I've been a resident at Siena Park since 2020 (with one year spent abroad) and when this place used to be awesome. I genuinely love the location and many of the residents. But the building itself and management team have gone downhill year after year with amenities, services, and security all degrading while prices have increased well above the market. The management team likes to boast about dumb "amenities" like Bluetooth shower heads that don't work. Things are constantly breaking in the building, and it takes management months (looking at you garage doors, gym equipment, coffee machine, and common area A/C - during peak summer) or years (gym lights) to fix. The parking garage doors break often, and it takes months for them to be repaired. The last time the garage doors were broken and remained open, cars were broken into and vandalized. Only then did management promptly fix the doors. The garage doors are once again broken (over a month) and management is still charging residents the monthly $150 parking fee. There's been no urgency to fix the garage doors despite 19+ cars recently broken into in the garage next door. Siena Park advertises controlled access parking an amenity on the website but this is false or misleading advertising under consumer protection law (e.g., Virginia Consumer Protection Act - VCPA), even if not intentionally deceptive. They cannot advertise a security feature, charge for it, then not maintain it. Management is a revolving door, inconsistent, and the current manager is the worst of the worst. She constantly demonstrates a lack of responsibility, has terrible customer service and is incredibly rude. She has little consideration for good tenants. When I raised concern with my windows which were collecting a significant amount of condensation which began spilling onto the windowsills, my maintenance ticket was almost immediately closed without resolution. I then spoke to one of the maintenance crew and was told it was a building-wide issue, and other residents have submitted tickets and complained. Residents were advised to: 1. use a dehumidifier, if they own one; 2. turn on the fan on the thermostat for 10-15mins; and/or 3. use the exhaust in the bathrooms when showering. When I continued to press management noting that I do not own a dehumidifier and don't plan on investing in one, I was further advised that I could install thermal drapes at my own cost to help keep the windows from being so drafty. The above guidance is really unacceptable. Residents are being asked to bear additional costs to "fix" a known building-wide issue instead of the building actually fixing the issue by upgrading/replacing the faulty windows. It is the landlord's responsibility to maintain fit and habitable premises, maintain the premises in such a condition as to prevent the accumulation of moisture, make all repairs and do whatever is necessary to put and keep the premises in a fit and habitable condition, and maintain in good and safe working order and condition all electrical, plumbing, sanitary, heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, and other facilities and appliances, including elevators, supplied or required to be supplied - among other duties. Nowhere in the rental agreement does it state that residents shall be expected and/or responsible to absorb additional costs for maintenance or repairs for issues not caused or created by the resident. Packages: The front desk concierge who ensured packages were securely placed in Amazon lockers, the package room, or in the package room refrigerator (i.e., food deliveries, home meal prep kits like Hello Fresh) was replaced with an ineffective "ButterflyMX" system. Now packages are haphazardly left out in the open foyer, on the old concierge desk, or next to the package room.

As a returning resident to Siena Park, I am extremely upset to share that the current apartment I moved into was falsely advertised on the website. In summary, the apartment does not match the floorplan management claimed it had at all. It is clear that the apartment management either does not know the true floor plan and square footage of my unit, or that someone made a mistake in listing the unit and I am being made to pay for it. November 20th: I applied to Unit 212 at Siena Park. The floorplan (floor plan a06) stated the unit was 640 sqft and had a balcony, walk-in closet, and washer and dryer outside of the bedroom. November 30th: The lease was countersigned. December 5th: I asked management for a copy of the floor plan as it was not available on the website. They sent the a06 floor plan once again, which stated that the unit was 640 sqft and had a balcony, walk-in closet, and washer and dryer outside of the bedroom. January 25th: I move into the unit to find that it did not match the floor plan it was advertised with. There was no balcony, no walk-in closet, the washer and dryer were inside the bedroom, and the unit appeared smaller than 642 sqft. The property manager Yesmin met with me later that night and explained that the a06 floor plan for the apartment was correct (it is not), and that there is a special notice on the website that 2nd floor units differ from their depicted floor plans on the website and do not have balconies (no such notice exists currently nor when I applied). She also claimed that the unit was offered at $225 below market value. January 26th: Management explained that all they could do is waive our parking charges or have us move into an apartment much higher than the current rent for our unit. They also sent in a floor plan completely different than the a06 floor plan (2.04 in the image attached) claiming that it is the floor plan for the unit. The second floor plan they sent still does not match our unit, as there is no door separating the bedroom from the closet area with the washer and dryer. This floorplan also claims the unit is nearly 100sqft larger than the original a06 floor plan sent to me! I was very excited to move back to this community, but I feel I have been locked into a unit that was not what I asked for. This debacle has shown nothing but a lack of competence and a lack of accountability on the part of management.

