First off the bat - this is not meant as a braggadocious, look at me, I'm so special type of piece. Strictly sharing my experience buying an SUV. Besides your Porsche might be my Pinto & vice versa. I've been driving SUVs since about 2012. I just love the size, height & look. I've never desired to go back to a 'regular' car. Ha! Finding a new SUV was both challenging & a thrill. I sourced info from three very good friends who love cars & know their s*@t when it comes to everything vehicles. I finally settled on the VW Atlas. German engineering here we go. Fahrvergnügen! It is a robust & steller looking SUV in my humble opinion. My biggest SUV so far. The interior features are endless, sound system on point, touch screen superb, panoramic roof = I can see the stars, massage chairs = yikes hope I don't fall asleep while driving! Outside - the body is a solid 10! Stunning headlights, solid grill, R badge on display, VW logo lights up, 21" wheels, 269HP/Turbo & the curvature lines on the body = beautiful! Price = if I told yaa, I'd have to off yaa! Some of the other SUVs I looked at were the - Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Grand Highlander, Mazda CX90. Atlas Cross Sport, Lexus, Acura MDX A Spec & the Audi Q8. I test drove a few of these SUVs & none of them captured me into liking them quite like - the VW Atlas 2025 did. Its got all the bells & whistles & then some! To make this dream come true, not only did I sell a kidney but a big toe as well. It's dayum expensive! Excellent customer service provided by salesman Caleb Penno & manager John, Kelly in Finance & Andy in Service! I never felt pushed or forced into buying it as I was very clear on what I wanted & expected. BTW, if you're thinking of getting the electric ID 4, get in here ASAP - they were literally flying off the shelves!!! My new VW goes, beep, beep ... vrooooooooommm! read more

Without a work order the anti theft system was disabled by Clarkdale. As a result the insurance probably will go up. I was told that the computer program for my Volkswagen was not available anymore. I want my money back and be reimbursed for the missing anti theft system. Since the "repair" the corresponding light in the dash is permanently lit now. In a nutshell: The billed work was never done and the work done wasn't authorized by me and carried out by a non Volkswagen authorized contractor. The results after the "repair" was that the new key I paid about 700 dollars for wasn't really needed because the old original key is now working perfectly fine. In the past 25 years myself and my family has bought 5 cars here That tradition can come to an end soon. read more

Vancouver Volkswagen - Clarkdale let me pay almost 700 bucks to get me a new key. - Car Dealers Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

I do not have any experience purchasing a car from Vancouver Volkswagen, but a couple of times I have taken my Golf in for servicing. Both times I decided against having my car serviced at this dealership and returned to my trusted auto mechanic. Why? Because first of all, they want $200 just to open the hood. I was told it would be no quick fix. Second: you can't even make an appointment. I was instructed to go away and phone an "appointment specialist", who works from home. I was further warned that it would be over a week before I could have my car serviced because they were just SO busy. So I drove over to my see my auto mechanic who said he would order the part immediately and I should come back within 48 hours (no appointment necessary because it WOULD be a quick fix). I rest my case. read more

Avoid this car dealership at all costs. Horrible customer service and sketchy business practices! Arranged to view a pre-owned car with an appointment at a specific date/time, was told the car would be ready to test drive at that time. When I arrived at the dealership, none of the sales people were present - they were apparently away at some event in another part of the city. The receptionist provided some confusing excuse and encouraged me to head to that location, providing a QR code to scan in order to locate the address, and that there would be plenty of cars to look at there. The whole point of the appointment was to view a very specific make/model that I had been searching for, and not only was the appointment completely ignored, I found out shortly afterwards the car had been sold, with no consideration or chance for me to make an offer! And people wonder why car salesmen have the crappy reputation they have... just avoid this place so you don't waste your precious time and energy. They obviously have some major process gaps or simply don't care, likely both. If I could leave zero stars I would... read more

