If there was a negative star I would have left that. THe service and management is horrendous and they deserve every negative review possible. I was here for a gator viewing party and if you are a gator or anyone on a non viewing day I would chose any other place in town possible to eat or drink except side bar. I was warned it would be very smoky, but it was relatively dead when we were there. Walked across the sticky floor to the back room with the pool tables, sat in a booth (all had personal TVs on the wall). The mixed drinks were adequate, served in tall tumbler glasses. The ladies' bathroom was clean and stocked. When we asked the server to turn down the suddenly loud music so we can continue our conversation, she did so. I went to sidebar for the first time yesterday after the Falcons game. There were lots of tv`s and we were able to get a seat. Drinks were strong and beer was fresh and the food I ordered was teriffic! I ordered a cuban with sweet potato tater tots. The taste of the food was great and reasonably priced. We walked in here prior to half of our party departing to go back home. It was a Tuesday afternoon and it was relatively busy given that it was the middle of the day. However, there was a conference in town which we were also attending, so likely it was a result of that. The guys ordered some beer and tequila shots. We also ended up ordering some food- chili tater tots with cheese and the Hot-zarella sticks. I couldn't eat the tater tots due to the meat, but heard that they were just so-so. The cheese was apparently still cold so it gave a weird flavor to the overall tots. There is a very large portion, so just keep that in mind. The Hot-zarella sticks were amazing though. They had a little kick to them on the batter that they were cooked in. I wasn't planning on having any but then ended up having 3.5 of them! It's a quaint place, so definitely check it out if you're in the area. It is a bit pricey though. read more

Sidebar inside and sidebar outside (the patio) seem like two different worlds. The inside, with what little time I spent there, seemed smoky and a bit drab, but par for the course for what seemed to be an every-man's bar. The outside seating, though, is outstanding, and it feels like you are in a private alcove in NYC, SF, or New Orleans. For that alone it gets a solid three stars. read more

This is a cool bar that seems to attract locals and not the tourists that are in the downtown area. The drinks are darn cheap and the staff is friendly. I always enjoy visiting this bar, their menu changes but the food is awesome for bar food. Especially because they have cuban pressed sandwiches!! I love going to this place for Gator games, by far the best place in Atlanta to go for a game. Always packed, great energy, the food is fine to eat when you are drunk. The only problem is getting a drink during the game, or going to the bathroom during the half. But if you have ever been to Gainesville for a game, you are used to this. Free shots at halftime of the game, always orange & blue. Easily accessible by a train, so you don't have to drive your drunk ass home. Sidebar rocks read more

Although I like the owners & am proud of their success, personally not a fan. My main beef with Sidebar is it's way, WAY too loud -- whether you're by yourself or with friends, it's just too loud to think or talk. If you want to drink hard, eat greasy food & follows sports games (there are TV everywhere playing basketball, football, etc.), you'll love it, but if you're more interested in what you're eating and talking to people, it's just not a good place. I'll also add that their menu is huge but almost all of it is really unhealthy - way too much grease, fat, cheese, etc. So again, if you just want a good time sports bar where you can kick back, you'll like it, but if you're thinking more of a restaurant, not to much for you. read more

Looks can be deceiving. Total dive bar as the reviews led me to believe. Not a great part of town, but close to my hotel. Was unsure about food because of the looks of the place, but I couldnt be more wrong. Had a few drinks, served by attentive and very polite bartenders. Sidebar is pretty cool spot in Atlanta. We came in before a concert at the Georgia Dome and had dinner and drinks. The staff was nice. The bar was really loud. I had to struggle to hear the person next to me. I had the Sidebar Cuban sandwich which was pretty good. My friend got the sweet potato tots and they were great. I recommend those for sure. Sidebar is a cool bar to grab a drink, play some shuffleboard, ski ball, or watch a game. The establishment closes at 1AM on Saturday nights. At 1:01, all customers should expect Fred to tell them to leave because "hey, we closed. Get the f**k out." We were literally by the door finishing our drink when he started to harp on us. SideBar is a great hidden Gem in Downtown Atlanta. I work downtown and have know about the place for a while but never managed to get there until recently. The bartenders are great, as are the patrons. The atmosphere is very casual and every one is extremely friendly. I highly recommend this bar. read more

Should've been fine before a show at the Tabernacle. Instead it was a disaster! When you walk in to a mostly empty dive bar and tell the waitress you're going to a concert in just over an hour, there should be no problem getting a couple of beers and sandwiches. A little over two hours later - after hearing that a party of 50 "just dropped in" AFTER we arrived and watching two other tables come in and get served, we left without paying our bill. The food was just what you'd expect. Maybe they had a bad night but when you can't find a server, you can't get your food after repeated tries, and then you can't even find a manager...well then, you find another bar. read more

I was looking around downtown for the perfect bar to start my birthday, and I found this bar. It was fantastic. It wasn't crowded (at the time), and the price on drinks were great. They even had a really good special happening: 3 shots for the price of two. Not only that, but I dropped that it was my birthday, and they gave me a "birthday shot" on the house. Let's just say the taste was quite a surprise! However the two bartenders were adorable, lovable, and great. Their names are Shaye and Kate, and they made my birthday so great!
