The shop is super cute, the vibe was on point, and everyone--from the staff to the customers--was incredibly friendly. There was a short line, but it moved really quickly. I ordered the turkey bagel on a jalapeño cheddar bagel, a blueberry bagel with strawberry matcha smear, and a mocha vanilla latte. When my daughter saw the blueberry bagel with the green matcha smear, she wanted no parts of it! I think the color threw her off, but the flavor was phenomenal... so I ended up eating her bagel instead, lol. The turkey bagel was really good and fresh. This is such a cute little spot with so many bagel options. Although it was quite busy, the wait time is not too long and the staff is very courteous. There is no seating outside but there is some outside. Also, there is limited parking outside of the. I really loved the savory scallion and bacon cheese spread (schmear). Finally made it here after the weather kept me away last visit. We stopped by mid morning on a Saturday, so they were busy, as expected. If you're in a rush, definitely order online, as we saw plenty of people picking up while we were in line. Fantastic bagel shop! Was looking for a breakfast spot close to Bottleworks Hotel and decided to give Sidedoor a try. Glad we did! Arrived a few minutes before they opened so sat on the deck and watched them prepping for opening. Loved the bagels here -- fresh, chewy, and worth the wait, though a few small misses on my order. Came by on a busy Saturday morning (lines were long, but you can order online ahead!). I tried the Spicy Lox and the Sausage, Egg & Cheese. The lox was delicious but not actually spicy and missing jalapeños, which was a bit disappointing since it's an upcharge (but forgivable given the long lines). The Sausage, Egg & Cheese was fine, but I just wish the egg were more jammy instead of fully cooked. It had been TOO long! That's all I'll say. My Saturdays are spent taking a nice stroll from my home & around Mass Ave. this go round I had been craving one of Sidedoor's bagels. I am SO happy I stopped. Forgot how much I enjoyed them. It was about 45 min until closing. The line was short , cashier was helpful with my order and I received my items in a timely manner. I got the weekend special bagel which was a yummy white cheddar garlic for the Beccy with plain cream cheese. For my bevy I indulged in the delicious toasted marshmallows iced latte with oatmilk. Not to be dramatic but I don't think I've ever had a better bagel in my life!! Sidedoor had so many options for sandwiches and they even had a BYO option so you can get exactly what you want. I got a bacon and egg bagel sandwich with garlic cream cheese and it was delicious! The egg was cooked over hard and the bagel was perfectly chewy. Not to mention the homemade cream cheese was to die for. Just the right amount of garlic. The staff was friendly enough, but definitely matched the relaxed vibe of the place. It's on a street corner which makes parking just a tad difficult, but there are lots of spots and we found one pretty easily on the street. I have to admit that I wasn't the biggest bagel fanatic before Side Door opened up shop. I tend to be more of a croissant gal, but when you make bagels to this level. It's a whole different ball game. I'm a sucker for the Rosemary sea salt, cinnamon sugar and all of the bagel sandwiches that I've experienced. Especially any of the sandwiches loaded with veggies. As I type, dripping juices onto my keyboard, I'm enjoying the Pogues run roasted turkey sandwich with pickled red onions, greens, added cucumbers, roasted tomatoes, and an herb cream cheese. It's a flavor party in my mouth. They're online ordering process is smooth and a great way to quickly get in and out and grab your treats. They also offer a few different coffee drinks to round out the experience. I'm always amazed with all of their sandwich creations and the way they lean into the produce seasons. We had to drive home with the bagels but even with 15+ minutes, the bagels were still super soft and had the perfect chew. The spicy everything bagel is a flavor I haven't seen before, it's not very spicy but its got great flavor. I was also able to try a little bit of the herb and garlic smear, and that was very intensely herby. I liked it , but I could see it overpowering more subtle bagel flavors. Sidedoor is always packed and the perfect slow Sunday treat. The line has been pretty long every time I go but it never takes too long and is obviously worth the wait. Also, once you order, food comes out quite fast. The inside is fun and lively. They do usually sell out of bagels throughout the day, so if you want a specific flavor, go earlier in the morning. The BECCY is always 10/10 but