I had the kitchen in my old condo done by Cabinet Happy and they were great. I had a particular aesthetic that I was looking for but I didn't have any solid ideas. They worked with me and recommended some ideas and the results were fantastic and they did it at a great price! I can't recommend them enough. Nelson and the folks at Cabinet Happy are the best! I needed a customized cabinet built for my small garage. I don't park any cars in it and use it for storage/work area/play area/workout area. OK. If there was a spot for one more star, I would use it. Nelson and his crew deserve a nice big 6 STAR review if you ask me. First thing is the personal time and suggestions / ideas / creativity that Nelson provides. In this day and age where the only thing you get is a big photo file that shows reference material to work with, Nelson provided much more than that. I had my kitchen done by Cabinet Happy and was on a budget. Nelson suggested me to work with specific suppliers and even gave me a layout that worked in the best interest of me and the tight space to work with. Layout, Storage, Flow, Work space, etc etc. All these things and more were considered by Nelson. Next thing is professionalism. I hate late contractors. Who likes them? These guys? On time. Polite. Clean up after themselves. All the things you expect. On top of that, they understand and work with other contractors to make the project happen on time with no issues. On top of all of this? After the project, I get a follow up phone call to make sure everything was done as expected and if there was anything else they can do. Actually, I had one thing. My bathroom cabinet (bought from Lowes) had 2 sections that looked like drawers but did not function. They were "fake" and I was not happy about that. I can't rave enough about this company, they are the Sh#t !!!! I'm a free lance engineer that needed a display case for a client in LA. It was very intricate. I wanted to have it made in Nor Cal, then ship it down to LA, then Ship it up back. But that would piss off my client and jack the price up. But then I realized it might be cheaper to have it made in So Cal. I sent CAD models to some Carpentry companies, but I found it more expensive that Nor Cal. I was searching on the web and I found Cabinet Happy. Pictures of their work was crazy good on line. I left a message and Nelson called me. He was very professional.. Asked tons of quesitons, How would I like the grit finish, safety film of the glass, etc.. stuff that I would never of thought of. No sales pressure at all. AT ALL! and the price was so much freaking less! It was 1/2 the price of some other company i found!! 1/2 the freaking price!! Like I said, it's all about the service, not just the price. 5 stars for the service, 1 star for the price, and 1 star for being in So Cal, so I don't have to ship the darn thing to SoCal Too bad I can't put 7 stars instead.. totally worth it. oh..i asked to expedite the delivery, expecting an expediting fee, they said they won't charge me. We have deliberately tried to make every home furnishing piece we've acquired really count, even at the expense of eating quite a few dinners on the floor, watching TV on the floor, [insert a task] on the floor. You get the point. Fast forward a few years, we had managed to snag a great dining room table, but no seating. We had an idea for a bench, a graffiti bench, something in a mustard tone to match a funky little tea pot set we keep on the table. Enter Cabinet Happy! We've seen their work in person and began to ask ourselves, why try to find the perfect bench.. when it could be done custom to spec. Their attention to detail, their great interest in aesthetics, and their unyielding desire to create a quality product made the decision a no brainer. At the outset, Nelson took the time to go through the details and made suggestions on what would work and wouldn't. As part of our original plan, we wanted shelving for our entertainment system. But rather than capitalize and sell us on more Cabinet Happy work, Nelson honestly told us that the space was best utilized without shelving and provided us with practical tips and inexpensive alternatives! After seeing the positive reviews for Cabinet Happy, I called and emailed for a quote and was asked to submit photos and drawings of the proposed work to be done. As this was a reasonable request, rough drawings, measurements, and pictures were emailed to both Larry and the main email address listed on their website. When I didn't receive a response, I tried to reach the company several times, but received no call-back or email. I was finally able to reach Larry and was told that I was one of many customers that haven't received a call back or wouldn't receive a call back. A courtesy call or response to let the customer know of long lead times or availability would have been the professional response. Overall, the process was frustrating and the lack of attention to service is disappointing for a serious buyer/customer. read more