Buying a new (used) car should be fun and exciting. VW doesn't agree. We flew into town to pick up the car and when we arrived reception seemed surprised to see us. Howard had me produce ID and sign a couple things and then he disappeared. No handshake. No thank you. Just gone. And we were given keys and briefly introduced to the car (many bells and whistles were still figuring out) and we were on our way. Felt awkward and unappreciated. read more

My experience has been largely negative. 1. We picked a car, and said "barring any unforeseen circumstances we will take it" and filed the paperwork to start the credit check. 2. Once the credit check was initiated, the salesman disclosed that the car had been in an accident which had required over 6k of repairs (I still have the voicemail, and some text messages discussing this, because its fairly recent and I generally don't get many voicemails). At this point we could no longer go with another car dealership without incurring two hard credit checks, which would have a negative effect on my credit score (we were leaning towards getting an Ioniq 5 before seeing that car, so this was pretty frustrating). 3. When picking up the car, we were offered 4500$ trade-in value for our old car, a 2013 Ford escape. We said we would try to do a private sale, but the sales manager who made the offer made it clear we could take the car in at a later date, and didn't mention any sort of expiration date on that offer. I think there was probably generally some amount of trying to smooth things over because of (2), and I didn't realize where standard customer service ended and smoothing over the screw up in (2) began. 3. a) The car had a very basic issue with its 12v battery, and I was in and out of the shop for the first month of owning the car. I don't understand why the service department took so long to sort it out, but it doesn't inspire much confidence. 4. I received an email from the marketing/sales manager about the Black Friday deal. There were no caveats listed on the email. We had been too busy to pursue a private sale up until that point, and hadn't had much use for a second car, so it was a compelling offer. 5. I spoke to marketing manager on the phone, confirmed the situation with trading in my car, and set up an appointment to drive an ID.Buzz because we are also interested in that vehicle. 6. When we went to the dealership on Saturday morning, not only did we discover that the offer from (3) no longer valid, but there were no intentions of honouring the advertised deal. Honestly, I was fine with points 1-3, it seemed like an honest mistake. And I wouldn't care if I had reached out about selling my car and they said no. But to reach out to me, discuss the situation on the phone, and have me waste my Saturday morning was incredibly frustrating, I'll never do business here again. read more

This dealership has gone to shit and I have been coming here for years. The new management is disgraceful and there is no customer service culture. The staff particularly Madison and the manager Jens Eggers decided to complain about me in front of me at the counter, as if I was not present. Quoting "She does not want to pay for her service even though she authorized it." They took my words out of context and they did not know how to handle a basic request regarding the cost of my services. Additionally, the manager Jens practically brushed me off when I had requested a phone call with him. I will not be coming to this dealership again, as they have ruined my experience as a new young driver and have made me feel uncomfortable. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP This dealership leased us a 2013 BMW within a few months they began repeatedly asking us to trade in the vehicle, which was confusing as we just leased it. Quickly though it started having problems , we took it into two mechanics and both told us the transmission was completely destroyed and it was clearly an old issue. We brought this to the attention of the dealership and they refuse to do anything , they won't trade it in, they won't take it back and to fix the transmission they quoted us $13 000. On a $20 000 vehicle. We are now stuck paying $600 a month on payments for a lemon, Howard and Gil santons knowingly sold us this vehicle and no one will be accountable . We went with this dealership because we have a young daughter and wanted something safe and reliable and all we got was debt and stress. If anyone has any information on what we can do about this please contact me as they have ceased communicating with us. read more

I have owned Volkswagen vehicles for over twenty years and typically, I have had okay service at this location. However, we have had issues with our key fob for years and the service staff have repeatedly refused to acknowledge it's a manufacturer issue. They have quoted us 350+ to fix the key fob. The quote always seemed expensive to us and as a result, we resorted to using the manuel key to open our vehicle. Well, recently the metal key broke off from the fob and we were hooped. So we call Vancouver VW to get a quote, they say it would cost $500 to fix. And we would need to cover the costs of towing our vehicle to their location. The soonest they could get us in is next week. All of that sounded less than ideal. We shopped around and found a trustworthy locksmith that fixed our key within a couple of hours. They even gave us a new electronic key fob and it works for our car. I don't know why the locksmith was able to do this without having access to our vehicle, but they did it. It cost us $190 to get a new key. Basically, I don't feel like Vancouver VW is the most affordable repair shop for VW owners and I strongly suggest shopping around to find other honest and reputable people to help you with your car troubles. You will likely save yourself a few hundred dollars! read more

