We have been customers for over four years, but our recent experience has been nothing short of frustrating and unacceptable. My mother took our 1.5-year-old leased 2024 Mazda CX-50 in for scheduled service while I was at work. The email stated the service would cost around $300, but once she arrived, she was told that additional work was required, bringing the total to approximately $750. This is a brand-new vehicle, and we have already completed two scheduled services within the past 1.5 years. The sudden upsell felt completely unreasonable. As if that wasn't bad enough, Sales Manager Michael Ye attempted to convince my mother to break our existing lease (despite us only being 1.5 years in) and start a new 4-year lease on a lower-trim vehicle, claiming it would be "cheaper." However, the new payment would still be around $400 every two weeks before tax--not to mention the penalties and the 1.5 years of payments we've already made. When questioned, he insisted we'd pay less when buying out the vehicle in the future, but what about all the money we'd be throwing away by terminating the current lease early? This entire situation feels like a blatant attempt to take advantage of customers, especially those who might not be familiar with financial details. After calling to dispute the excessive service charge, they offered us a "free service next time" (which they claim is worth $180). This response only raises more concerns--if they can waive that much so easily, what does that say about their pricing practices? I originally left a 5-star review 4 years ago, but my experience this time was disappointing enough that I feel obligated to warn others. Loyal customers should not be treated this way. read more

The new car I just bought, a 2025 Mazda 3 GX, great car,After deciding to buy car, salesman asked me if I wanted stuff like luxury package, VIP package etc, of which I declined all of them. Guess I should have read the invoice before signing as he added VIP for $580.00. So not knowing I paid for a package I had declined, I waited 2 hours for car to get ready, then he came and got me and we loaded my wife's walker from my trade in.I had car started and noticed I never was given the invoice so I caught sales man as he was going inside and asked for it. He said sure he would look for it. He came back and I grabbed the invoice and left to go home, once home I discovered I was charged for this VIP package of which I had declined. This was Christmas eve, a few days after Jan first I came in and explained how I contacted Mazda Canada and they told me to go into this dealer to cancel package.I met with the finance person who had originally taken my money and I explained it all to him, his reply was, "this is not my signature, who ,signed this?"I said it must have been the salesman. Anyway he was pleasant and told me I would be getting a refund of $660.00 in the mail, so far 2 weeks later, no refund .I live only a few miles from them and have gotten all my other mail on time. So 2 weeks I;m thinking that its not coming.It would have arrived around 8 days ago if they had sent it.I'm always weary of "your check is in the mail"If it does not come, I will be taking this to arbitration with their regional Office and if still no refund will take them to small claims court. Always telling me there is something wrong with my car and try to sell me service that I didn't need. Last time I went for an old change there in 2010, they told me my that my control arm broken and I need to get them Replace. So I went to get a second opinion in brakes and muffler Shop. They hoist my car up for free and check to see if I need a new control arm for my Mazda, and they told me Nothing is wrong with it. After that I never went back to Mazda service in Richmond. I brought my Mazda 3 to this dealership to check the engine as the engine warning light was on. They quickly checked the gas cap and said it is tight. They said they need to run a diagnostic test to find out the problem which should take at least 2 hours and they charge $214 per hour. I asked why take so long. They said the diagnostic test takes at least 2 hours. I bet they are going to connect to an obd scanner and get a result in less than a minute but they will charge me for 2 to 3 hours. Deeply disappointed after being a customer for FIFTEEN years. The managers do guess work and can't really guarantee their work EVEN when I asked if paying this much will fix the car. The parking at this dealership leaves a lot to be desired, and parking can be hard to find. There are long waits for the most basic, the simplest work performed. Most people now buy their tires at a retailer which offers free lifetime rotation. The cost of full load battery (alternator, voltage, and regulator) checkers are fairly inexpensive now at less than $100. You can check the battery health at the basic level with a cheap volt meter for under $20 Alignments don't usually need to be checked or performed more than once every few years unless you hit the curb or potholes regularly or at high speeds. But to echo the other negative reviews, their service rates are high, and they refuse to provide basic à la carte services like oil lube filter changes without anything else. Instead, Signature will sell you only packages which often involve services which you may not need, like battery and alignment checks. However, if you need to have ALL these services performed, they include it (for your convenience), but convenience has its price. For some folks who drive older vehicles, can't otherwise do oil changes, and visit specialty shops, it might be worth considering going here once every two to four years or if you don't know much about cars. Otherwise, I suggest going elsewhere which gives you more and better options. read more

Service is blah. So came here on Saturday, the day after Black Friday. They were having their annual Christmas party in the afternoon and in my head I am thinking "are you kidding me". All the customers going in were pretty much being ignored. We are seriously looking for a vehicle and only when I asked for service, I kind of got service. Who on earth will have their Christmas party on a busy day where there are potential sales going on. Obviously the person who planned the party is not bright. So we did get to try out a vehicle. Got some servicing done here before the holidays. Nothing major, just routine maintenance with a complimentary swap to winter tires. Apparently they don't check to see if the tires are balanced while doing that tire swap. Problem only became while doing highway driving. When I hit 80km an hour I thought I was going to die the car was vibrating so hard. I asked about it and they told me they don't check tire balance or drive on the highway for testing purposes after maintenanceis completed. (Which I've told them before I do all the time) Long story short, these guys don't even test for basic safety after they finish their work. read more

