In my frustration, I hopped onto Yelp and submitted a project request for a fabricator in my area. This turned out to be a HUGE blessing because we received several responses but the one that stood out the most was Greg from GT Stone Works. He quickly responded to my inquiry and was the most pleasant, respectful and incredibly thorough person we spoke with. He was highly knowledgeable about all things countertops and could not only answer all of our questions, but also asked us questions to help us think of things we hadn't thought about. We knew right away that we wanted to work with him and boy, are we so glad we did! Greg walked us through the entire process, was even super patient when we realized midway between his driving to us that we had to postpone the measuring until the sink was installed (we were newbies!), had solid vendors he uses to source the materials, and thoroughly communicated with us throughout the process. We decided to go with quartzite and he even FaceTimed us to make sure we were happy with where he was cutting out the pieces to get us precisely what we envisioned. If project is on ground floor or are there stairs - it's clear in the photo I provided. 5. Do I have the stone and what type- this was evident in the original request for a quote. I would at least expect them to say "in a recommended thickness of 'x', it's x-dollars for marble, y-dollars for quartz, etc Overwhelmingly pathetic first interaction.

He is a natural stone expert! Our kitchen is now 12 years old and it is used like a kitchen -- we do not just order takeout and throw things in the fridge. Kitchen use = granite abuse.
