The pick up prior to your departure is done on time. Most of the time the ride is shared with other parties which is fine if you're traveling solo but when you have a group of 4 adults, 2 kids, car seats, dive gear plus the regular checked luggage ride sharing is idiotic. The best part is you realize this when you open the van door and there's people already seated with their corresponding luggage. At this point there's no time for changes, you just accept the fact that if you want to get to your plane on time you'll need to join the rest of the sardines. The day of your arrival, when you are tired from the 6 hour flight and dying to get home you are greeted by another surprise courtesy of Shuttle Express. Your van is dropping someone else off and even though you arrived on time it doesn't matter. Needless to say, none of this was mentioned on the confirmation email I received the day before. Had 5 couples travelling from my house to Pier 91 and return 2 weeks later. I called Shuttle Express a few weeks in advance and set up our pick up times for both directions. I received timely reminders and pick-up and drop-off were right on time. Had two different drivers and both were great guys. Got all the bags loaded (a miracle in itself) and both were familiar with the best routes for the conditions and made our time limit both ways. I would highly recommend Shuttle Express! Let me start by stating that if you choose to use this service you have to be a patient traveler. This was my first time using the service and overall I was impressed. Yes, it's a little bit expensive but the amount of worry I had over getting to and from the airport was 0. While my journey to the airport began with a late arrival I was still at my gate with plenty of time until my flight. On the return, I was worried I wouldn't have a ride because my flight into Seattle was delayed by almost 3 hours, but thankfully I was checked-in and on my way in under an hour. All this to say, you must be a patient traveler to use this service enjoyably. It is not designed for someone in a great hurry or under a time constraint. As the sales pitch goes, they keep prices low by filling the van with several customers who all share a bit of the cost. Sounds great to me. So why is it that at the end of October I paid $80 one way in a completely empty van, but now they want to charge $140 one way during the Christmas rush? If I could give them 0 stars I would! I have used Shuttle Express for years without issues. I can't say the same for this last trip. Our ride from the airport consisted of five passengers - three in my family. The driver placed all of our luggage on top of each other. When he took off all the luggage loudly shifted. A couple of days after we got home my son told me that his laptop was damaged. His laptop was in his carry on bag that was placed on top of the other bags. I immediately contacted Shuttle Express. I was put off for about a week. When I finally spoke to someone I was told she would investigate. I was asked how much the repair would be. I let her know that Apple would not provide a written estimate but gave us a ballpark figure of $600. Miraculously her investigation changed to accusations! I was told there was no proof that my son even had a laptop! I tried calling the owner only to speak to his assistant. She called back with the same accusations. I recently arrived at SEATAC with chills, fever, and throwing up. I figured I would spare my shared riders any emergency stops or exposure to my germs so called SE to cancel and arranged for my lovely wife to pick me up instead. I was disappointed that in these circumstances my only option was to eat the whole reservation cost. I would have been pleased with a modest cancel fee but the entire fee? really? Even though SE was not thinking of their customers I was, and paid the entire cancellation fee. Heck canceling an Uber is only $2.00. Update 5/23/2017 - SE Reached out to me, apologized, and provided a full refund. I was told that I should have received a full refund. I made reservations months in advance for my group. We were picked up from home and delivered to the airport without issue. However, upon returning at 9:55pm at the airport we were told our ride "may" be available in 90-120 minutes. He would refund my money and leave us stranded at the airport at 10pm. The guy at the airport was a complete jerk. I would NEVER recommend this service to anybody. Complete waste of time and horrible end to a vacation. I've used Shuttle Express for years. The drivers have always been nice. However, the shuttle takes forever driving around picking up as many people as possible on the way there and dropping off as many on the way back home. They also tend to take their time picking you up after a flight which means sitting on a bench in an unheated area. You can do better with Century. read more

I will never again use this company for a ride from the airport. Pros - My family and I got where we were going safely. Cons - - Reservation was for 8:30 from the airport. We waiting until closer to 9:30 before being picked up. At the end of a trip, the last thing you want to do is sit around a parking garage on a humid day for an hour waiting for a ride. I could have took the train home and drove back to pick up my wife and baby in the time we waited. Unacceptable. - Drivers body odor was out of control. I understand that the drivers for these companies might not have the same hygiene practices that I have and that is fine, but please stop making the drivers wear full suits when they could were some comfortable pants and a polo shirt and be considered just as professional. This would prevent them from working all day in their same sweat drenched suit. Have some compassion for your employees. After a long trip, the last thing you want to do is sit around waiting for a ride. With the multitude of other options out there, there are many that are better than Shuttle Express for prices that are significantly cheaper. read more

