I am staying at the lodge and decided to walk over to the restaurant. Even though the restaurant was completely empty, when I asked for a table I was turned down and told they were only taking reservations. As a guest of the lodge, I found this very disappointing. The employee and manager made no effort to accommodate us and their attitude felt very cold and unwelcoming. During the stay at Lake Lanier, we had breakfast two days in a row at Sidney's. The day after the 4th of July, the dining hall and outside patio was packed! When we went today, it was a light crowd. The restaurant is located on the main level of Legacy Lodge. For COViD-19, All the staff were wearing masks. It was not a requirement for guests to wear masks. Also, The food stations had hand sanitizer. The buffet + Continental breakfast was pretty good. Everything was fresh. There were eggs, grits, home fries, turkey bacon, bacon, sausage and chicken sausage. There was also yogurt, bagels, and cereal. I was able to order a delicious waffle. Drinks include tea, coffee, soda, apple juices drinks , and orange juice. They also had mimosas! The staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend for breakfast . If you are staying at Lake Lanier, try to get the package with the breakfast. It's well worth it! They serve breakfast from 7am--10:30am most days. read more

We loved everything that was sent to the table! Nathan, our waiter, was very attentive in checking on us. The food was AMAZING, and we ordered the beef tenderloins entree as well as the black bass, which was the special. Lastly, Chef John was an absolute treasure, as he personally came to our table, to make sure we enjoyed our meals, and the desert had the right amount of sweet! We look forward to returning, especially in the day time, so we may look out at the amazing view, which compliments the ambiance inside the restaurant as well! This is not a place you should drive solely for dining. The food is ok, but there is zero ambiance, and it resembles more a dated golf course dining room than anything. This restaurant is plain, and has no bar, no decoration and is there simply to serve you food. You will not have a fun, memorable evening, just a meal. We ate the all you can eat buffet and my 1 meal was $63.00 (service was included at 20%, regardless of the size of the party) Food: worth eating here if you are a guest at the resort! not worth the trip just to go dine there. Eat here if you are staying at the resort, but don't drive an hour to have this! The crab legs were boiled in what I can only guess was plain salt water. No real flavor profile (Old Bay, not expensive to add to this to their kitchen) The baked oysters were more loaded with whatever filler it was, and over cooked. The Prime rib was nicely done, and the salad bar was very fresh. All items were replenished promptly. that is the extent of the positives. This was my first time eating dinner here. Prices are high . The calamari appetizer was perfect . It wasn't overdone , which is the key to frying calamari . The restaurant menu said that all their steaks are prime quality . Not hardly . I ordered a NY strip that was small ($34.00) and tough , with no fat . It was cooked medium rare as I ordered . But the quality of the steak appeared to me to be select or choice . I've had better at much lower end restaurants . This 5 star review is for the valentine's day dinner and breakfast we ate the next morning when we stayed at legacy lodge over the weekend. We purchased the package that included meals (meals + gratuity) with your stay, which was really the way to go because turns out we saved a good chunk of money that way. The 4 course valentine's meal and service went beyond our expectations here. We were immediately impressed with many of the offerings on the menu (3-4 appetizing choices for the first three courses followed by a shared dessert). The photos included here say it all. The dessert was my least favorite and I only had a few bites, but I was also pleasantly stuffed from the increasingly delicious 3 courses that came before hand. I loved the touches of the red lights, a rose for each guest, and the live r&b music playing throughout dinner. Breakfast was also great, especially for a buffet. The made-to-order omelet bar was a real hit. The waiters and waitresses could not have been more accommodating. read more

