We wanted to get our carpets cleaned but were hesitant to do so because in the past, we'd hire someone like Stanley Steemer and they'd vacuum and leave in 30 minutes. Really wanted someone with great attention to detail and would do a thorough job. Decided to look on Yelp to see which companies around us had positive reviews. Classic Carpet Cleaning has some amazing reviews and now I understand why. Matt was so quick to respond to my Yelp messages regarding pricing and availability. I actually felt kinda bad because he was so responsive and it was during the weekend! Pricing was clear and setting up an appointment was so easy and extremely professional with email and text reminders. On the day of the appointment, Matt showed up exactly at the time we scheduled. Such a nice person! Just absolutely love his energy and personality, so upbeat and cheerful. He even whistles while he works, lol! I can tell a lot of his positive reviews on Yelp are because he is just a really interesting person who does exceptional work. We talked about his amazing work career and I was so surprised when he told me about how he started doing carpet cleaning part time for a while, and how it was his favorite job because it was so fulfilling. That's when he decided to do it full time, despite having other career opportunities. You can tell someone who enjoys what he's doing is going to do a better job at the task. I can't say enough good things about our carpet cleaning experience with Matt. Everything was just positive from beginning to end, and our carpets are cleaner and fluffier. ^_^ Matt was even upbeat and friendly to the driver who came and picked up some donated items at our door, calling him "Boss" and telling him to have a good day. I just think it speaks volumes when you see a business owner treating others with respect and encouragement. He and Philipe cleaned them in 1.15 minutes. He left behind 2 floor fans to help dry them. I also have ceiling fans. Running in high. Carpets dried in about 6 hours or so. Ash uses a truck mounted vacuum, he also covers the corners of your home so that the hose they use for hot water extraction does not rub against or chip the paint or wood. We recently purchased a new home and needed someone to professionally clean the carpets before we…read moremoved in. We reached out to several carpet companies for quotes, but most of them gave us prices over the phone without ever seeing the house. Sam was the only one who insisted on coming out in person to inspect everything first--and thank goodness he did. He arrived with a black light and immediately discovered that the existing carpet throughout our home was saturated with pet urine from the previous owners. He even pulled the carpet back to show us that the urine had soaked through the pad and into the baseboards. He was completely honest and told us that even if we paid him $1,000, he wouldn't clean the carpet because it simply wasn't salvageable. That level of honesty is hard to find these days. Instead of trying to sell us a service that wouldn't work, Sam helped us make the right decision by replacing the carpet. His pricing was very fair, and there was never any pressure. We chose our carpet on a Friday, met with Sam the following Tuesday to sign the contract and pay the deposit, and his crew was already at our house demoing the old carpet that same day. The project was expected to be completed by Sunday, but they finished an entire day early on Saturday. The installation came out beautifully. The carpet is incredibly soft and plush--it honestly feels like we're walking on clouds. The craftsmanship is excellent, from the seamless installation throughout the rooms to the beautifully finished stairs. Everything looks clean, professional, and was completed with great attention to detail. Communication throughout the entire process was outstanding. Whenever we called or texted Sam, he responded promptly and kept us informed every step of the way. To top it all off, Sam stands behind his work. He provides a one-year warranty, and if the carpet stretches or anything needs adjusting, they'll come back and make it right at no charge. In November 2025, I scheduled our annual carpet and tile cleaning. I requested a specific technician who had always done a great job, but someone else arrived on the day of service. He did a thorough job, and the carpet & tile were clean. However, afterward we discovered damage to the baseboards throughout our downstairs wherever there was tile. The boards were swollen and wet to the touch. Because EcoClean advertises a 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee, I emailed them within 24 hours to report the problem. I received a call from the owner, Rob Spiker. Unfortunately, the conversation was rude, aggressive, and combative. I was repeatedly interrupted and had difficulty getting a word in. We ultimately agreed that I would send pictures and video of the damage. I told my husband about the call, and he immediately contacted Rob. Rob told him, "I think I upset your wife." His conversation with my husband was noticeably calmer and more solution-oriented. They agreed that each of us would obtain a bid for replacing the damaged baseboards & then discuss a solution. We invited Rob to come to our home and assess the damage himself. He declined, saying it wasn't necessary because we were long-time customers. Before we could obtain the bid, we received a text from EcoClean stating that they would take no responsibility for the damage. We again invited Rob to come inspect the damage, but he responded that he would "happily decline." He then accused us of trying to scam him into paying for baseboards that had supposedly been damaged by years of pet urine. That accusation was particularly frustrating because we have eight years of EcoClean service records, and none of those service records documented damaged baseboards. We ultimately had our attorney contact Rob with a bid and demand for payment. His written response was: "No thanks, Total scam!" Rob told us that in all his years in business, he had never received a complaint like ours. I encourage anyone considering EcoClean to read the 1- and 2-star reviews on Google & Yelp, particularly: * Jim J., Rocklin, CA -- 8/29/2020 * Dana K., Rocklin, CA -- 9/11/2023 * Marcie W., San Francisco -- 1/24/2017 (He made her cry!) I noticed similarities in the way some of these customers described their experiences dealing with the owner. After we were unable to resolve the matter directly, we filed a claim in Small Claims Court. In June 2026, we appeared in court. The judge heard both sides & ruled in our favor, finding EcoClean liable for the damages to our home & awarding us $1,595. The judgment gave EcoClean 30 days to pay. The payment did not arrive within that period, so we sent an email with a copy of the judgment explaining that we would pursue the available next steps if payment was not made. We ultimately received the $1,595 judgment -- but in three monthly installments from July through September 2026, rather than in one payment. This entire situation could have been avoided. If Rob had simply refunded our cleaning fee, come to our home to inspect the damage, or offered another reasonable solution, we would have been satisfied. Instead, a problem that could have been resolved between a business & a nearly 10-year customer ended up in Small Claims Court. Based on our experience, I would encourage anyone considering EcoClean to read the 1- & 2-star reviews on Google & Yelp before hiring them. Pay particular attention to how complaints are handled & how responsibility is addressed when customers report problems. For us, the cleaning itself was not the issue. The way the company handled the damage & treated us afterward was.

Later I was told the technician got stuck in traffic but still not going to make it. The company repeatedly described communication as "difficult," despite never attempting to contact me before leaving the room unfinished. The refund process also felt unnecessarily defensive. The initial refund offer didn't even fully cover the unfinished room and service fee, and only increased after extended back-and-forth discussions. Mistakes happen, but clear communication and accountability matter. Disappointing experience overall, especially after being so hopeful based on the reviews. A refund of $80 was paid. Now I get to pay another person $125 tomorrow to complete the job. Yegor and his tech offered to come next week. However the furniture has all been moved.