I'm pretty surprised to see all these negative reviews but I guess that's the nature of service-based businesses when it comes to Yelp. I moved to Seattle in August 2014 and have used Shuttle Express on many occasions: 1) returning a friend to SEA from Wallingford to go back to NYC 2) getting to and from SEA for trips to Boise, San Diego, Philadelphia, Tucson, San Francisco and Burbank 3) returning a friend of a friend to SEA from Wallingford to go back to Oakland, CA For pickups from home, they do tend to be neurotically early but I would probably do the same if I were running their business. For returning home from the airport, I've waited 10 minutes at most except for one time when I waited ~30 minutes. All drivers have been friendly and helpful. One fancy driver spoke French, Italian and some German too. ShuttleExpress is far far cheaper than SuperShuttle (why are they well over $100 one-way?) but many have recommended getting Lyft or Uber for ~10-15% less in fare. read more

So much shit! Waited well over 1/2 hr for the bus which then made me late for my flight, which then stressed the living day lights outta me. The BIGGEST problem is that they don't let you know where or when or IF the shuttle is coming! I had to call the operator multiple times and finally just gave up and hailed for an uber. I cannont explain the huge disparity in the reviews for this place and normally wouldn't bother yelpping a shuttle service but I. Love. Shuttle. Express!!! I tell all my colleagues and friends about it - maybe they should start a referral punch card I've used then for my work trips when I already don't wanna drive or bug a friend or family member to drop me off at 4am - that's when these guys become the true hero's! I usually get a shared van and use the round trip option - that will get you a discount for booking beforehand, the website is easy to use and even though I don't have an account with them, my browser prefills all the info for me. It's a sweet celebration when I get an upgrade call 30 minutes before a pick up- except once, when they called at like 2 am (my pick up was at 2:45a) but they wanted me to feel safe and not be suspicious or surprised when a town car showed up! ! DO NOT TAKE if you have kids! I used shuttle express in the past instead of taxi or Uber especially with kids as we don't lug car seats along for our airplane travels.But now shuttle express seem to be sub-contracting their rides to private car/ride owners. If you have kids, you will be in a terrible bind as either of these will happen: At time of pick up a car showed up (instead of the shuttle express van). You either have to put our 4 year old in the car without car seat (which is what we had to do since there was no way we could carry a bulky car seat for our international travel), or you take alternate transport at the last minute. On our second ride (back from airport), the driver refused to take us without a car seat which we didn't have. Now imagine your ride coming to pick you up refusing to take you to the airport at the last minute due to no having a car seat, even though you booked Shuttle Express Van, and not a car! So, book shuttle express at your own risk. (Even worse was that the driver made us load and unload all the luggage as he decided to refuse the ride after we were loaded and seated and ready to go - terrible terrible experience). read more

My sister used the service with no real problems. She was coming from Seatac and needed to get to Everett. My aunt had a TERRIBLE experience, after we recommended this shuttle. She was going from Mill Creek to Seatac. She was being picked up for an early afternoon weekday flight. They didn't show up, 15 minutes after she waited around outside she called them. Turns out, they CANCELED her pre-payed reservation and didn't even contact her. THEY DIDN'T EVEN LET HER KNOW! No apology, no nothing. They left her standing in a driveway, trying to figure out how to get to the airport. She was able to find a local Uber driver that was able to get to the airport on time. I tried this service for the first time last week and after sitting on a bench for 10 minutes and then being condescendingly told that there were 3 other groups ahead of me waiting for vans and that this was a "shared ride service," I grabbed a cab to my destination. The cost of my shared van (with numerous stops) would have been $49 (before tip) and my cab ride (with no stops) was $61 (before tip). For the extra $12 I will take the cab every time. I feel this business traffics in misleading information as to the pickup and delivery times. The "boarding pass" I printed out had a precise pickup time (3:40) and the website gave me an estimated delivery time when I booked my ticket. When I asked the unpleasant woman at the airport curb about why they even bother giving a precise pickup time and a delivery estimate, she refused to answer me and instead harped at me about reading the fine print on the website. While I understand full well it is a shared van ride, I expected them to be able to be fairly close to their stated departure time. I then asked the less than lovely woman how many other people were on my shuttle and where were they going so I could try to determine what time I might actually arrive at my destination. She told me that they don't put the groups together until right before the van arrives (I find that hard to believe and think she just wanted me to go away) and told me go sit back down (that's the time I told her I wanted a refund (which I have still to see hit my credit card) and that I was going to grab a cab (which is literally less than 100 feet from the Shuttle curb in case anyone else wishes to follow my lead). I feel this is karma though for me trying to actually save a buck -- I usually hire a driver. Won't be trying this again! read more

