Jim and his staff are just the best. My vehicle's hood and front end got destroyed by a plow - looked like a massive boulder dropped on it - and they made it look brand new. He was very nice to allow the tow to drop it off and allow me to park it there while insurance was pending. He was also patient when my insurance company wanted to make adjustments; creating those detailed quotes takes up a lot of time. I felt I had to write a review about Jim and Sierra Auto Body. I have a Tesla and as I was driving home from Mammoth to LA I hit something which broke some panel on the underside of the car. I called a few places who were hesitant to even look at it. Except when Jim called me back he sounded confident he could do something to get me home. He clearly told me he could not fix it, but reckoned he could patch it enough to get me home. So I went with him because he sounded confident about what could be done. True to his word he had the patching done in about 10 minutes. Reminded me again it was not fixed but good enough to get home. Then he wouldn't take payment for the work. So I tipped the mechanic that did the itch instead. These guys were confident, honest, and very polite through the whole experience. Just an add on from above. Jim, the owner, called me the next morning to make sure I had gotten home safely and with the patch still in tact. Now that is Service and Customer Care for you. read more

Best service in town! It was 4pm and we were driving through town as a storm was hitting us only to find that our drivers window won't roll up. My two year old son was getting drenched as wind was blowing in his face. With another five hours ahead of us we knew we needed to find a way to get the window up. No one in town was willing to help up except for the guy that works in the office at Sierra Auto. He was super cool, friendly and fixed our car. His service was over and beyond. My car had minor damage from a parking lot collision (BTW not my fault). I interviewed two other Bishop auto body shops, and Jim Reynolds/Sierra Auto Body was by far the most communicative, informative, and personable rep that I spoke with. He was able to take my vehicle in almost immediately, and because it required no replacement parts the car was repaired, painted, buffed, AND detailed (what a treat!) in four working days, and looks better than when I brought it in. I hit a perfectly positioned icebox about 31 miles south from Bishop at around 7:30pm at speed of about 65~70mph i think... Temperature was dropping to 40s and it was dark. My Sienna front bumper crushed, and it also broke off a part of the radiator and the radiator was completely drained. I had three children 2,4,and 7 and me and ma wife was calling here and there helplessly. It was dark and waited two hrs to wait for a tow truck to tow. Long story short, God sent us three angels, 1. Bob from AAA who towed our car who also arranged low priced hotel for my family and arranged mechanic shop, and dropped me off at the motel. I was so psychologically pain when this happened, he shared some of this life stories and how he encountered so many accidents, calmed me down. 2. Officer Michener who waited and protected our family until the tow truck came, and also gave our family a ride to the motel that Bob has arranged for us, and 3. Mark who fixed our car. He not only fixed our car, he gave us his Toyota Sequoia while fixing our car so that we were able to explore the whole Bishop, museum, and nearby fall colors. I hope you read this. City of Bishop has autobody and mechanic shop that will give you peace of mind. Thanks, my worst nightmare turned into best vacation of the year for my family. Oh the car was fixed perfectly, that I had no problem driving 5hrs all the way to home here in Orange County. Sierra Auto Body gave me top notch service right from the first contact. While vacationing in June Lake, I hit a deer while on the way to some hot springs. From drop off they were very quick to get the estimate to insurance and get the ball rolling. I received great communication throughout the time they had my vehicle, emails sent with updates from insurance and text messages with pictures of the new parts and progress on the repairs. They would have been done with our vehicle, a Nissan NV3500, but the Nissan dealership sent them the wrong parts 3 weeks in a row! Sierra Auto Body went to bat for us with insurance and fought for higher quality parts compared to what insurance wanted him to use. I cannot reccomend this shop enough if you are in need of professional repairs. I vacation to the area a number of times each year, and while I hope to never need my vehicle repaired, at least i know where I will go! read more

I live in Mammoth so I started by getting an estimate locally. It was for $1800 and they would need to car a minimum of 5 days. I got my 2nd estimate at Sierra and they came in at $1400 and only needed the car overnight. They were pleasant to work with and did great work. Bring your car here! read more

This review is regarding my initial customer service/drop off with Mark. After I pick up my Jeep, I have a feeling that I may need to petition Yelp for 6 stars. Warning: this review is not meant for Santa loving children. In a nutshell, Blitzen hates being the last of the pack/bottom of the totem pole etc. and has unfortunately become suicidal. His method was to run full force into the side of my Jeep Wrangler. Being the overachiever Blitzen is, he managed to shatter my front windshield and leave his calling card(fur included) on every panel of the driver's side of my car while also giving a special bonus souvenir to my wheel well and rearview mirror. Finding a shop in the Mammoth area is not easy. Fast forward to Mark: Mark returned my call within 5 minutes, had some amazing customer service skills and a sense of humor to boot. I particularly appreciate the sense of humor since mine is clearly lacking. He was able to get my car in asap. He suggested a towing service and gave me instructions on how to make this the easiest drop off ever. All the while, he had me laughing at my fabulous misfortune. If you can use Sierra Body shop, then I would make every effort to...well every effort up to taking out one of Santa's chauffers. Mark, you are amazing but I'm still truly concerned about that boss*** of yours that won't give you this 3 day weekend off ;). Oh and for anyone who has decided not to send their letter to Santa due to Blitzen's misfortune and the possible cancellation of Christmas; he got up and walked away. Hopefully you won't need auto body repair, but if you do this is the place to go in the Inyo/Mono county area. I live in Mammoth Lakes and chose this shop when I had minor body damage from backing into a snow wall ( who knows what was under the wall) after a recent snowstorm in my Honda CRV. I read a lot of good reviews about Sierra AutoBody and decided it looked like the best choice in this area. When I did go for an estimate I realized I should still stop by the other auto body repairs in Bishop. Junior was very helpful and made me feel assured Sierra Autobody Works would get the job done most efficiently and he stated when they were done with my Honda CRV it would look like no damage ever occurred. Jr told me if I decided to have the repair done a weeks' advance appointment could be made as they had a busy shop. I did notice quite a few vehicles in the process of being repaired. I realized I should still stop by the other auto body repairs in Bishop, yet when I stopped by the other auto body shops I noticed few vehicles waiting repair and that made my final decision to stay with Sierra Autobody because having all the business spoke for itself. There is a good reason everyone chooses Sierra Autobody. When I picked up my vehicle it was just as Jr and a staff member stated: It looked like no damage ever occurred'. They even had it washed.
