And sad that it has to take a negative review to get a timely response. Either way I've upped my rating from two to three stars. At the end of the day the counter's look good and they aren't bad people. The Bad; 1. Poor customer service. I contacted both the owner and installer several times and either got a response a week later or never at all. The last time I contacted to rectify installation issues three days in a row, both by text and phone call. No response. 2. Both counter tops were installed it to specifications. Shortcuts were taken. They didn't use undermount clips provided by manufacturer on either sink. This has become an issue as one sink needs to be replaced (broken, not by them) but Choice granite mounted from the top so the sink can't be removed without removing the countertop. And seeing they won't return our calls we're forced to hire someone else. 3. Upon inspection one of the mitre's was done poorly (this was later rectified with some cosmetic application). 4. Minor chipping on the underside corner of one countertop. The good; We liked the price, liked that they did the install on site, and the countertops look great. The installers were really nice, polite, quite, and efficient. Points 3. and 4. most people wouldn't pick up, we're craftsman, and take pride in our work, so we notice the little things. Points 1. and 2. in our view are unacceptable. They were very responsive when it came to getting their money, not at all when handling their mistakes. read more

Overall: five stars for installers but zero stars for non-branded quartz Positives: Greg is extremely responsive, good prices, and installers were great! Negatives: Paid an extra $400 for the brightest white granite counter tops they offered for my kitchen which was four slabs. The slabs had significant variation in color so the seams were obvious (photo below - maybe I am overly anal) even though the install was perfect. When I pointed it out to the installers, they shrugged their shoulders and said to talk to Greg. Greg's response was that is normal, but he didn't even request to see a picture or come out to take a look as I suspect the installers informed him. He offered me to do a bathroom counter top at cost. No thank you. Beyond the color variation, the quartz is susceptible to marks/staining like no other I have seen before. I have had white quartz in prior kitchens and have it currently in my four bathrooms. This has proved to be the biggest issue and why I will replace the countertops with a branded quartz in the near future. I think if you go with one of their branded quartz options it should be a good experience. read more

We chose Choice Granite for our kitchen countertop quartz and installation. Choice Granite was the only place out of many that we reached out to that had 120" quartz slabs. Everywhere else we checked ranged from 100"-110". With that being said, they had great options and were even cheaper than the other places we checked that sold smaller slabs! Greg was also incredibly helpful every step of the way. After we ordered the slab, Greg notified us that there was a minor flaw in the slab and asked if we wanted to pick another option, which I thought was very kind and professional of him to do, even though we declined that offer. For the labor piece of installing the countertops, the workers were quick and efficient. For $600, they complete the installation on site. If noise is an issue, for $100 more you can have them come out and make all necessary measurements and cut the slab off site. The only issue I had with the labor piece was that we ordered a square mitered edge, but the workers initially stated that they "forgot" the necessary tools to create the mitered cut and asked if it would be okay to just glue the overhang on. After 10 minutes of going back and forth about it, they decided to double check their trunk and found the necessary tool. I think they were trying to save themselves from some extra work. Despite that little obstacle, I am very happy with how it turned out! read more

I am updating this to reflect that the leftover slabs of quartz countertop have now been removed. Thank you, Greg! Original post: We manage an apartment complex and have used Choice Granite on two occasions, one of which was for a completely new kitchen. That one did require a lot of my involvement (and fixing some issues) during installation, but the end result is beautiful. The latest job was installation of quartz countertops and subway tile in a different unit. They also did a beautiful job on this. Of particular note is that in both of these kitchens the slabs of white quartz were of the same dye lot. With someone we used previously, the slabs were not the same white, so this was a big deal to us, and Choice Granite came through. So why the 2 stars? The workers left the leftovers of the quartz countertops in the 2nd floor apartment, and they are *very* heavy. My husband has incurable cancer, and there is no way that he and I can get them down the stairs ourselves. He contacted Greg three times about this and heard nothing back. Finally I called Greg and said that I didn't want to leave a bad review, but I would have no choice if the slabs were not removed. He apologized and said, "I told the workers three times to remove them. I didn't know it wasn't done," and he promised that he would be over that week to get them removed himself. That was in very early September. It is now September 21, and the slabs are still in the apartment. We now have approved applicants who want to move in October 1. If the slabs get removed before they move in, I will try to revise this from a 2 to a 4. It will not be a 5 because we shouldn't have had to go to these lengths. read more