Having some "fond memories" today!! 'Clarkdale Volkswagon' was where I purchased my first car -- a brand new 1963 VW 'bug'. It was fresh off a boat, and still covered with the protective wax, and some off-loading ropes attached! But it was 'the' one for me!! It was turquoise in colour, and a basic, 'custom' model (for me, it was a strong 'no thanks' to the extra chrome, and such of the 'deluxe' model). It was a Friday when I returned the next day, and there it was, sitting there "beaming" - all shiny and new - and ready for me to take home!! Such a major event -- I had just learned to drive, received my BC driver's license, and here I was only a couple of days later, purchasing and picking up my first car -- and driving it across a great deal of the city, for the first time, to get it home!! I survived, and 'the two-of-us' headed out to UBC after the weekend, and so many other venues after that!! 'Clarkdale Volkswagon' had what I wanted, and did everything right re: my initial purchase, and subsequent pick-up of the vehicle chosen. Was I a touch nervous about all of this? you bet I was! But all went so well, and I was sure happy to have had them on my side at the time! read more

Had to get a part changed and reluctantly came into the dealership to get it done. What was supposed to be a 1 hour service turned into a full 24-hour ordeal. They had to let one of the techs take the car home to see if the warning light would come back on and managed to put 32km on the car overnight, after the service person said it would be a very close drive. After checking with them the day after on when the car would be ready they said around 1pm and that I would be contacted via phone when it was ready. I had to call at 3:30pm because I knew they were closing at 5ish and the service agent finally said she would go check and actually it was ready. After paying for everything, it was really disappointing to see that they didn't even bother washing and vacuuming the car like they had indicated on the service invoice and acknowledged multiple times over the phone. Alerted the staff about this and they finally put it through the car wash and it did pretty much nothing. I could've just waited for the rain to do a better job. What's the point of offering a car wash and vacuum as a complimentary service when it wasn't even completed and then done poorly? Come on, at least try a little harder to make a somewhat neutral experience (I don't want to say positive because after all the delays there was no positivity to be found anywhere). It definitely makes it hard for me to even want to come back to this dealership for maintenance as the standard of customer service is subpar. Oh, car remains un-vacuumed still. In case you're wondering. read more

We recently picked up our new VW eGolf after a 4-month wait. For those who aren't aware, the wait for these cars is currently between 6 and 12 months. We were thrilled when Kong Vu phoned to let us know our vehicle was coming in. We picked up our new car last week and had an absolute first-class experience with Clarkdale VW. Our sales person Mike Hahn was superb at keeping us updated during our wait period. And once we were handed over to Kong to work out the delivery details, things were just as smooth. On pick-up day, we dealt with the friendly Kamran Sobhani to sign paperwork and hand over our payment. And lastly, we really enjoyed our time with Patrick Conway as he introduced us to the new world of an EV. Great sense of humour and an easy-going attitude. As we walked throughout the dealership, we kept hearing "congratulations" from different people and several shouts of "awesome colour" when we were first taking a look at our new baby. I even heard "you're part of our family now" and I kinda believe it! The gift basket we received was a very nice and unexpected touch. Thank you Clarkdale VW for the fantastic all-around experience. You all made it easy and fun! read more

Clarkdale (specifically Chris Lacusta) won me over forever today! I had a flat and when I called to book it in for repair, they were completely full until Wednesday (and my fave service guy, Chris, wasn't available until next week). However, when I emailed to see if they might be able to squeeze me in, not only did they say sure, but Chris contacted me separately to say he was coming in early to handle it himself. He had the tire repaired while I waited (less than an hour) AND didn't charge me for it (or the wash or vacuum). I didn't even have an appointment! But the very best part is that I forgot my lunch at his desk and he sent a shuttle to my work to drop it off. Now THAT's great customer service. Thanks, Chris and Clarkdale. I have never encountered this type of experience before when considering purchasing an automobile. I was interested in a 2017 Audi R8. When I went to the dealership they stated they would be taking a $500 payment for taking a test drive and NOT refunding it should I decide to not purchase the vehicle - I'm not even sure if this is legal! Please don't deal with this business - this was the attitude displayed by management and I'm sure it permeates the whole company read more

