I messed up the third time I played here. I payed online and had a printed recipe I was supposed to show, but I forgot and payed in cash, so I double payed. I sent an email to them later, and a really nice guy was totally understanding and said that I could print out the email and next time I come to TAC to play, I can just show it to them, and I'm good for a day. A lot of the staff at TAC are really nice and knowledgeable about airsoft and seam to enjoy helping you. But there were a couple of douch bags that didn't seem to enjoy doing their job/being a genuinely nice human being when around others. The only reason I've docked a star is because the first couple times I was there, there was always an employee or two who were total assholes. One guy had longer hair and a bit of a beard who screamed at me for the smallest things, full well knowing he was doing that to a complete beginner in airsoft. I never saw him again, so I'm, assuming the guy got too many complaints and was fired, or maybe I just got lucky and never saw him for the times when I went. There was another guy with pretty much the same description as the first, except he was like 7ft tall. This guy was a bit of an asshole, but still pretty cool and fun to play with. I say this because when you're aiming center mass normally and then shoot this guy, the shots hit him right in the balls. He complained a bit about that. For the few times I played with him, he was an overall cool guy. Still can be a dick though. I've got other cool and not so cool experiences here, but overall, I think this airsoft field deserves four stars. I am excited to go back with friends and I'm sure most people would be excited too.

Always a great time. The staff is very helpful and run the center very well. My 13 yo and I love…read moregoing on the weekends.

There have been a few snags with reservations before, but the staff was always courteous and helpful to resolve it. Okay, lets talk about the fields. These are AMAZING fields. They have several that they rotate you through, throughout the day. It doesn't matter if you are a private group or a walk-on group. You play at all the fields. You VW nuts out there in cyberland will appreciate the fact that their Urban field has a late 70's model Rabbit as a bunker. It nearly brought a tear to my eye to have to shoot it to tag someone out. I digress. Hamburger Hill was an amazing field to try and fight up. The Urban field had lots of junk and two-story buildings to snipe from. The Speedball field was pretty standard. The Bridge field, was so amazingly wooded that I was able to sneak behind the whole enemy team. The Jungle field is where I start to complain. When I play paintball in Western Washington, I might expect to see the occasional stinging nettle and bee. I do NOT, however, expect to see whole groves of stinging nettles and multiple large bee's nests. The field may have rectified this, but if they haven't, avoid the Jungle field. The only other complaint I have about Operation Paintball is how frequently you change fields. I have a lot of gear, as do several people I play with. We don't like like to lug it from field to field, every two games. While I applaud the effort to allow people to play on all fields, I'd like to stick around on one for more than two games. By the way, as I read the other reviews, I need to ask, "You people arrange Yelp games?!" I might have to include people on here for my next private group... So, quick summary: This is a great venue with many amazing fields and one that I'm scared of (You just can't shoot bees. They are known for swarming.) The prices are reasonable, and you get a variety of playing experiences with refs that actually do their jobs. You just change fields, a lot. The only place I like more is KC Crusaders, and not by much.

They also have camp cookware, fuel canisters, and freeze-dried foods. They also carry solar-powered electronics, battery chargers, and other devices. This place is like a supercenter for outdoor recreational activities. I could spend extra hours in the store, just browsing, and marveling at all the options they have. Some of my favorite items are The Walker's Digital Electronic Earmuffs for indoor shooting protection and the Salty Crew Apex Perforated Long-Sleeve Hooded Sunshirt for style. Although several items are pricey, they do offer memberships and various discounts to reduce the damage to your pockets. I usually frequent this place twice a month, sometimes just for a browse for sales or to find items that I do not currently have on hand that will be very useful in the future. Oh, and I just absolutely love interacting with service reps because they actually love what they do in their job. If you or someone you know enjoys adventurous outdoor activities, there aren't many places that have the quality and quantity that Bass Pro Shop offers.

After repeated poor customer service experiences, I've decided to stop shopping at the Tacoma Bass Pro Shops and will likely take my business elsewhere altogether. At the Tacoma store, asking for help consistently feels like an inconvenience to employees. Checkout interactions have also been cold and dismissive, both in tone and body language. Recently, my wife asked whether she qualified for a military discount. Instead of explaining the requirements, the cashier abruptly asked, "Where's your military ID?" That exchange reflects the way we've been treated there on multiple visits. The one exception to the lack of attention is the credit card pitch. Employees are quick to approach you about signing up as soon as you walk through the door, sometimes so persistently that it feels awkward and intrusive. I wish that same attention went toward helping customers once they're shopping. I had a similar experience at the Cabela's in Lacey while purchasing a firearm. I didn't know I needed to sign in on a touchscreen before approaching the firearms counter. When I went to ask for help, the employee made me feel foolish for not knowing the process. Customers should be treated with basic courtesy whether they're spending $10 or thousands. These repeated interactions have cost Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's my business. I'll be shopping with a competitor.

The first clerk I asked to sell me a pass fumbled around and could not log into a computer. He made an odd, childish sounding call to another clerk. That person came and the two of them would have been comical to watch, if not so sad. After about 5 minutes, clerk 2 called his manager. I had the dubious please of listening to first questions about the computer ( I could tell it was not good news of some type), then a long conversation about sales, socks and things the clerk was to do. It was very clear the customer standing awkwardly in their store was not important. So, after the call, I'd been in the store 10-15 minutes. The clerk addresses me, while looking down and to his left, like he was afraid of me. I had NOT said a single word at this point. He gave a long-winded excuse, this was a known issue, they had submitted tickets, they simply had to call the state and get it fixed. I simply said OK and left to find another store and by my pass. This store needs training and a manager shake up. To not post the computer was broke (so I would not drive there in the first place), to not notify staff, to not care about the customer standing there while they were talking socks and sales.... Everything that is wrong about retail training and service is endemic to this store.