decided to get the sausage, egg and schmear today on a spicy everything bagel. It wasn't very spicy at all l honestly, it was perfect. This is my second time at side door. The first time I got the All American which is only available on Tuesdays. It was one of the best bagel sandwiches I had and even though I ordered when I arrived rather than ordering online, I didn't wait long for my order to be ready. I also tried one of their matcha lattes my first time and it was delicious as well. A perfect balance of sweetness in my opinion. This go round, I got the Beccy on a spicy everything bagel and I added cheese, jalapeño schmear, and hot honey. I also got 2 bags of kettle chips (jalapeño and barbecue) and a chocolate chip cookie. My sandwich was really good, the chips were also good with and without the sandwich. The cookie was one of the best I've had in a while. This time I ordered online and only had to wait about 13 minutes or so before my order was ready. Both times I spent around $20 for the things I got. I happened to drive by Sidedoor after an event at the CCIC. It always gets great reviews so I figured I better turn around and give it a try. Just my luck that I make it at closing time. (1:30) Staff were awesome about serving me anyway. To make it quick and easy I just went with a mix of bagels. The bagels are sourdough based and good sized. Each a meal in itself. Went with Poppy seed, Everything, Rosemary, Cheddar and a Cinnamon. The Cheddar got finished on the way home and was very tasty. The seeded and salted have so much of each on them they'd make a mess in your car. But worth it anyway. They have plenty of sandwiches and schmear options plus all your coffee and cold drink needs. I ordered a "local" soda, waited 10 minutes only to be told by another annoyed employee you get it from the fridge. I grew up in NY and have been wanting to try Side Door for a very long time. I planned to stop in after working out on a weekday to avoid the line I've seen on weekends. I got the Beccy on one of the bagels of the day (Hashbrown bagel) with bacon scallion cream cheese. It was the handheld-breakfast experience I was hoping for. Tasty, messy and filling. While I found the slightly chewy texture of the bagel perfect, I could taste a hint of sourdough which isn't something I remember in the bagels of my childhood. Buuuuut....I did also picked up a bag of frozen bagels and the bacon scallion cream cheese for later and took a photo of their "bagel of the day" sign and am 99.9% sure I'll be stopping in again. I'm so excited that I finally got to visit the bagel shop that Bon Appetit Magazine named "The Very Best Bagels in the US (Yes, Outside of New York)." How freaking cool is that?! Proud to have Sidedoor in Indy - a city that used to be a bagel desert. If you don't know their story, essentially they partnered up with Amelia's Bakery and started using their space to make bagels that people would pick up from the side door of the bakery. They became insanely popular and got their own place almost two years ago. I stopped in right before close and was thrilled that they still had some bagels in stock. I got a rosemary sea salt bagel and the turkey run sandwich on an everything bagel. Both of the bagels had so many seeds that fell off that we could've made several more bagels with them. It was raining seeds everywhere, so I'd love for there to either be less seeds or have a way to bake them into the bread a bit more. Regardless, I love that these are sourdough bagels and thought they were delicious. The sandwich was pretty good but I'm excited to try the famous BECCY breakfast sandwich next time. My friends also rave about the bacon chive cream cheese and flaky salt bagel, so I can't wait to come back soon to try those too. I know that there's sometimes a line out the door on the weekends so be prepared for that. Since there's not much space inside, I'd recommend pulling the menu up on your phone so you're ready to order as soon as you step inside. There is free street parking, as well as a free, big parking lot about a block away at the CCIC building across the street. Run don't walk! My partner and I stopped by Sidedoor Bagel on a busy Sunday morning. We waited about 30 minutes to order and another 8 minutes to get our bagels. WORTH THE WAIT! We got the Spicy Everything bagel with Bacon Scallion CC, Rosemary Sea Salt bagel with Garlic Herb CC, and an iced Brown Sugar Latte with Oat Milk. These bagels may have been the best I've ever had! They make their everything seasoning and cream cheeses in house. The flavor combinations were perfectly savory and balanced. They give one a decent amount of "schmear" per bagel and getting it toasted is still a light toasting.
