LGA Garage Door Service

LGA Garage Door Service

I have been an industrial and commercial building for over 30 years. I have five Clopay overhead…read moredoors that I hired LGA in Spring, TX. to install in a building that I own. In my opinion the doors were never installed correctly. I have asked repeatedly for someone to come out and look at the issues I have with the installation and have had no luck. Last week one of the doors snapped a cable and caused the door to almost come crashing down on top of someone. These doors are 2" thick, 12'x12' and 14'x16' steel panel doors. The one that failed was 12' x12' and most likely would've killed the person or seriously injured them. In my 30 plus years, I have never seen a cable break on any overhead door, for any reason. When I spoke to the Owner (Godo) his reply was the hadn't seen that either. When asked again for someone to come out and look at the doors he sent me an invoice for over $1,500.00 to send someone out. These doors were installed one year and four days ago. I am still trying to rectify the situation. I am running out of non-litigious options. Any advice would be appreciated. I have reached out to Clopay and was told that they are only able to help with the product and not the installation. I would highly recommend that you look elsewhere for your garage door needs.

Freakish accident! A shovel handle lodged in the track of the garage door and we didn't notice it…read more The shovel handle caused the garage door to buckle when we tried to close it. Well, as they say **IT HAPPENS! Let's see...one roller broke, the pin feel out. The middle bracket partially came apart when the door buckled. Both tracks were slightly out of alignment and it was not easy to get it closed until it could be repaired. The staff was great in getting the Service tech, Edison, out to diagnose and fix it. Seamless service, and I thought the price was reasonable. I will use them again...close to my house, and they built some trust with me. I highly recommend them. D.Harrison-Spring

Legacy Garage Door - The Torsion Spring System (new)

Legacy Garage Door

I've created a project via Yelp and have received multiple quotes from 4 different vendors. At the…read moreend, I've decided to use Legacy Garage Door. Chris had reached out to me and discussed the issues I was having and even provided a competitive initial pricing. He was friendly, straight forward, willing to listen, and not pushy. The next day, Abel the technician came out, he visually inspected my garage door and confirmed the same estimated price. He even suggested to convert my nylon rollers to nylon rollers with steel ball bearing. It added an additional $75 to the original estimate. Rollers usually last you 10-20 years. So we were right around there. We had a Wayne Dalton torquemaster spring system, and converted it to a Torsion Spring system. Torquemaster are supposedly more expensive to replace (almost double the price), so we went with the Torsion Spring System. Not only because of the price differences, but the torsion spring system is the industry standard and easier to replace (per discussion with all 4 companies). The torquemaster spring system has springs inside the metal rod and is rated for a minimum of 10,000 cycles which is roughly 5-8 years. The Torsion Spring system has springs outside the rod and is rated for 12,000 cycles which is roughly 8-12 years. Pay attention to how many cycles in the springs that the companies are offering. The higher the cycle, the more expensive they are. Supposedly, you can request for high cycle springs, which can be up to 100,000 cycles. Your door width can be a factor as to how high you can go. It took Abel about 45 minutes to do the replacement. He was friendly and kind. Both gentlemen were easy to work with and very professional. I highly recommend using this company and would definitely use them again if I need to one day.