Choice Granite was a good choice in our home remodel. We wanted a particular brand of quartz (Aurea Stone) and we were able to put Greg in touch with Modul Marble in Anaheim to purchase it. We absolutely love the quartz! Greg was always easy to get a hold of to ask questions and talk about the project. They have a lot of other jobs going on and Juan flaked on us once for a measurement day, but it wasn't a big deal. We had Juan and his team do the installation. They were very patient and explained things to us as they were going. We asked a LOT of questions, so Juan did a great job answering them. Took 2 days to install due to all of our countertops, but it was a great experience. We had Juan put his level on the countertops after installation to make sure they were all level. I would give them 5 stars, but unfortunately Juan had to come back a few times because the island countertop was not sitting flat on the cabinets due to the size of the plywood subtop. Juan was willing to come out multiple times to get it taken off and fixed. Overall we love our countertops and Choice Granite was very easy to work with. Don't buy from this company. They run an unethical business, Greg and Joe do not care about their customers. We hired them to do our kitchen and we have had issues from their workers not showing up, to hiding damage, cutting counters the wrong size, leaving gaps, even spitting on our counters after we had caught that them trying to paint over a chip they had made during install all during COVID, leaving our kitchen unfinished after Multiple attempts to reach them and get them to do the ethical thing, and no response. This company does not finish work, their workers are not monitored. Do yourself the favor and hire another company. We will be reporting them to all city as business authorities, as well as taking them to court. If you don't want this to potentially happen to you just find another company to hire. Your company is a joke your response is a joke - you have all the emails and Joe you refused to respond - by the way your obligation is to finish the work not your employees - In every email you apologized and took ownership of the fact that you failed. For Mothers Day, my husband gave me a gorgeous vintage/antique stove. Knowing it would not fit with our current kitchen design and the fact that our current cabinets were totally falling apart after only 5 years from installation. Phi Phi spent a lot of time assisting us in picking out our cabinets, countertops and floors. Once everything was picked out, we sat with Greg to go over the costs. I decided to gut my condo kitchen. After consulting a dozen contractors, I knew Greg would be the perfect partner for my project at the moment we met. Greg was extremely patient from the start. As this was my very first remodeling venture, Greg spent the time to explain everything, each step of the way. Throughout the entire process, Greg always kept me updated, accommodated my busy schedule, and made himself available to answer my questions and concerns. We hired Greg's company (Pasadena branch) to install strand bamboo hardwood flooring in our new condominium. We were delighted with the final result. Sung took care to make his work beautiful, fitting quarter rounds and risers around all the edges, and installing elegant crown molding along all the walls as well. The stairs were a particular work of art, with many pieces of hardwood sawed and fitted back together in an intricate way. I've included pictures below. The prices was reasonable as well, and Greg was proactive and forthright in communicating any changes along the way. For example, because we live in a condo, we needed to glue in a cork underlayment. Unexpectedly, we discovered that we had a concrete floor underneath us, not a wood floor as we originally believed. This meant they had to put down two layers of glue instead of one, a long and laborious process. Greg made sure we only paid for the added cost of materials, and not labor. He also let us go through many different hardwood floor samples, allowing us to use our own vendor/supplier if we wanted (though his vendor ultimately gave us the best price, with excellent quality); and letting us return unused flooring. The service and quality was way above and beyond what we would have gotten at any big box store (which had been our original inclination). I would highly recommend paying Greg's store a visit. I almost didn't believe all the glowing reviews and so checked out a few granite spots before checking out choice granite. But since choice is so close to our house we ended up popping by one weekend afternoon and had a great experience. Greg was really straight forward about pricing and options and gave us a hard copy quote on the spot. He even called his granite source to find out