I was referred to Clarkdale VW by a friend. Jens Eggers was my service advisor and with little to no effort on my part, he was able to help me with my vehicle issue. Due to COVID 19 on the day of the service, I was not allowed to stay in the waiting area. Jens had taken the time to tell me about a few good cafes in the area and farmer's markets where I could spend some time. Once my car was done, Jens walked me to the car to ensure I was happy with the service completed. Very happy with the professionalism and service provided. I will definitely be doing all my future services with Clarkdale VW & Jens. read more

I've been going to clarkdale vw for many years, not because of their exceptional service, just because I can't be bothered to find somewhere else to service my Jetta. Every time I make an appointment I have to correct my address, not sure why they can't seem to keep my file updated. Fortunately they've seemingly finished their renovations so it's less inconvenient to drop my car off there. Highlights from today's service: I requested to have my car by 13:00, they assured me that would be feasible. I definitely did not get my car back until 13:45 and there was no phone call to inform me that the situation was running behind. I understand things take longer sometimes but I would have been nice to have a phone call so that I could arrange my affairs. The other highlight was that they definitely misplaced my keys and it took an extra 10 minutes for them to bring my car around front My shuttle driver was given the wrong phone number to reach me at so it took him longer than necessary to reach me as he had to go back and forth with the dealer Highlights aside, the advisor and the shuttle driver that I dealt with were very nice. Overall experience was mediocre. Wouldn't recommend. But I'll definitely go back because I can't be bothered to go anywhere else. read more

Clarkdale, sorry Vancouver, Volkswagen rocks. Still can't get used to that new name....anyway they are the best period end of story!!

By the worst customer service I have received. My brand new car was brought in and I was left without a car for full three days. When I brought in the car no one helped me out cause I wasn't "buying" one. I was just told to leave the key at front and they will deal with it in the morning. No one helped me answer my questing at all. They had no loan cars left and instead of arranging a rental which my lease covers Grace told me to call jim Pattinson and see if they can help because that's where I bought my car. After being bounced back and forth. They told me my car won't be fixed for 2-3 weeks and arranged a rental car. What I didn't understand is why they couldn't have arranged that from day one. After complaining that I had to arrange rides the last three days for work she said she would give me $20. I don't recommend doing any kind of business with them read more

This place is the worst, I dropped my vehicle off, and when they returned it to me there was a missing windshield wiper. They tried to bill me for it, once I told them to show me on their list where It shows it was given to them missing, because they document all the damage, they told me it would be covered, however not once did I get an apology. I had to go back In there twice for THEIR mistake. I understand these things happen, I was okay with it until they tried to bill me, and then not even say sorry!!they didn't even acknowledge what they did wrong. No accountability at all. I've brought my vehicle in for the same problem twice, and twice they've done nothing about the cooling systems on my seats not working properly. I spend hours in these seats I know they are not working properly. Now the heated seat is coming on randomly. My friend has a VW too, and she started telling me about how she wants to change dealerships, HA i realized she was talking about this location. I purchased a used vehicle from Clarksdale in April 2019. At the time the vehicle had preexisting damage to the bumper which was not professionally repaired. The paint that was used to hide the scratches chipped off within months of owning the vehicle. In addition, I purchased the car with 93km on the odometer, and at 98km I was told that the 90km service warranty was not yet done on the vehicle even though it was certified preowned. Recently, I went back to the dealership to inquire about the possibility of trading into a new vehicle. I was advised that my trade in valuation had gone down approximately 60% due to high mileage, over due service required, and damage to the vehicle. Which would all need to be fixed prior to to them reselling the car. Granted there is also a dent in the door panel that I am responsible for, however, I've only put 5000km on the car since I purchased it from them. So the high mileage, existing damage, and overdue service are pre-existing conditions that they hid from me when I purchased it from them! I would not trust them to give fair evaluations for trade-in vehicles nor would I ever purchase a certified pre-owned vehicle from them. As a seller, they listed expenses that would be required before selling the vehicle, but as a buyer they sold me the same vehicle without fixing the same issues at a higher price. I have owned multiple VW vehicles in the past, and this experience has deterred me from purchasing from them again. read more

