new system is working very well and it feels good to support a local, family-owned business. I'd recommend Phillips in a heartbeat.

From first inquiry, to getting a bid, alarm installation, and learning how to use the system.. All went super smoothly! Each person from Phillips that we talked to either on the phone or in our home was polite, informative and professional. We feel good about using a local service too! My husband travels for work quite a bit, and now when he is away on business, I can take comfort in the fact that we now have an alarm system protecting our home and our family. I especially like the option to control the alarm system through our cell phones. Now we can arm it from bed if one of us forgets to arm the system. Could also come in handy if you needed to let someone into the house who doesn't have a code or young children.

Mark gave me all of the info that I needed, gave me prices and he will be coming out next week for a walk around. We will install in a few weeks. It took me about 24 hours to remember the company name, not a reflection on them, just my advancing age. I recognized them by their yellow logo and then I had instant name recognition! This company is now out of business. Don't know how they went downhill so badly (according to the…read morereviews), because they did the install on our home in 2007 and it was fantastic and has been trouble-free all this time. I looked them up because we are finally putting in a bigger flat screen and I wanted it done professionally. Luckily I found the contact of the guy who lead the original install in our home, Jeff Kill. He was an employee at Room Service for many years when I met him, and he left Room Service some years ago now has his own company called Ambient Automation. The install guys on his team are also from Room Service. This week (Dec 18, 23) Jeff's new company installed our new 77" Sony, put new HDMI cables through our walls (to support 4K video) and were done in less than 2 hours, and it all worked with our existing universal remote (also provided by Jeff at the original install, and it still works great!) So the 5 star review is for Jeff's new team in case other former customers of Room Service find this review.

Yet again. This place is horrible…read more My folks asked them to install a EASY TO USE set up. That was about 8-10 months ago. We've had nothing but issues with it and not working. Every time we call Mike he bumbles around like an idiot and says "oh yeah it's never easy when you use this system" Are you kidding me? They are old and SPECIFICALLY ASKED for an east set up. I have to reboot the WHOLE set up 2-5 times a day in order for a black screen to not appear. When we told them about this, this was their response "well we can't order a new one cause it'll take way to long." And "this shouldn't be happening, but there's nothing we can do to fix it. If it gets a red light on the tv then we can." Recently some "control 4" stuff wasn't working. My dad contacted Mike and left a message. Still waiting to hear back after about 5 days. That's some real Sus ass crook shit to do. So we bought 10-15 thousand dollar system, and they fucked up, it rarely works, and they say they can't do anything about it. Seriously considering going to small claims court over this.

Still calling them 6 months later as I continue to add more features to our C4 system. And they've never let me down. Some of these reviews are unrealistic in my view. When working with technology things can be unpredictable. Expecting to hook up all this stuff flip a switch and it magically works perfectly is crazy. They've solved every problem eventually. And the "never give up" attitude is what I value more than speed. We love our C4 system and it's incredibly complicated.... - Theater with Xbox/Xfinity/AppleTV - 150+ light switches - electric blinds throughout - outdoor sound system - speakers in virtually every room - 10+ wireless access points all over the house - 10 wireless deadbolts - Tied into our security system with over 100 door, window, glass, smoke and co2 sensors Highly recommend you give them your business and patience. It will be worth it.

They will tell you that they are doing work for huge companies and individuals and you are lucky to have them. Unfortunately for us, we believed them. First, they gave us a timeframe for installation which ended up being much later than they promised which caused us not to have our system in place for a party. Second, the wireless network that they set up had lots of holes in it. Their sales pitch promised that it would be flawless and if it wasn't, there would be no cost to us for making it right. It took them weeks to come out and analyze it and we had to threaten them to get them to show up. Finally they did. They tried to charge us a few thousand dollars more when it didn't work and blamed the house set up for the problem. The truth is they never came out and checked out how our house was set up and as a result, The system didn't work. They did put in more equipment to make it right and then tried to charge us for it. Eventually they wrote it off. But it was a fight every step of the way and the representations they made to us when we bought the system were simply over exaggerated. Third, we bought this service contract where they represented that they would be able to fix any problem that arose within a day. That simply was false. Today, we have not had I our system working for a few days and after they screwed around with it for a while over the Internet, said that they would not be able to get to it until next week. When we reported the representations that they made, they simply said we'll try, but we only have two technicians. If you are reading this note they only have two technicians that can solve problems. And now we are without our system for another week because they can't fix it. In short, these people overpromise and under deliver and overcharge also. Don't go near them. You are forewarned.

When the new homeowners moved out, they had Current Home Technologies come out to cancel their service and remove loaned equipment. Once I moved in, I noticed that the DSC security panel's installer code and master code were not reset back to the default codes when it should have been (as explained by Tony, the founder and CEO). Tony refused to send a technician out to reset the installer code (which would be a very quick and easy) even though it was due to their own error for not resetting it in the first place. As a result, they instructed me to just factory reset the panel myself, which will require a much longer process to re-enroll every sensor and device in the home. Pretty disappointed in their customer service as this is a mistake on their end and they're unwilling to correct it. They also had the audacity to try and "sell" me on starting monitoring service with them. This is definitely not how you get new customers and more business.