I was picked up bright and early in the 4am hour during a weekday by Aaron. He was well awake, as he should be, and served as an excellent deliverer of people to the "port that is for air". My bro lives in S. Everett, and Shuttle Express were able to take my request for a drive to the airport with late notice (the night before), unlike a similar company which weren't able to take care of me. Including myself, Aaron only had two people to deliver to the airport this morning. I had planned to hit the hay immediately upon pick up, but as I was the first pick up, Aaron and I chatted a little. It was interesting to hear about his past (he's a fellow Canadian like me). We then picked up the next customer and this person was a "Talky McTalkerson", so I was able to quietly veg while they both talked all the way down to SeaTac. If I don't have someone to drop me off at the airport, and don't feel like leaving my own vehicle at the airport parking lot, this is the way to go. The whole trip cost on the order of $59. Had to wait for about 30 minutes for a driver after checking in at the airport (we had a reservation). Our first drop off was in the north end but not what I would consider on the way to ours or the other couple's address. It was a town car and one person was CRAMMED in the way back. Driver was polite but had the wrong address for us and literally was driving 50 mph (I could see the speedometer) in a residential area that was posted as 30 mph. Flight landed at 9:50, checked into Shuttle Express desk by 10:15 and didn't get home until just after midnight. Won't use Shuttle Express again. read more

I live in Des Moines, a 10 minute ride to the airport. I paid for a private SUV to take us to and pick us up from the airport. ($75 + $25 gratuity). The driver was supposed to pick us up at 6:28AM on a Saturday morning (there was no traffic anywhere in western Washington)... at 6:38 I decided to call Shuttle Express because we had heard nothing from them. They said the driver was delayed and they would dispatch a new driver to pick us up. The driver did finally arrive 1/2 hour later than our original pick up time and all Shuttle Express could offer is a 'sorry'. Coming home we expected a driver would be waiting for us at baggage claim.. but once again there was nobody there. Our flight was on-time and we since the airport was not busy at all we arrived at baggage claim in 5-minutes. I can see no reason why the driver would not be there waiting for us as it was not busy at all. Call the number again and wait on hold for 10 minutes because I am the fourth caller in the queue. By this time we walked to the garage and took a cab for $80 less than we were paying Shuttle Express for 'premium' service!!! On the cab ride home some 30-minutes after they should have been there I get an email saying the driver has arrived. If you want reliable transportation with a company that values your time more than their own look elsewhere. read more

Booked this a week before our trip to seattle. We needed a ride from the cruise ship port to SEATAC for our flight home. From two phone calls and two confirmation emails, they ALL stated that Shuttle Express would be waiting for us and have our information for pick up. This was NOT the case. We waited 45 minutes for a shuttle to arrive (all the while we saw several other companies come by with 2-5 shuttles). When Shuttle Express FINALLY showed up, the driver said "I don't have anyone's names or reservations. YOU need to call and get your name on the reservation list". Wait. WHAT?! I showed him my confirmation email and registration number. He walked away from me. THEN, he took a family of 12 AHEAD of me and another couple that was waiting LONGER and there first. (BTW, our reservation time had passed at this point). I called into the reservation desk, and the operator took my info, said there was a car already there waiting for me, and HUNG UP! I didn't even get her name! We waited another 15 minutes before a van showed up. Once loaded, the driver then tells us, "Oh, I need to wait another 15 minutes before we leave". At this point, we are very upset, we have waited over an hour at this point. The ride to SEATAC was smooth and fine. Excellent experience!!! Booked round trip from my home to SeaTac Airport, Mircea took us to the airport and Katie picked us up at the airport. Both chauffeur's were extremely professional and early to pick us up. Both engaged us with conversation along the way and took care of all of our needs. We especially appreciated the return service at the airport, Katie retrieved our bags from the carousel before we arrived at the carousel and promptly escorted us to the vehicle. Both cars were luxury vehicles. Both drivers made going to and from the airport painless. Literally have not had a better experience when traveling. I highly recommend. read more

