We came here a few times last year and it was decent enough to fill that Thai craving. However, this year they have put the price up for lunch to $18.95, and the portion size is terrible for that price. This time I had the lunch which comes with soup, salad, 2 appraisers and the main meal choice. Sounds like a good deal right??! The soup and salad cone in cups so small I don't know where they found them, it was actually comical. The appraiser was a spring roll (which was good) and a shumi. The shumi app was literally one tiny dumpling the size of the tip of my thumb. Ummm.... For the main course I got the butternut squash curry and asked for it at a level 2 when she asked me how hot on a scale of 1-5. It was so hot I could not eat it. Had my partner try it and he could not either. It also came with just 3 shrimp. For $19. My partner had fried rice with chicken and apps of chicken sauté and a spring roll. He said the chicken sauté was ridiculously small and not good. I tried his rice and thought it was good, but that was the only winner in the meal for the $50 for lunch. read more

I was searching for an Asian restaurant after a hiking day at Acadia. There were not too many good options near Bar Harbor, and this place is happen to be near the cottage we stayed. I looked at the other reviews and decided to give it a try. The food was really good, and service was decent. There was only a waitress trying to serve the entire restaurant. The setting is ver nice as well. Nice clean place and not as many tourists. I love Thai food and have tried many Thai places across the country. Had a great meal here after having to have to go to Ellsworth unexpectedly. What a great meal. I recommend the crab Rangoon. The dumplings in spicy sauce were a bit unconventional but still quite good and a good value considering you get 10 compared to the 4 crab Rangoon. Entrees were also good and the portions quite generous. I recommend the massaman curry, the panang curry and the drunken noodles. Heat levels are on a scale of 1 to 5. Take out | Dinner | $30-50 What a terrible restaurant. I've been REGULARLY coming here for years but we can't ever come back after the experience we had. The owner was belligerent when we tried to correct and give feedback. Accused us of sabotaging the food (what??) and then lied and said we ordered maximum spicy even though we have the receipt and order details. Absolute nonsense. They burned the appetizers and dumped multiple containers of what appears to be dry chili flakes all over the food for some reason when we requested "MEDIUM" spice level. My wife is Vietnamese and I am Mediterranean and we eat extremely hot things all the time and we both found the food to be completely inedible. On top of that the restaurant over the years appears like upkeep is slipping and the quality of the food in general has gone way down hill in our opinion. Expect most of the dishes to just be slopped with oil. The prices have sky rocketed and the food quality has gone down drastically. If you want to see how belligerent and allergic to criticism the owner is please view the Yelp reviews and watch her engage with every single negative review with her own brand of venomous negativity. On conduct alone I wouldn't trust that staff to cook me food, let alone them burning it or in general producing low quality food. I'm writing this review out of general concern for my fellow Mainers as bad food sucks, but having someone make your food inedibly spicy and then verbally attacking you can be an awful experience. This can be a real concern for older customers who could actually react badly to a stranger starting an argument with them, accusing them of lying, or feeding them an inhuman amount of dried pepper. Parking: The parking lot is in extreme disrepair with one of the curbs completely destroyed. I'd worry about losing a tire if I ever came back, which I wont. Maine has a lot of small businesses who are staffed by wonderful, hardworking people who genuinely care about your experience and enjoyment. Delicious, clean and elaborate menu. We opted for dine in on a busy weekend and they were able to get us seated quickly. Looking at the big portion sizes, we ordered 2 entrée and skipped the apps. Ordered a green curry (very spicy, veg) and red curry (very spicy, veg). Food was pipping hot and came out in 15 mins. The curries were very spicy exactly how I had expected them to come out. The curry came with rice portions. The veggies were well cooked and fresh. Loved every bite! Restrooms were clean and very well stocked. The interiors were also very well kept and in general very Thai + ocean themed style. Sole reason for 4 star - The server was in SO hurry of wrapping up that she almost made my husband eat up hurriedly. I spent the entire day hiking and skipped lunch, unless you can count trail mix as lunch..., so I was starving when dinner time rolled around. I love Tom Yum soup and this tasted quite good. We arrived before 2 for the lunch special , waited a while to be seated , then waited a while for service, all understandable, it happens, but then The Asian waitress was very rude told us lunch was over " LUNCH OVER " at 2:09 pm when obviously we were waiting a considerable time before 2:00 pm for service, but apparently passed the very strict the 2 pm lunch special rule. My wife and I have eaten at the Siam Sky location in Blue Hill at least three times and it has been very good. We tried the Ellsworth location today and were unpleasantly surprised. We split the appetizer plate and an order of beef pad Thai. The appetizers were overcooked and dry, and most, if not all of them were certainly previously frozen items that you could buy at the local Walmart. The pad Thai was simply a sticky, glutinous mess of noodles with a few scallions thrown in. Worst of all, the beef was literally gray, hard and let's just say that it was very chewy and tasteless. Our server was pleasant enough and took reasonably good care of us, but nothing special. We've both worked in restaurants in our lives and we try to be gracious and chalk it up to a bad night and maybe it was. But man, whoever was in the kitchen in our last visit needs to be better trained. read more