I am updating my review and rating (from 2 to 4 stars). The person that many people disliked left. As a result, my resident experience improved. Some of the concierge people that had an attitude left as well. Now, the staff overall is way more pleasant and easygoing. They also fixed the bbq grills on the rooftop. People were using it on Independence Day. Lastly, they now have an Amazon Hub (code-controlled lockers) in the lobby by the offices and coffee machine. Definitely loved that. Thank you for making these improvements Siena Park. I will miss you. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - There are things I love about this apartment and things that I absolutely hate. The apartment is nice and secured, for the most part (Jeremy is GREAT. The rooftop was pretty and clean every time I went up there (though others apparently have found pet poop up there). The lobby was always clean (in my experience, though others have complained about it being dirty?). There's a Starbucks machine on the first floor. There's a free apartment fitness center on the second floor and an Xsport Express gym on the first floor (for paying members). They have a garage where lévela B2 and B3 are for residents only. They almost always have a concierge in the lobby. The concierge almost always opens the locked lobby doors for you when they know you and see you coming. They can deliver packages and leave them IN your apartment. They have a room with a fax machine, printer, and Mac computers. They host seasonal events for the residents. The bad... it costs $100/month to park in the garage, which is common in this area. Customer service is hit or miss. They can be VERY nice and professional, but sometimes they are dismissive and make smart comments that sting. The bbq grills on the rooftop didn't work the two times I tried to use them. The pool is smaller than most apartment pools I've seen. The apartment has a bar/restaurant in its first floor, so you can hear drunk fights and yells late in the night, prompting residents to call the police (which has happened this year). You can hear the fire alarm from the apartment next door, which sometimes go off late at night. I remember it going off every so often when I first moved in. I would always wake up late at night smh. People like to drag race and play music loudly by the apartment late at night, waking us up. The garage level B1 is basically free for all to use because the garage entry/exit has been broken for a while, so residents don't even need to use their keycard that they pay for on a monthly basis ($100). I absolutely HATE the people who charge us for using the parking garage. They like to play games and don't answer questions. They keep dodging my questions. Despite all the bad stuff I mentioned, I still liked the apartment because of its convenient location and it was nice enough for me. Plus, it was the cheapest apartment I could find in Arlington when I first signed the lease... the cheapest one that was nice, conveniently located, and came with a garage, concierge, and washer/dryer. Other nearby apartments charged way more and didn't even have a washer/dryer in each apartment. Also, their walls are thicker than the walls of other apartments. I'm giving two stars because they've pissed me off enough times.