UPDATE 06/22/2017 - so I got a message from the owner or whoever she is, I am not going to call out anyone because even though I stated my opinion. I was told that I am picky and feel entitled. I am adapting to a healthier lifestyle, mind you. Oh yeah, she clearly stated that it does not matter if you come before others, you will not be served first. Thank you for the clarification. I came with around 18 co-workers for dinner. We had a long table reserved. Everyone came at different times. I was there early with 2 other coworkers and we scoped out the menu. That night had a special menu. There was no chicken option. For the main course, the options were linguine shrimp pasta (going that gluten free lifestyle and staying away from dairy as much as possible), grilled sirloin (I don't like beef), duck magret (I don't like duck), and stuffed zucchini (has quinoa in it and not a fan, plus I wanted chicken!). I did ask the waiter if they could give me any chicken. He went to check with the chef and came back and said yes, can substitute the duck for chicken if that's okay. That's fine with me! Slowly everyone else arrived. Now, what bothered me is that the people who arrived first, ahem me and a few others, SHOULD have gotten our orders taken down first, we sat on the far left and when people started trickling in, we all slowly filled up from left to right. The waiters knew that since I did ask the chicken question. However, we got our food taken down last. Okay, maybe, our food will be brought to us first? Appetizers came out. Everyone got the same thing but why didn't they serve the early birds first?? It was baby spinach salad. A lot of people loved it but I didn't. I felt it had too much feta dressing. Besides I'm not a fan of fruits and nuts in salads. Many minutes later the entrees finally came, the waiters started bringing food to everyone and of course, the early birds did not catch the worms. Mine came out last since it was "special." Fine, whatever. Let's eat. The saffron risotto looked like a cheesy corn, it was flavorful but wasn't able to finish. Asparagus is good. The chicken is tender but the flavors were lacking. Maybe it would be good to someone else but I'm Asian. I like flavor. It is not made for my palette. I gotta give them props for presentation. I feel that the waiters were not attentive. Water was not refilled until dessert time and I finished a long time ago. That made me not want to finish my entree. Dessert is on point though. First of all orange creme brulee!! Orange is one of my favorite fruit flavors and creme brulee is just yum. Honestly, I would not come back because lack of attentiveness and flavors on the menu. Located inside the lodge this place is the fine dining restaurant on the property. Since I was on a work conference I decided to treat myself to what I thought would be a nice delicious meal. I mean the meal was ok not great or what I expected and the price point certainly didn't leave me with what I was accustomed to having. I went with the filet and the cooks potatoes. Medium rare as usual. Not sure how they season their meat but it was bland and I had to end up using the butter from the bread that was brought out and the béarnaise sauce to add some kick to the filet. Went there for the first time tonight. We went early with a 5:45 reservation. Just like other reviewers the staff was excellent! When we got there it wasn't crowded so we were able to start eating right away. The crab legs were very good! Large clusters and they were always hot! They never ran out of them while we were there. The salad and all the shrimp were good. The fish was just okay. Along with the oysters which was so so. My wife got a slice of prime rib and she said it was bland. But I've seen other reviews that loved it. All in all a good experience. We will be back for the crab legs! read more

Personally did not dine here but made reservations for my parents on Mother's Day on a Friday night at 6pm. I live in DC so I wanted to take them out to dinner and Sidney's was one of the best choices for the area they live in. I called a week before I made the reservation and spoke with the General Manager to ask her if she could charge my credit card so I can pay for their meal. She was very helpful and took down my information correctly. My parents were able to dine here with no issues and the check was taken care of at the end of the meal like I asked. I also requested that they would be seated by the windows to get an awesome view of the lake :) My parents didn't complain about the food being terrible so I think the food was good and they also said that the service was really wonderful. Lovely view of the lake. Breakfast buffet was fabulous. For dinner I had a well-prepared Delmonico Ribeye coupled with seasoned potatoes along with a nice Cabernet Sauvignon. Would not go back again!!! The buffet was not what we had though it would be. We arrived about 5:45 for our reservation (Sidney's opens at 5:30), after not being able to park and riding around to find any space. Got seated at a very small table (2 of us only). Were told to help ourselves, so we went up to the buffet. If you don't like fish do not go!!! The caesar salad said traditional so I took some. It was romaine lettuce with cheese on top, no dressing or anything else. We both took different fish , none were hot. This was surprising because they only open at 5:30 and we were their at 5:45. No potato on the buffet except potato salad, in which a lot of people do not eat. Another surprise because I have never been to a buffet with no mashed potato. We then went up to the prime rib station, in which the man serving was wearing a baseball hat. He asked if we wanted a big or little piece. We went back to our table with the prime rib and it was dried out and tuff. It was made to med well, we asked out waitress for a piece that was more rare and were told they did not have any more. Also had seen a customer picking up crab with his hands out of the serving dish, no-one said or did anything. Was not offered any refill on water all night!! The desert station had 3 deserts and some fruit, not very tempting!!! I will not go back to sidneys again, and I also think they should rethink their buffet and take a look at their staff. We ate here during our stay at The Lodge. On Saturday evening we made reservations for the seafood buffet. The staff was very friendly but the food was below par. For a buffet, selections were limited, the fish was overcooked and dry, the cajun boiled shrimp and zero flavor, the crab legs were steamed and zero flavor along with being overcooked, and the prime rib was blah at best. My wife and I are not picky eaters but we do enjoy good food. This was way overpriced for the quality of food. Save your money and disappointment and go a few miles down the road to Coastal Breeze if you want seafood with flavor. The pricing also appears to be incorrect. Everything we saw advertised was around $48 per person yet our bill for the two of us was $139. read more

Was not impressed at all. We would have expected more from just observing the atmosphere. Waited what seemed like hours to receive two meals. Once we finally received our entries, it was horrible. Steak had no flavor at all and the chicken breast was tasteless. Waffle House has better grilled chick and steak than this place on bad night with Billy Bob drinking booze and cooking (I am being serious).