"Jetta" Patio, Lounge and Cafe? I had no idea this was up the stairs! It's heaven sent when you've got a 3 hour servicing ahead of you. Unfortunately, I never did find the password for the Wi-Fi and it did appear that this was also the lunch room for the staff. As the only client here, it felt a little like I was intruding on their break time. I would've been happy as larry in the business centre (the lounge) but the A/C was cranked and I was without a parka. The staff is always friendly enough although, I think their priorities might be a little backwards. I've had my car serviced here a number of times and every time I'm standing in front of the reception/till, she takes a phone call. Isn't the cardinal rule of thumb that the customer in front of you should get serviced first? Perhaps I had been spoiled with my relationship at Westminster VW (now under new management, which means I don't feel so compelled to travel for servicing), but outside of them, I always feel like I'm being slightly swindled. How do I know all of my filters needed to be replaced? The costs are high and I think they prey on the fact that you'll have to make a split second phone decision on what to do. And then poof, a $100 oil change (I'm a diesel) is all of a sudden $300. Sigh, but at least they do a decent wash and vacuum. read more

"(*^@$*^&)(@&^ SQUEAK ^$@*^&$@)($^ GRIND&GROAN """"^()~*@_!#(*_$ "***^"~Orange non-flashing engine warning light~"***^* Ugh. What now? So... off I go to Clarkdale to take in the Golf. I always book a super early time when they are not too busy and can get to me within five minutes. Staff are pretty much all smiles and helpful in recent years which is a MAJOR improvement. Lana the receptionist is the gatekeeper here, and deserves every cent they pay her. I've been in there when all hell is breaking loose and she handles all thousand things at once. Simultaneous pissed off customers both in person and on the phone, all the while still smiling and handing me my keys. Wow. I couldn't do that job. My last warning light visit lead me to Megan who took care of everything with ease. She kept me up to date all day with what was going on with the repairs and what things were going to cost. With a free ride back into downtown and a fare-saver card for transit it was easy to get back and pay the hefty bill. Which leads me to why I can't give them five stars yet. I don't mind paying labour and parts for big jobs, as I have no idea what a timing belt is or where the temperature sensor is located under the hood. Is it metal? Does it have a non- flashing orange light too? But I do have a problem with the $30-40 pricetag for replacing the air filter. Come on. I could have done that with a Lordco filter in less than four minutes for half that. I know I am whinging about the high cost of owning a reliable car. Duh! It comes with the territory. But it is hard to trust someone with a vested interest in your money that says your little orange warning light will cost you $1500. Ugh. Oh well. It is the price you pay for the convenience of good wheels! The car is running pretty smooth as of late. We saw Clarkdale a few too many times this year. And hey, I like you guys but I hope I don't have to see you anytime soon. You are a pricey errand! Thanks for the complimentary car wash and vacuum though. It needed it! read more