Going to the airport with them is pretty good. But going from airport to home is not. I've had to wait, they are located in the parking garage at Seatac so it is cold down there, and with only a hard bench to sit on. I took them twice, and on one ride the driver dropped off one passenger that was completely out of the way--not anywhere on the same route and add about 35 minutes to the trip. I was booked on them Sat night. Got in at 10:30pm after flying all day from the east coast. I had a reservation and the dispatcher told me to "take a seat and get comfortable" because the wait would be at least 40 minutes. I told him he had to be kidding and I cancelled it. Then I walked over a few feet to another service, and for $20 more, I got a towncar door to door, no other passengers and we left immediately. The shuttle express is quite expensive for a shared ride (to where I was going) and certainly not worth the money. I filled out their survey and told them my story, and I got back this regurgitated canned script about how their drivers are all drug tested, certified, yadda yadda and how human error sometimes causes problems, but they are working on improving their services. I wrote them back and told them that their response was insulting, showing that they never even read my note. And that they certainly weren't improving anything, since the service has gotten progressively worse. But because of this response, I told them that I would never use them even to get to the airport. read more

It was 9:30pm Sunday night and my husband and I had a flight out of Sea-tac at 6:50am the next morning to leave for our honeymoon.... oh, and we hadn't even thought about how we were going to get there! I tried to get rates online, but they had me call their 800 number. The rep that I got was great and even though the most ideal pick up time was not available, it was still less expensive to get round trip service for 2 than to park off site by the airport. Reserved a van to drive us home from a 10 hour flight from Frankfort. Delayed waiting for our bags (which wasn't our fault) and when we arrived to the ShuttleExpress location, we were told they reassigned the van we had reserved to another family. There were no vans available and had to wait over an hour for another van to arrive. What's the point of reserving, if they are just going to reassign it to someone else? Only on the threat of cancelling and receiving our money back, did they send another driver back to SeaTac. This is why people are using Uber and Lyft more. read more

Sad to give this review. We've been customers of Shuttle Express for over 15 years. This last trip from the airport, they put us on an empty charter bus rather than the ride-share van we reserved. The empty bus bounced so much i had to take pain killers for a week due to back pain. But the real issue has been the lack of response from customer service after I called. I wasn't put through to a manager, and never received a call back from one even though I requested one. I left a bad review on google, and someone emailed and called and left a message, but no way to call her back. She's ignored my emailed responses to her asking for a number I can reach her at to discuss this. Crappy things happen with any company or service...mistakes happen. But it's how they handle them that shows what they are. I won't be using Shuttle Express after this. read more

Shuttle Express is a great concept. Share rides to the airport and save some money. Getting a ride TO the airport from them is not that bad, depending on how far away you are, and how many other people they are going to pick up. But, a ride back from the airport is a huge cluster-fark. Once you find the "Courtesy station" (3rd floor across the skybridge after you get your bags, follow signs for ground transpo), you have to check in... this can take a long time if there is a line. Then once they know you are there you might get lucky and snag a van in 10 min, or it could be an hour. Make sure you make reservations or it will be way worse. With all that in mind, I usually am traveling with my lady. 2 people round trip is $40 +tip. We can get from Seatac to our house for $50+tip taking one of those airport cabs that are already lined up. No waiting + not having to make 3+ stops is worth the extra $10! The only way Shuttle express is worth it is if you are a single passenger... Otherwise just get a cab. read more