The View is only motivated by charging you as much as possible and sometimes providing you with the minimum legal standard of a habitable apartment. Don't expect more from this place. We were nickel and dimed on our security deposit and all our friends that moved had the same experience. They charged us more than we felt we owed, but strangely could not reach the staff at the view, and were ignored. They just want you to pay your bill and not argue here. For 8 months straight, our neighbors played music or the TV from 10PM till 2 AM on and off during the week and weekend. I had concierge go and warn them to stop like 8 times and filed numerous noise complaints, which I felt were not addressed properly as the issue persisted for as long as it did. Even the band that played during the day above us was quieter and more considerate than this guy. They did not care to fix this, because our neighbor was a paying resident like us and that hurts their bottom line. It doesn't matter if you break the rules here. For every problem we had here, it felt like they just want to you live with it. Just like the roaches that infested the building for a time, or when our AC was broken for a month and our apartment reached temps as high as 90 F. They couldn't believe the problem wasn't fixed. This is the experience you will get here, they just want the problem (you) to go away and pay your rent in peace. Literal garbage landed onto our balcony all throughout our stay from other residents tossing their trash from the roof or their balcony. I've seen report cards, boxes and dental floss thrown onto my balcony. It was disgusting. The resident events went downhill in quality and effort. The community is also not really here anymore. Everyone seems angry, and people drive like maniacs in the garage. The elevators are often broken down and in need of repair, often putting residents into a constraint of 1 elevator during our time here When we told the office we'd move out and afterwards made maintenance request, it took them three days to fix it. And they only did so after we went to the leasing office to address it. It was fixed twenty minutes after speaking to the leasing office We booked our loading dock slot and were told a week later that another person reserved it (by email, not via the reservation system). We were informed that it was a glitch, but it shouldn't take two weeks for a glitch in the system to be noticed. They prioritize at all costs, new residents. Once you've sent in your notice to move out, you become chopped liver. If you're thinking of the view, go somewhere cheaper. They raise rents 5% or more every year, and don't provide more value in return. Not to mention the apartment industry in DC is full of price collusion. Go across the street, live somewhere else. You can have a View anywhere.

Besides the construction, the building and staff are great.

Other tenants are professional and respectful. The not so good: Parking is a nightmare. You will be charged $180 monthly for a spot 4 levels down. It sometimes takes 5+ minutes just to drive all the way out of the parking complex. Additionally, there have been numerous instances where I have been late to work due to the garage door not opening. The mail room is a disaster. It is a tiny closet that is more often than not left unsecured. There have also been several times where packages are left outside of the "secure" mail room due to it being full. I have had packages that were lost due to this and management was less than helpful. The noise situation is not great. I can always hear my neighbors through the front door leading to the hallway. Again, not acceptable given how expensive these apartments are. The other doors within the apartment are extremely cheap and thin. You can really tell they cut costs in these areas. There are also no fan exhausts in the bathrooms... There are many nice apartment complexes in Ballston and the surrounding area. I wish that I would have rented with one of them instead.