As my boyfriend: the best ability is availability. We had been driving for four hours, went into Bar Harbor and EVERYTHING was closed for the storm and were desperate. Siam Sky 2 was quite literally the only place open to sit down, so we came and were the only people inside (again there was a huge storm today) but ended up super happy! When we sat down, we were ravenously hungry and quickly ordered. I started with the crab Rangoons (which I ate so quick I didn't get a pic of) and they were incredibly delicious (loved the flavor of the filling and the crispy shell!). I also had the Siam Fried Rice with chicken and it was a MASSIVE portion and incredibly satisfying on a snowy day. My boyfriend at one of the currys and absolutely loved it. The service was so great and the guy was extremely polite and attentive, and we were so appreciative of them open during the snow day. Great food, especially for people who need to cleanse their palate or are bored of the bland seafood, omelets, and pastas in Elsworth/bar harbor. If you want spicy, ask for level 5/6 (out of 3) and the chef will make it for you. Great for vegetarians (and probably vegans), chef made soup without fish sauce. Large portions with generous amounts of vegis. We ordered Tom ka soup, panang chicken, massuman tofu, basil fried rice and some appetizers. This restaurant is as good as the better Thai restaurants that I've been to when I lived in NYC/NJ, which is a very competitive area for Thai. I've ordered probably a dozen times, it's always been great. The standard curries (green, red, panang, etc) are good but IMO the specialty dishes stand out even more. Taking off one star as I had problems finding this place; google maps shows it a mile away from its actual location. This is a great little thai restaurant we stumbled across in Ellsworth, of all places. Some of the best Thai food we have ever had! We started with some appetizers- Fresh Rolls and Crab Rangoon. Both were exceptionally tasty! I also had the Chicken Satay with my luncheon special- incredibly tasty! The skewered chicken was nicely seasoned with a cumin/curry coating(most places serve unseasoned meat), which was a perfect complement to the peanut dipping sauce. For main courses, we had the Choo Chee Duck(generous portion of nicely-crisped duck, vegetables, in a delicious spicy coconut sauce. Excellent!) and the Drunken Noodle with Chicken(stir-fried rice noodles, basil and vegetables in a brown sauce- incredibly tasty and maybe my favorite selection (our daughter had the tofu version and loved it!). We also tried the Chicken Pad Thai, which was very good, but maybe a bit sweet for our taste( the owner said she could tone that down on request). All in all, an excellent and memorable meal, which means we'll be back! read more

I ordered it and went outside to wait in my car told the lady where I'd be at I would be back in 10 minutes well she came out 10 minutes later in the rain and hand-delivered it and said thank you for your business.
