Since the original builder used non-standard 3.25" slats that no local supplier stocks, Steven custom-cut all 66 of them to fit perfectly. He oiled all the rollers, swept the entire area with a magnetic pick-up for stray screws, and finished right on schedule before we headed out of town. On top of the fantastic craftsmanship, my previous gate company quoted me twice as much for the exact same job--which is what led me to Gate Pros in the first place. I contacted Chris to replace the commercial door on my residential workshop because the corrugated paneling was allowing rats to get in, which was disgusting. Not only did he quote the best price, but the door he recommended was of much higher quality than any of the other garage door companies had at that price (Chris' was insulated and double-panel, R-12 insulation sandwiched between the panels, rather than single-panel). He then worked with my busy schedule and he and his team came out and did a terrific job of installing the door! I am so happy with it! My workshop is so much cooler with the insulated door and no more vermin getting in! YAY! He was professional, very considerate and did an outstanding job. I highly recommend Side Job Garage Doors. Chris is honest, value-priced, professional and reliable. Update 12/2017: I contacted Chris because the door he'd installed about 6 months earlier was not staying up when rolled up. He came out promptly to do an adjustment at no cost - he said that this is very common after a door has been installed, because the springs "relax" and need to be adjusted. Chris was originally referred to me by a major garage manufacturer and installer in town when I moved into my home 8 years ago. I have since called him back to perform repairs multiple times in different houses. Whether a simple adjustment to appease a house inspector, or repair, replacing broken springs or motor, he is the one I call. His honesty and work ethic were apparent on the first visit. You know you are getting straight talk and honest information, he does not blow smoke or try to upsell. He'll fix just what you need and recommend or educate you what to expect before and after. My garage door is bent and was not rolling up or down correctly. I originally called Chris to get a quote for a complete door replacement which I cannot really afford at this time. After speaking for a few minutes Chris suggested we put struts on it he had a tech out to my home in two hours it took him 20 minutes and my door works like new.
