Headed south and into independence, the turbo on my 06 Chevy duramax went south in a huge way. AAA couldn't help in the area so I reached out to Britt's in Bishop as they had great reviews. They gave me the number of a heavy hauler and help me get the tow lined up super fast which was huge. They were great with communication that it would take a week or so to get to it which was totally fine as we had another ride home and I knew it wasn't going to be a simple fix. They helped me with storing the RV while the work was being done. They ended up having to completely replace the turbo, some lines and hoses and a few other small things. Also noticed that my frion was a little low and with the hot drive home, topped it off for me. This isn't a quick or easy job on this truck and the attention to detail showed in the end result. I nervously hitched up the RV after they finished and headed 200 miles south in 105 heat and she runs like brand new again. The entire crew there was super helpful and nice throughout the entire process. Moral of the story, if you're in the area at all and need help you can trust, Not only are they the best but probably the only ones with the combo of knowledge, a massive and impressive shop, friendly peeps and great pricing. I brought my Audi in to Shorty's for a routine service and to see if Rob could help me out with the catalytic converter codes I'd been running. The Audi mechanics wanted to replace the catalytic converter and the o2 sensor, which would've cost several thousands of dollars. Rob was super honest and upfront with me about Audis not being Shorty's bread and butter, but that he could help by giving it a diagnostic, figure out what things needed attention, and decide if it was time for me to shop around for another car. In the end, he recommended that I shouldn't default to replacing the cat or the sensor and hypothesized that it was a vacuum leak, also putting together a list of priority items--which Nicole explained in detail--for my independent euro car mechanic in San Francisco to go through and replace with Audi parts. My mechanic in the city read Rob's report and agreed with everything, remarking at how thorough it was. It turns out, the car did indeed have a cracked vacuum hose. He used Rob's notes to fix all the other little things that needed attention, and now I'm back to having a perfectly running car with 160K miles on it. It's really nice to have a shop out here that can pinch hit for this kind of troubleshooting and, even if they prefer not to get into some things themselves, provide a real honest and detailed diagnosis of the likely causes and solutions are. We narrowed the sound down to the transfer case and drove the truck to the Chevron in Mammoth. They put it up on the lift, and confirmed the transfer case and recommended Jim Allen's Auto-Matics in Bishop, CA. I called and spoke with Brett the owner of Allen's Auto-Matics. I made an appointment with him for Monday July 6th and delivered my truck to him. Brett also diagnosed the swishing sound and unfortunately for me, the Ram needed a rebuilt transfer case. What fast service, in on Monday, July 6, and out on Wednesday July 8. Thank you Brett for taking me in on short notice and getting me back on the road like a pit crew at a NASCAR race. We went on a family trip with our Tesla to Mammoth during the Thanksgiving break. We encountered a…read moresevere winter storm, and the car's aero shield (i.e., front skid plate) was damaged. Half of the shield popped open and was frozen in place by about four inches of ice. We took our car to Warren's Auto Repair due to the great reviews, and it was a good decision. Willie, the technician on-site at the time, showed me where to take the car to get the ice removed and helped me patch up the shield enough to get home for a proper fix later. So supposedly the RSA had called this place (only towing company in Bishop according to my google search) 9AM in the morning but maybe the quoted price was too high so RSA ended up asking another place in Sparks NV to come and get me - which didn't work because I waited for hours and then after a lot of back and forth that company decided to cancel around noon. I was pretty upset and called Billie's to ask if they are available and how much it would cost, where Billie's staff said $475 for the tow - now I understand why the RSA had originally asked and decided to try something else, that does sound pretty steep for a tow that's only 8 miles away from town and towing the car only 8 miles to town. LOL if you are the only place in town you can name whatever price you want. Anyways I was running out of options and really wanted to get the car to the town tire shop before they closed for the weekend so I called RSA again and insisted that they use Billie's instead of some unreliable place 100+ miles away and eventually they called Billie's and got someone to come in 1.5 hours. Once the tow driver arrived things moved really quickly and I got to the tire shop just 5 minutes before the technician was about to take off for the weekend. Driver was courteous and friendly.

From the very first call, the owner, Billie Edmund Lozano, was defensive and rude, refusing to give me a straight ETA. After I canceled the tow, he began calling me back-to-back, threatening to impound my trailer and "ruin my life." When I told him I wouldn't be strong-armed into doing business with him, he suddenly changed his story--from being 3-4 hours away to claiming he was "already on site" so he could charge a show-up fee. It escalated further when he claimed the store owner where my trailer was parked had asked him to impound it and that I had 15 minutes to get there--knowing full well I was over 4 hours away. At that point, I had no choice but to call the police and file a report in case my trailer was stolen or damaged before another tow company arrived. This behavior was completely unprofessional, dishonest, and aggressive. Avoid this company at all costs. No customer should ever have to deal with threats and intimidation from a tow operator.
