Three of My Trees Needed a Pro. Better Call Sal!…read more A very Large Cedar tree did not make it through the winter. I think it was about 30 feet high. And I had a 20 foot tall Pecan tree that died also. When Sal's crew arrived, they informed me I also had one more dead Pecan tree. The trees were a bit crowded, so when the men finished thinning out, the overall effect was very pleasing to the eye. And the crew ground the stumps down, filled the holes and cleaned everything up. It is hard to tell Sal's crew were ever there bringing down those tall trees and reducing it all to mulch. When the crew found the third dead tree (a Pecan) they quickly estimated a price, but it was over my budget, so I told them "next time". Sal's guy agreed to knock off $200, and get it all done so this job would look great, and the problem was off my list. I was not angling for a discount but it made it worthwhile to squirm for the extra. And I realized they were so right when I saw the finished result looked just beautiful with all the trees attended to. Sal, I am glad your guys can "think of Their Feet". They really stand back and get the big picture when they plan their work. This is my third service from this company. And I could not be happier.

Jose and his crew absolutely rocked. They were able to scale the large trees in my backyard, and kept the cut limbs from falling on my roof. They made quick work on my trees that needed to be cut back from the street, and cut the dead trees down without dangering other parts of my home / fence I really appreciate them cleaning up the debris around the house, including the excess leaves in the yard from the trimming. 6 weeks ago 7/14/20 we paid $433 to have this tree trimmed because large branches kept breaking and…read morefalling. One branch had missed someone by 1 minute. We made it clear this is why we needed it taken care of. My husband had been unemployed 4 months at this time and we still felt like this money needed to be spent to make the tree safer. After they left I didn't feel they did a good job but chose not to complain because they came recommended. But my family member was upset that they recommended someone we weren't happy with. So he complained. And the project manager came out and said, "I'm sure it was a shock for Amanda when she first saw the tree because it had not been trimmed in a long time. The tree has open crevices and to prolong the life and health of the tree, we had to remove the excess weight on the limbs. I did see some cuts that look weird, unfortunately, they had to be made without removing really large limbs and losing too much of the tree." I wasn't unhappy because they cut too much. I was unhappy because they did not cut enough. It was not thinned out like it should have been. Then last night this branch breaks. I thought "excess weight" had been removed? So I email. And I get this response: "Hi Amanda, I personally went out and looked at your tree after the work was completed. The tree was trimmed properly. When trimming a tree, you can only remove up to a certain percentage of the tree at one time without killing the tree. With all of the strong winds and storms we have had, since your tree was trimmed, no amount of trimming could have prevented damage. If you would like for us to come out and remove the broken limb, it would be our minimum charge of $150 + tax." Why would I pay an additional $150? Which is it? You had to remove excess weight on the limbs or we can only remove up to a certain percentage so excess weight wasn't removed? Tree Fella/Dallas Tree Pros who we hired/who we paid will not be getting another dime of our money.

Acorn came highly recommended by the city…read moreas Code Enforcement had gotten some complaints in Southlake (imagine that) for the tree being close by a electric pole , but the guy from the city said they were a great company. So I called and spoke with Chris from Acorn. He got back to me right away. He was able to me be a day later and that was only because of my schedule not his. He came out and I told him what I wanted to have done to the tree. It was nothing fancy. It was get it off the citys electrical pole, the neighbors fence (which broke some) and they could just leave the rest for now lying on the ground. We talked about price and a day. His guys actually showed up earlier than the time stated and already had started working on things. Called Acorn and told her I would be writing a check and Brittany said she would be coming by to get it. But instead Chris came by to make sure the guys were doing what they should be. And he actually had them do a little bit more than originally planned! They did a great job for such a hot mess of a downed tree! So I would ABSOLUTELY 100% recommend hiring Acorn Tree Service. Was very satisfied with their service.he quoted me a price and I had found someone that would do it…read morea couple hundred dollars cheaper.about a week later he called me back and ask if it has been cut down yet.i said no the guy was real busy right now and it wouldn't be for another couple weeks before he could get to it.well he told me he would match their price and a couple days later he had my dead cottonwood tree cut down.along with a limb coming across from my neighbors yard above my power line.also did a great job on clean up.the only thing left is for them to come back and grind a couple of stumps down. They couldn't really do it at the time due to all this freaking rain.all I can say is good job and I would recommend them.