Purchased a Tiguan here in 2013. It went downhill from here. Despite having an above-average number of small yet persistent issues with the Tiguan, and seeming to spend at least one day every couple of months hanging out in the service department drinking coffee out of a VW paper cup, I would say I was pretty loyal to the dealership. The initial buying experience, similar to other reviewers, had been pretty good, and, apart from scheduled maintenance, everything else was under warranty, so it was just my time being spent, not my money. No biggie. However, after getting in an accident last year which resulted in the write-off of said Tiguan, my first stop was naturally this dealership to give them my repeat business. So I made an appointment to look at some vehicles. I arrived early. Even though I had just been in about a week prior for an issue with the engine stalling, the service advisor who had helped me stared at me like I was from another planet after I smiled and waved at him. Okay, fine, you deal with a lot of people, but still, I am literally here all. the. time. Not exactly giving me warm fuzzies. After 20 minutes of walking around the showroom, checking out cars, getting in and out of a few cars... and in... and out... I was not acknowledged once. Nobody asked me if I needed help, nobody said hello. I went outside to meet the salesman as planned when I made the appointment and was then subjected to one of the greasiest sales pitches I've ever had to endure. On top of that, I was only allowed to drive the car up to the top of Queen Elizabeth Park and back -- a total of about 10 minutes -- before the salesman started pressuring me to make a deal on the car, applying the usual urgency tactics and telling me someone else had already put in an offer, even though I had told him I was not in a rush to make a decision. I left almost immediately after that. A pretty disappointing experience for a repeat customer and needless to say I won't be going back to this dealership (if I ever buy another VW). read more

Clarkdale initial visit seemed quite pleasant although the costs to repair an oil light and beeping on the VW beetle were quite steep. After spending $$$ on that visit, the oil light issue returned and returned to have corrected. After diagnosing a check engine light instead of oil light, they eventually attempted to solve the oil light issue again. Two days later, oil light back on with beeping again. Needless to say, the service department charges $$$ but does not actual resolve the original problem. Unresolved and not likely to recommend anyone spend any $$ on this location for servicing your VW. Headed elsewhere for better service next time. read more

Let me start by saying that we have previously had three brand new Passats which performed flawlessly from day one. VW in its infinite wisdom have stopped producing the Passat and so we were persuaded in to a Jetta, again, brand new. During a weekend away, the sun came out and we turned on the air conditioning. Out of the vents came warm air! Back in Vancouver, I contacted the dealer - Vancouver VW - and was invited to bring the car in for them to check. This I did, only to be told that the 'special machine' required to check the AC was out of order, and that the only person, a Manager, who knew when it would be repaired was off sick! A week or so later a phone call informed us that the 'machine' was back in operation and could we bring the car in ..............again! They kept the car for a day and announced that a new part was needed and had to be shipped from the US "about three working days away." I quote from the work sheet: "....found AC compressor dripping oil, verified with UV light. Replacement required." Bear in mind that this is a brand-new car with some 23 KM on the clock when delivered! Tellingly a piece of paper which I presumed to be a pre-delivery checklist listed everything BUT the air-conditioning! The Service Agent, Matt Ogglesby, is a very personable young man who was hugely sympathetic and apologised profusely. Complaints to VW Canada were met with a barrage of platitudes and not much else. Time for an updated review! I had a really pleasant experience today at Clarkdale. I returned because the client care manager, Dennis contacted me via Yelp. I was impressed that they were joining the conversation about their business, so it truly showed me that they cared about what their clients thought. Dennis wrote me and invited me to come in for a complimentary key program (something that I needed). I did, and well... it was on the same day as on an Elite party and for RRSP cutoffs so I was rushed with errands and paperwork. I approached the counter, and to my dismay, I wasn't in the system. I guess Dennis had forgot to book me. Well, I was turned off (I really didn't have time to waste) until the service agent Devon told me it was no problem and that I'd be out in 20 mins. Beautiful. I ventured up into the Jetta cafe, drank a couple complimentary lattes and filled out some RRSP paperwork. I needed to fax so Devon offered to fax the papers for me. Nice! He sent my fax for me and then asked if I had time for a car wash. It could be 5 minutes until my wedding and I'd still make time for a free car wash--I love nothing more than a sparkly car. I drove my shiny wheels around town when my Investment broker called me and asked about my fax. It hadn't come in. Well, I felt bad that I'd involved Devon in all my business, but what's a girl to do when she's picking up supplies at Home Depot? I called Devon to ask about the fax. He told me it hadn't gone through yet but that he'd happily try again. He did and it went through. Rockstar. The service was stellar today. Very glad that appointment worked out! read more