First day I moved in I was towed out of the garage!!! because I was over the line. The leasing office failed to mention if I parked over the line I would be towed. Paid around $200 to get my car out. Also that morning at 8am I woke up to demolition noises happening above me. Apparently they were redoing the apartment on the floor above us to the right. I did not know that since we didn't start getting apartment emails until we moved in. I was exhausted from moving, having my car towed, and having to listen to those sounds all week long... the demolition sounds still were happening until I moved out because they were redoing the gym and then next the lobby. There are always some sort of noises echoing up through the building from somewhere else. More about the garage. There were many times when I would come back late at night and there would be absolutely no parking. I had to park on the street many times and wake up early in the morning at 8am to move my car. It really depended on how many spots they over leased to everyone since it's only 3 floors. The spots are sooo tight that I even scrapped the side of my car on a column! It was awful. Another time when I was coming out of the garage, my tire hit the side of the ramp and my tire popped! I didn't know until I was on the highway and smoke was coming out of it. It was so close to flying off but thank goodness. It was $1,000 in damages just to replace the tires and even more if you include the scrape!! I wrote a letter to management and thankfully they fixed the side of the ramp that was clearly broken with some concrete. Second, for lease renewal, they put that our 2 bedroom renewal was $4,100.... crazy! Our previous lease was $3,300/3,400. With the amount of construction sounds I heard that never ended. I felt like it wasn't worth it. No one leased our apartment until after we moved out. I checked the website and saw it had dropped to $3,050. I was mind boggled since our lease renewal was around $4,000! Third, the sunroom would either be freezing or so hot! The windows overall were very poor insulation. In the winter even in my room it would be cold! Anyone looking to lease the sunroom as a room, I wouldn't do it. I loved using the sunroom and tried to put 2 different heaters in there to use it in the winter but didn't work and one of my heaters is very powerful and had a fan. The temperature would get down to 59 degrees in there sometimes. Even with the apartments heat on, sooo cold. In the summer, you also really sweat in there. If you keep the doors shut though, it does help with keeping your inside apartment warm/cold. Fourth, so much dusttttt. I haven't seen a place so dusty. I had maintenance come to replace the air vent filter in our apartment and fix my bathroom fan dust filter but my bathroom would get sooo dusty in 1-2 days. It was crazy. I hadn't seen a place get so dusty so fast. I used an air purifier in my room cause I wasn't sure if it was good to be breathing that in. Please clean the air ducts to the whole building!!! I'm sure that's why it was so dusty. For the washer and dryer. My clothes wouldn't get fully washed. The dryer also didn't dry our clothes very fast which leads me to believe the vent that runs through the building for moving the air hasn't been cleaned out.... Fifth, you cannot have heat or air at the same time. The maintenance has to come change it in between seasons to either heat or cool air and it would be miserable. Either way too hot or too cold depending. I hated that nest thermostat. I would login and then couple weeks later it would log me out. Happened all the time. It tricks you into thinking it's new when it isn't. Shout out to the maintenance team though!! They always do a great job and are awesome! They respond to your requests in a day. Front desk staff was always sad and in a bad mood! I felt bad for going to ask for packages. Only good things were that the bedrooms are very big which was a plus, everything was newly renovated for the apartments, and the noise levels were good. Didn't hear too much through the walls.

I am not exaggerating when I say that there is loud, intrusive construction noise almost every single day on weekdays, and this was the case for nearly 2 years straight until I moved out. Most days it's "just" hammering, but since the walls are paper thin it's incredibly loud and reverberates throughout the entire building, regardless of where the actual construction is taking place. Other days you can hear incredibly loud drilling which makes relaxation and concentration impossible. Here's just a sample of what you'll probably hear on any given day: https://streamable.com/xxbjqm; https://streamable.com/yydvnp The apartments themselves and amenities are actually quite nice and the front desk staff is wonderful, so it's a shame that the place is borderline uninhabitable. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy because of how bad the constant noise is for your mental health and sanity. The building is nearly 40 years old (built in 1986), but you wouldn't know that once you're in the apartment units themselves. All of the units are fully renovated- new windows, doors, finishes, appliances, everything, and we almost never hear our neighbors from inside the apartment. The elevators are probably the one sore spot of this building- frequent outages that can last for weeks at a time, but there are 6 in the building overall so the worst impact is that you may have to wait a bit longer or hit the bank on the other side of the building during rush hour. We were told the building was undergoing renovation when we signed our lease last year but pretty much all of the planned construction activities appear to have wrapped up. It's unclear if the elevators will be modernized as part of the renovations because they still maintain the finishes and reliability of the building's last update. I would highly recommend this building for anyone looking for a cozy large 1br or 2br+ assuming you don't need more than one parking space. Overall, we find living here to be a great value and if our renewal offer is reasonable and inline with the market, we plan to renew. Based on my experience living in previous Dittmar properties, we expect that to be the case.

I had scheduled a tour online…read more I was running a few minutes behind so I attempted to call to ensure I could still tour the building. No answer. So I showed up about 10 minutes late to see if it was still a possibility. Spoke to the concierge who informed me that there were no other appointments for the day so I would be able to tour. As I was filling out the introduction form, the concierge completely dismissed a tenants concern in front of me. I waited another 10 minutes. The sales rep then called to let the concierge know she would not see me because I was late and she was going to go home for the day since I was the last appointment. I took the introduction form with me. The concierge staff was very rude and stated that I would need to set another appointment since I was not timely. I told her I wasn't appreciative of their customer service and would not be back. If you're acting this way to prospective customers/tenants, how're you treating the people who hold a contract with you? I understand if you have a full tour load for the day, i can schedule another appointment but handle it appropriately. Lastly, i am thankful I was able to see how they interact with actual tenants. With the amount of money these apartments are charging, the management should be top tier.

