Ohhhh, baby. This place is GOOD!…read more Upon learning that my local smokehouse had permanently closed, I went on a hunt for BBQ joints near my husband's job so he could pick up some take-out on his way home. Locale BBQ Post fit the bill. We called early to order ribs and sides, and by 1:15 they were already sold out of jalapeno creamed corn. So, we ordered a rack of ribs (to share), a side of mac and cheese, some cole slaw, and the meal came with a piece of cornbread. Everything I ate was awesome. The ribs were extremely tender and fell right off the bone. With a little sauce, they were perfection. The cornbread was also incredible. It was a little dry for my liking, but the sweet butter that came with it soaked right into the bread and made it taste incredible. The macaroni and cheese was pretty plain, but with a little crushed black pepper, it turned into magic. Even the cole slaw was good - and I am not a big cole slaw person. I finished my meal and was absolutely stuffed to the brim, and purely content. I will absolutely be eating here again!!

It pains me to give a negative review, especially since I've been wanting to check them out since…read morethe day they opened few years back. Service - wow could you be more indifferent? I came in hoping to be steered towards maybe some of their fast moving items or popular items, but no. I said I'm not sure what to get, and the gentleman walked away to go back to doing whatever he was doing. I ended up going with the 1/2 brisket. Hold on, ill be right back, I need to get a hunk of brisket out from my teeth. Phew! Ok back to my review. I was then asked what sauce I wanted. Since they have their own sauces, I wasn't sure which one to get so I asked for a recommendation and told the second guy I like sweet and spicy. So he grudgingly pointed to the list. Food - was really really really hoping the food would be amazing. Bc all they do is bbq, right? Boy was I off. Brisket was tougher than leather. How would you even serve this to someone? The strips cut were rock solid... dont even try to sell me that this is how brisket is supposed to be!!! Btw im struggling to finish this meal mainly bc it wasnr cheap and its food,, and i dont waste.. i might have to call my dentist after this struggle.. Their slaw was good and crunchy, hence the extra star. I'm good, ill stick to some of the other bbq places in wilmington. Food and service don't make me want to give them another shot. But you should give them a try, i hope your experience is better than that of mine.

I like the Produce and Meat stands, where I had some of the BEST meatballs (pre-made, but raw - you cook them yourself) and center cut pork chops. Their "own make" loose sausage is terrific too in breakfast dishes or Italian baked pastas. Great service, we were greeted and sat quickly, though it was mid afternoon so not very busy. We decided to get a few combos and sample a little of everything: Ribs & sausage with a side of slaw Brisket & pulled pork with a side of beans & rice The table had 3 sauce options: Filthy Hot (which wasn't), Classic and Carolina (the most flavor but very liquid). The ribs weren't fall off the bone but were tender, and with a good smoke ring. The sausage tasted more Amish style than Texas, not bad. The brisket was dry & flavorless, and the pulled pork, while moist, needed more smoke and seasoning. The slaw was under seasoned and underdressed (which was surprising) but a little Carolina sauce got it right. Overall, so-so, which makes me sad because I LOVE good TX bbq. I had hoped for a little Texas taste of home but it was a miss for me.