I had seen Cabinet Happy's work at a friend's home and been very impressed with their mix of installation of prefab components and some custom elements to give a custom look at a great price. Having found my dream home and splurged on tile and appliances, I wanted cabinets to match the existing and give a seamless appearance. WOW. The guys were on time, on budget, finished the job to perfection, CLEANED UP! and were a joy to deal with. Just genuine people. If you've ever dealt with contractors/builders before you know that it's a relationship where the other guy has all the knowledge and you have the bills, so it can be fraught. I was very confident and at ease working with these guys who did what you wish all professionals would do. Amazing work, on time, at a fair price, and they treated my kitchen like, well, a kitchen, not a dump yard. I cannot recommend them strongly enough. You get what you pay for... and Cabinet Happy is worth every penny! I found Cabinet Happy by referral and hired them to help me with a kitchen remodel. While gathering bids from a few different companies, it was obvious that Nelson was the best of the bunch. I could tell that he was creative and passionate about his craft and not just looking to churn through jobs as quickly as possible. After accepting his bid and talking to him a bit more about my project, Nelson pointed out to me several very creative ways to maximize space and efficiency. He was able to put every nook and cranny of my kitchen to good use, while at the same time, considering my needs in preference and style. But it goes beyond cosmetics. I can't say enough about their craftsmanship. As I went through the process, I would learn more and more about what goes into what it is they do. Nelson would point out certain details they would address and explain to me why they were doing something a certain way. He would tell me how some contractors might take the easy way out because it was faster and "most people wouldn't notice." Not Cabinet Happy. (Keep in mind, I wasn't paying these guys by the hour, they just have a great work ethic. And to be honest, I was one of those people who "wouldn't have noticed.") From my first call to Cabinet Happy, Nelson was responsive and informative. There were only a few times he wasn't able to pick up the phone and even in those instances, I promptly got a call back. He was always very accommodating and never pushy. Even when I held up the process because I couldn't make up my mind (Sorry guys). To be honest, cabinets, in general, are more expensive than most people think, myself included. Custom cabinets, even more so. But, in hindsight, after doing my research, seeing other bids and having gone through the process. I got the pleasure of working with Larry and his crew from Cabinet Happy to remodel the kitchen of my first home (in Riverside). Start to finish, from responding to my request for a quote to installing the last cabinet door handle, Larry was professional, courteous, responsive, mindful, punctual, accountable, and the list goes on. In one sentence, Larry is one of best contractors one can ever work with. I should also mention that Cabinet Happy's pricing is very competitive. Planning -- Larry was extremely mindful of my needs and requirements, especially with budgeting concerns. After giving several pointers on how I could keep costs down without sacrificing too much on quality and looks, I decided to have Larry help me demo and haul away the old kitchen, and install an IKEA kitchen. I shaved off costs by taking my kitchen measurements to IKEA and having the staff there help me with my design, and assembling and readying the "carcasses" for them to install. Cabinet Happy's bid was very competitive. I had one other close bid to consider, also professional and received rave reviews, but it was Larry's responsiveness, professionalism, and patience with my inquiries that won me over (maybe also because he was a fellow 626er). Larry also offered a few creative ideas regarding some of the strange plumbing that I had going on. Being that budget did not allow for re-plumbing, Larry respected my decision and was able to work around these nuances. Installation -- Larry and his crew was punctual on all three days for demo and installation. They brought their own blankets to layout over the floor, thereby protecting my newly installed flooring. Larry was very proficient in installing the IKEA kitchen, taking him and his crew a little over a day for 14 boxes and butcher-block countertop... Hence the reason for hiring someone to install an IKEA kitchen, as oxymoron as it sounds. It would have taken me several weekends! At the end of the day, Larry busted out his broom and swept the floor before heading home. I also appreciate this attention to detail: he was able to align all the doors and drawers, save for one stubborn door, and the placement of the handles were right where I wanted them. No doubt about it, hands down, 5 solid stars! I look forward to the day I can call Larry out for another project, or refer him to a friend or family. Just a fair warning to future clients: working with Larry (or anyone from Cabinet Happy for that matter) will set the bar extremely high for any contractors you may work with! Others contractors took either a day or two longer, or not even called me back at all. So typical of contractors. Anyways, I got a total of three bids for my entertainment center. Cabinet Happy wasn't the lowest bid but I went with Larry because he's a no bs kind of guy and on top of that he had his contractor's license and carried all the necessary insurances. My project was installed on time and the team did very beautiful woodwork. Even after we settled up, he was happy to come back to swap out a squeaky hinge a couple of months later.