specifics, availability regarding the type of granite we wanted. I also really liked his experienced he is - we could tell he does kitchens a ton and was knowledgeable and confident. When we went home we realized that Greg was the most professional and inexpensive options and so ended up going with him. I'm posting this as a public service, please do your own measurements and double check their work if you choose to hire their service. In my experience, they were unprofessional, threatening, and unfair. If you need proof, feel free to message me and I'm happy to forward you emails and texts so you can determine this for yourself as a neutral party. If you are still on the fence, you might want to check and see if they are licensed. My bet is that they aren't, from what I can find. In our experience, we needed new countertops. I had done my best measurements, but as I'm not a professional, I asked Greg to come by and measure the space himself. I was trusting his judgment. Initially, he was so kind, professional, accommodating, and provided the best quote from all the places that I've researched. I paid in cash for a cash discount, 1/2 upfront and 1/2 upon completion. He assured me that I would not need to hire anyone else except for a plumber to reconnect the faucet lines, and that patch and paint is not included. I understood and we were on our way. Juan came with his team, and they were very nice in doing the job. He had cut the parts of the countertop and put them on, and told me that the wall that supports the countertop would be longer than the countertop. He insisted that it wasn't a big deal, but I'm sorry but I think this is a big deal. Would any of you want a countertop that ends short of the wall that supports it? He insisted on letting him finish the work, and that he would provide a discount to get this fixed and that we'll fix that part later. Reluctantly I agreed. The countertop is complete, and there is a piece of wall cut out. I had reached out to some other contractors to see how much it would cost to shave that wall down a couple inches. Quotes were over 1k, the cheapest was $800, and some even did not recommend that we do this. Many of them said, that seems to be an error on the contractor that installed your countertops. They should just be replacing that with the right size that would cover your space. Juan comes back to finish gluing the countertop and asks for the remaining balance. I advised that this wall situation needs to be addressed. I call Greg to discuss this, and he gets very upset and tells me that they are not responsible for "patch and paint." He demands the remaining balance and got very frustrated and angry with me when I was trying to get an explanation as to why we are in this situation in the first place. He was so exasperated and frustrated with me, and said that he didn't want to talk in circles, but I never got an answer which is why I kept asking him why this was not brought up when he came over to do the measurements. He offered an explanation that these things are not found until after demo. I'm sorry, but our walls did not move. This then escalated into very threatening texts and emails, about he's done with me and that he's taking me to small claims court. I'm trying to explain the situation and come to a fair conclusion. I'm sorry, but I don't think it is fair for me to pay you in full when there's a chunk missing from my wall and it extends out further than my countertop. I have no explanations, and this is, in my opinion, not a "patch and paint" job. I was more than willing to pay for the countertops less the cost it would be to get my wall fixed, or he had the option of sending someone to fix it if he felt like he could do it cheaper. He demanded money the day of, or else he was filing for small claims court. I asked for time so that I can have some other contractors come and see what was completed to get their perspective. Was this really my responsibility to measure this and make sure that the contractors provided the correct sized counters? I had asked friends who were lawyers to look over our contract and get their thoughts. He was not having it, and my fiance just wanted me to pay him to get rid of him, but it just did not seem fair and I felt completely bullied due to my inexperience. Although he didn't threaten my life, he used threatening language to the point where I felt like I needed to go to the police station and make sure that they were aware. He knew where I lived, and he threatened to get the money "one way or another, trust him." It seemed so inappropriate considering the circumstances. If there was a disagreement, I was hoping that we could talk about it in a civil and professional way and come to a fair compromise. Unfortunately, I'm out of space for the review, but long story short, he sent someone to patch my wall (it is now crooked, imagine the wall coming up from the ground, then sharply angling in so that it doesn't extend past the countertop) and we paid him the remainder (less $150) just to end the suffering on both ends. If you choose to move forward, I truly wish you have a better experience. Please document everything by email (texts cannot be used in court) and do yourself a favor and check the measurements too. read more
