They seem not to tr anyone, or really tight ass. When my internet was turned off on a Saturday, I called the service dept was all that was open. I had my paid receipt from them with all the information and he couldn't help me. the just don't seem to care. Looking at Starlink as the other option. sad treatment for an old reliable company. Why this business has a tuff time to adjust to privide a better customer service? Ever since my first contact with this company, low IQ, unfriendly, lossy personnel have come my way. I prefer not to mention names at this time, but rating of 3.6 speaks volumes to a striving company. They are the most rigid, behind technology time in greatest denial and dissatisfaction customer service one could find nowadays. Totally out of touch, imposing and inflicting harm and displeasure. They think since they have a contract with the city and have a monopoly in ISP, it will make them immune from lawsuits and FCC rules and regulations. A very cheap approach and egotestical employees is the cause of customers to give this company 3.6 ratings. Do they really care? Why should they? As long as they can nickel and dime us, keep ignorant of the reality of service and customer satisfaction, they'll survive another day. That is the motto they strive by. Portating being good by donation to this and that hardly counts for customer satisfaction. How benign a company can be? Expect nothing but more ignorance and avoidance to these ratings. read more

I don't know whats worst since the discovery of the Internet either broadband or the Flintstones. At least the Flintstones had no "choice" but to use primitive ways. Sierra Tel is right up there with them. They are the worst of the worst. If i can go 10 notches below that i would. Bad customer service and empty promises. Meanwhile we as residents in Coarsegold have to deal with them because they have the market up here and are UNwilling to upgrade their infanstructure. As an IT Network Admin for many years, i have never seen this type of crappy service in my life except when broadband came along in the 80's. If you have the time and paitence to wait 30 seconds for a webpage to finally show up, then this company is for you. I use UnWired located in Fresno. Just moving into Coarsgold(Oak Creek) I was very leary of Sierra Tel. Coming in from Silicon Valley and being a High Tech manager I knew what fast and dependable was for the Internet. I can honestly say that Sierra Tel has been beyond my expectations. Not only is it fast, but in the last 6 months it has never been down. I am very impressed. The support people, and I have been in technical support for over 30 years, are just excellent, patient, understanding and willing to spend the time to get any problem resolved. My only issue was the fact that I did not get any bills. Minor issue as I knew I had to pay, so I called to get the correct information and am all paid up. read more

I've had a great experience with Sierra Tel. It's reliable - not the fastest internet due to where I live - but reliable and has not gone down for an extended period once. Today I got amazing customer service from Sherry, who helped me with some questions related to the house. She was patient, personable, and helpful. read more

I have never had a problem with Sierra Tel. I had them for a few years when we were newbies to the mounts and we have had their service for almost a year again. no drops in service, no outrageous charges. my son plays his online video games while we watch Netflix, not even a hiccup. For several months last year I was charged for Internet service that was not working more than a day or two every month. Customer service did nothing to help me until finally I threaten legal action and filing an FCC complaint. They sent someone out on a Saturday finally which work for about a month it is slow and inconsistent yet they still want to charge me $70 a month for the services that they do not render. I will be switching to unwired as it is more expensive but a better option than Sierra tell which just wants to drain the community dry and not provide anything of value. read more

Unfortunately Sierra Tel is pretty much the only internet provider in the Mariposa/Oakhurst Mountain area, besides satellite, and they know it!!! We pay over $100 a month for shotty Internet which is very slow. It's just insane that city folks pay 30-40 bucks for almost twice as fast internet than Sierra tel can offer. The employees have all been great so that's why I'm giving the extra star. But if it weren't for the employees it would be a solid zero. I have had Sierra Tel internet for about 20 years and to be honest it hasn't improved a whole lot. Hope they get better! read more

One of the most disorganized, cumbersome businesses I have ever delt had the displeasure to "work" with. A simple transfer of address mailing of bills and/or a transfer of service from my father to me (he sold me the house) was absolutely impossible to resolve with providing proof of purchase documents (deed and closing papers??) and sheafs of POA paperwork beyond belief. So his account will go into default and I will just use cell phones. Consider internet service with them?....think again if basic telephone service is such a paperwork nightmare. read more

They fax services till 5:30 as I was in desperate need of it, and the counter help was very nice and accomodating.

Way way way overpriced. But what options do you have? From talking to other people there service is slow and unrelaible. But since they are the only one in town do you go with them? So sad read more

Went to the Sierra Tel Business Center to add on a Verizon phone to my husbands account and left 30 minutes later shaking and in tears. I was next in line and the associate helped two males who came in after me first. Didn't even ask what I needed help with. Finally got my turn and was immediately questioned and he seemed to try to find every single way to possibly NOT help me. I'm authorized on my husbands account but my ID shows my maiden name still. Another employee vouched for me but he would not accept it. Called the manager for 10 minutes "to discuss". I felt judged the entire time all because of my last name on my ID. Like seriously?! Didn't even look up our account or offer to call my husband. I tried to be patient in hopes it would get figured out but was given the run around. I had asked if he was going to be able to help me and finally he said no 30 minutes later. Worst experience. Will never go there again. The associate Richard had no customer service or compassion. I felt judged and belittled. And to top it off I'm nine months pregnant. Just shows you how they treat their potential customers. So happy to go to Ensignal across the street. They fixed his wrong right away. read more

Unreliable internet service. We are always losing service and we have a microcell tower for our cell phones, so when we lose internet service we lose cell service also. It makes working from home extremely difficult as the internet goes down almost daily. Also very overpriced. read more