My gf and i went to do a lease buyout yesterday. We had appointment at 10:15 am. Arriving early, we asked the reception lady about a safety inspection fee of $695. She sent us to the woman in leasing department. We were told this Bronze Safety Inspection is done because the dealership don't want to be liable for any lawsuits. In addition, the $695 Bronze Safety Inspection is done to all lease returns and charged to the customer, according to the lease agreement, regardless you buyout or return. So we agreed to the inspection in order to complete the lease buyout. We sat there for the next 4 hours, watching the employees having lunch. They forgot to call the insurance agent before their lunchtime. By 2 pm, my gf was getting sick in the stomach. I got her some crackers and water. By the time we finished, it is close to 3 pm. What a horrible experience !!! We were there to give them money and we got hungry and humiliated. read more

Bought a new 2021 CX-5 in December 2020 - deal closes, all is well, or so I thought, but here's where it all starts to fall apart. 1. This dealership forces you to buy their VIP package (or I didn't negotiate hard enough to get it turfed - either or). It includes 15% off any accessories you buy through them until about 1 month after you take the vehicle home. The accessories I purchased were in the deal at full price rather than the 15% off and I overlooked this on the final price sheet. I guess caveat emptor, yeah? Loss to me - about $150+taxes. Funny how their pricing system fails to calculate this properly... 2. One of the accessories I bought was the 2" trailer hitch. So during the deal with the salesperson, I'm constantly referencing the Mazda Canada website to price these out. It clearly notes on the Mazda Canada website that the price of the 2" trailer hitch includes the wiring harness. During the negotiation another sales person asks if I need the wiring harness installed. I say no, I do not need it installed. I guess he asks because this particular dealership doesn't honour Mazda MSRP on some accessories. I find this out when I am having my accessories installed (two weeks after I pick up the car because they needed the deal to close before year end and couldn't install the accessories before I pickup my vehicle) and I object to paying for the harness. I was fine without the wiring being installed, but I want the wiring harness itself for future use. They try to convince me this is normal at every Mazda dealership (above MSRP accessory pricing), that it's my fault for not looking at Signature Mazda's website vs Mazda Canada, etc. After I decline them 3 times and ask for a refund they offer to not only give me the wiring harness but install it for the MSRP price I originally paid. I decline, because at this point I don't trust them. Loss to me - $0 because I declined to get it done with them, but would cost $300+tax more for the harness+install than a dealership that honours Mazda Canada MSRP pricing. 3. I message the salesperson to refund me for the trailer hitch I declined as it was part of the original deal. She quotes the refund as the MSRP price less the VIP package 15% discount they never gave me on the accessory to begin with and no sales tax reimbursement. Sigh. I text her a picture of the contract I signed that shows they not only charged me full MSRP for the accessory but that they charged me sales taxes on top of this - I explicitly point that I was charged sales taxes on the accessories to her. A week later I get a refund cheque in the mail for the MSRP price of the hitch without the sales taxes. Sigh #2. Not making a scene over $70, just glad to be done with Signature Mazda at this point. Loss to me - $70 in sales taxes they never reimbursed in the refund. 4. The day I closed the deal, the Finance manager told me I had to make a partial pre-payment of $1,000 via credit card. Six weeks later the first financing withdrawal hits my bank account at the full monthly amount. Where did my pre-payment go? I check with the financing bank - the dealership submitted the full price of the loan - no deduction for my $1,000 prepayment. I call the Finance Manager, he "checks with accounting" and they refund me my $1,000 same day. How many other customers prepayments did they "forget" about? Loss to me - $0, but would have been $1,000 if I hadn't recalculated the deal terms and the talked to the financing bank six weeks after the deal closed. Completely unforgivable, intentional or not and given they just stiffed me for $70 in sales taxes on a refund I know which of those two I think is more likely. Giving 2 rather than 1 stars because when pointed out, these were made right (mostly, see #3 above). But if I wasn't closely scrutinizing everything, I'd be out close to $1,600 via subtle ways in which this dealership separates you from your money. Tread _carefully_ here folks. read more

I went in with my boss at the time and he had an old Explorer. He wanted a VW but I thought I would ask him to try a Mazda3 as it has higher quality ratings and SkyActiv so better highway mileage. After we filled in the paperwork the salesperson explains that he didn't realize that there was already an agreement on the car and would I give a $500 deposit in case the other deal doesn't go through. It was never explained that it was not refundable. The following, we decided not to oroceed with purchase and requested our deposit back. The salesman sends an email soon after saying that the manager, Matthew Legg has been trying to reach me to tell me that I can proceed with the purchase. Apparently, he had sent it to the wrong email address. He now refuses to refund my deposit. I guess their goodwill has a price and it's $500. Poor experience at Signature Mazda has management more interested in calling a potential customer a liar than investigating the abysmal customer service at their branch. I went in to look for a new vehicle. Ignored from the start. Finally after asking for someone to talk to they sent in their "sales rep". I told the "sales rep" exactly which configuration of Mazda I wanted to test drive (I was not there to waste time, I was there to purchase a vehicle). The "sales rep" pulled out a car I was not even interested in. As if this wasn't enough of a signal, I went in to talk numbers with the "sales rep" (my mistake). The "sales rep" impatiently gave me some options they had available, I provided a reasonable starting number and instead of working with me to sell a vehicle (apparently not their business?), the "sales rep" was more interested in getting rid of me, responding with an extremely disrespectful "We Don't Give Cars Away". Worse yet... I was so appalled by the experience that I felt the need to review this company on other forums. Signature Mazda management wasted no time in shutting down my review by calling me a liar. This is exactly the type of customer service you will expect to receive when dealing with Signature Mazda. During the purchase, I was required to write a good review online for their service - now I understand why the rating of this dealership shows quite high because of this 'good review request'. During the purchase, their staff convinced me to buy a Warranty Package, which I found later it's useless for people like me who don't drive much mileage. When I applied for cancellation, I surprisingly know some hidden information and some items in the package are non-cancelable and they won't give reasonable refund. Unpleasant experiences with this dealership and the products they recommended. They are only nice to you when you are buying.