This is the third consecutive time in just the past year we've been stuck at the airport waiting an unacceptably long time for a shuttle that we reserved well in advance. Last Christmas, we had a group of five adults and a small baby, and waited for our shuttle for over two hours in the cold. We had just had a four hour flight. They didn't even have any heaters in the waiting area and nowhere to sit. We were all exhausted and hungry, and just wanted to get home. This will be the last time we use Shuttle "Express". I have never left a review before, but enough is enough. See, I have plenty of time to write this review as are not going anywhere for at least another 45 minutes, even though others are walking up to the podium and grabbing shuttles with no reservation at all. We were told that they are waiting for vehicles to return, so clearly the have a planning and dispatch problem. The prices have also gone up quite a bit and it's no longer a fair amount, in our opinion. Especially when you have to wait like this. Update: We waited an hour and twenty minutes this time, and were ultimately crammed into a van with 8 other riders. We were practically sitting on each other's laps. It was horrible. This is the first time I've used Shuttle Express and you can be sure that I will NEVER pay them to torture me EVER AGAIN. Now, usually I either complain to the business and get my money back or I write a nasty Yelp review. Friends, I am so angry at Shuttle Express that I would not be able to restrain myself from uttering many swears at the poor person unlucky enough to receive my call. I'm pretty sure I would never be transferred to the person whose fault it was anyway. After all, I'm not sure who at Shuttle Express is responsible for the routes the drivers take, but I want to nominate that person for Torturer of the Year Award. Allow me to explain: we were picked up at around 2 AM for a 6:40 international flight. They sent an SUV. The driver had already picked up a person from Edmonds who sat in the front with the driver, and then he picked up us three from Shoreline AND TOLD US TO SIT IN THE WAY BACK. As an aside, it was me- a normal sized female, my teen daughter, and my 6'1 husband. The driver proceeded to drive north on 405 somewhere I didn't even recognize that felt like Timbuktu. So then we pick up two additional people and the driver can't get all the bags in despite the fact that you need to tell Shuttle Express exactly how many bags and what type they are. Here's where ish goes down. The driver is trying to push the bags into my space so I literally have a cocoon to exist in from Timbuktu to the airport. Oh hells no. I am extremely claustrophobic and again A NORMAL SIZED PERSON. You guys, I started to cry uncontrollably. My poor husband made everybody get out and all 6'1 of him and my teen daughter spent from Timbuktu to the airport in a child sized cocoon. And the jackass sitting comfortably in the second row muttered "you wouldn't be able to be in a submarine like I was" (presumably in the Navy.) Well, sir, thank you SO much for your extremely unhelpful comment and I don't see YOU offering to switch with me. Also eff off. So, ride back home: Again, made to sit in the back. Dropped off the first person at a downtown hotel, THEN THE DRIVER DROPPED OFF A LADY IN BALLARD and proceeded to drive us to Shoreline through crown hill and greenwood as if we were Sunday driving. So let's recap. First ride we got to take a cramped ride at 2 am all the way to Timbuktu then the airport. On ride two, after traveling since 9:30 AM on an international flight (which they know your flights because you tell them) we get to take a long leisurely ride in the very back of a van for an hour and twenty minutes. Basically, I had a reservation, they didnt come, nearly missed my flight and had to get a ride at 5:00am. I would never use them again. A 3:50am pickup time was made for a 7:05am flight. The morning of my travel, the pickup window came and went. I called and was politely told that it should be just another 10 minutes, the driver had to make another pickup. At 4:30, I called again and was told that it should just be another 10 minutes. At $:50, an hour after my scheduled pick up, I called again and was told that my driver had already gone to the airport without me. I was given the option of waiting another 20 minutes and having some manager drive me, or cancelling my reservation. I would have to be a crazy person to believe that someone would actually show up to take me to the airport; I cancelled. I scrambled to get a ride to the airport at 5am on a workday, on terrible road conditions, with no notice and barely made my flight. No thanks to shuttle express. I also cancelled my pickup from the airport. Why would I expect any different service. While on hold the three different times I had to call to find out if anyone was coming, your looped recording kept telling me how important customer service was and how it was award winning. The reality was that your company did me a disservice. I could have arranged other transportation to the airport. I could have saved hours of sleep for me and my ride. I always use Shuttle Express when GOING to the airport, you can book your appointment on-line, they're on time with their pickups and have very friendly drivers. However when I'm home and at SeaTac, I run right down to the Cabs for the ride home. The reason? They are right there and ready to go, and I've waited 45 minutes for a van from Shuttle Express b4. I'm not blaming them, as it's tough for them when you just walk up. But for the extra 10 bucks or so that it costs me to get home quicker with a cab, it's a no brainer. I almost missed my flight due to Shuttle Express. They do many stops to pick up more Passengers, if they are not ready, they just wait for them...? It really does not worth it, I would rather spend little more and get a cab or a town car and get to the air port on time without dealing with other passengers issues. read more

Shuttle services are hit and miss. Usually miss. In a foreign country I enjoy the bumbling drivers because it gives me an opportunity to tour a city and stumble through a language. My stumbling usually includes me not knowing the difference between infinitive and past tenses and my shuttle driver not giving a shit so long as I tip well. In the United States I'm baffled by a driver that can't get me to my location as quickly as possible. Baffled is probably an understatement, I'm usually pissed. And we don't make small talk. Shuttle Express provides what can be expected of a domestic shuttle. Yes, you will end up in your destination. No, it won't happen quickly and you'll probably be frustrated by the process. If your experience is like mine, your shuttle will be full of old people that smell like baby powder. I've lived in Seattle a week and I realize that taking Aurora is a faster way to get me to my home than the Fremont bridge. Ultimately I got home. 3 stars for that. read more