I cannot stress enough how unsafe and mismanaged this building is. What was marketed as a "luxury…read morecommunity" has devolved into an unmonitored shelter for the homeless -- and management has done absolutely nothing about it despite months of complaints and escalating safety issues. Security is nonexistent. There is no concierge, no on-site security, and no overnight staff whatsoever. The only person ever present is a leasing office worker who keeps normal retail hours. After that, residents are entirely on their own -- which has made this place a magnet for the homeless population who have learned they can easily enter and stay inside. I have personally encountered multiple dangerous and disturbing incidents: * The lobby bathroom was closed for months because homeless individuals were sleeping inside until one defecated and smeared feces across the walls. * Most recently stumbled upon a man, wearing an ankle monitor, chain-smoking in the lounge, eventually sleeping on the couch. * I once walked into the package room at night to find two homeless people living there, complete with a space heater they had plugged in. * I was harassed repeatedly by the same man night after night -- despite begging management to act. Their only advice was to "call the police." Because no one from management is ever on site, I had to meet the officers upon arrival, which allowed the harasser to see me and later threaten retaliation. The few security cameras they claim to have are largely useless -- either broken, facing the wrong angles, or leaving major blind spots. Package thefts go unresolved, and residents are left to fend for themselves. To make matters worse, the so-called "amenities" are nonexistent. Yet the management continues to charge luxury prices and advertise this place as a premium living experience. There is nothing luxury about fearing for your safety in your own building. After enduring this for months and pleading with them to take action, I decided to move out. Instead of acknowledging their negligence and handling the situation amicably, they are now threatening to charge me over $6,000 in early termination fees -- even though their failure to maintain basic security is a breach of contract. I've now had to hire an attorney just to navigate this mess and protect myself. Bottom line: This is not a luxury building. It's an overpriced, unsafe, poorly managed property that completely disregards the well-being of its residents.

I would not recommend moving here. I'm woken up at 7:45 am or earlier every morning (even weekends)…read moreby horrible beeping from the loading trucks, both going in/out of the building I assume for Good Company, and the trucks going in/out of Target's loading dock. I hear construction all throughout the day, I hear my neighbors being intimate constantly, my appliances don't work well at all, my AC has gone out for months at a time, my shower water doesn't stay hot, one day my apartment randomly stating filling up with smoke? (they never found the cause), the fire alarm randomly goes off, exclusively in the middle of the night it seems, and most recently, my ceiling is leaking. I have to put my clothes in the dryer for at least two 3-hour cycles to get them dry. The staff are very nice but it seems like there's really not much they can do about certain issues. For example, I tried on multiple occasions to connect my bank account to the portal to avoid credit card fees and kept receiving errors even though my bank was listed as an accepted banking institution. Management didn't provide any support with the portal other than to give me a phone number that's no longer in service.I was really excited to move on here but it's been a big disappointment. The quality of this place compared to what I pay for it feels like a massive rip off. 11/30/25 - the issues persist. Last month I woke up in the middle of the night to the small of gas and called the emergency maintenance line. They told me since the detectors didn't go off it was probably fine. I never heard anything else and assume they didn't check if there was a leak. Last week, the unit above me had carpet installed in the middle of the day and it was so loud, it shook my desk and computer while I was trying to work and was on meetings. They gave me no notice that the work in that unit would be happening. Don't move here. 12/8 - while I was told noise originated from carpet installation, it's seems new tenants have moved in who like to throw parties which they should really be able to do without disrupting other people but with how paper thin the walls are. After three days of noise, it finally settled down and then the fire alarm went off at 4:40 am. I plan to break my lease early.
