I cannot believe the change in this office for the NEGATIVE within the period of a year. His doctor is Dr. Grove. He is a wonderful Christian man. That did not change. But for the 10 minutes that we were with him, it really was not worth the way we were treated by the other office staff. I believe sensitivity training is in order for how to speak to an elderly patient. The first technician was RUDE. When she spoke to my father there was no kindness. She was totally doing her job and that was it. When she attempted one test, she was so incompetent that she had to get 2 other employees to help her. Maybe if she would have used better directional words my dad could have understood the task. Instead, she rudely sighed, said "nope" out loud and went to get help. When the trio came back, I said "let's remember he's 92 and he has Parkinson's ". At that point, nurse #1 told me I could have a seat in the waiting area. I said "absolutely not. I'm staying right here". So, after that, I was targeted as the B and my father's treatment went further downhill. The girl who did his refraction never made eye contact with me and said not one word of encouragement or kindness to my father. I'm sure nurse #1 told her how terrible I was. I left this review in the hopes that anyone having an elderly parent/relative going to LEC for an appointment goes with them to protect them from the generation of workers who are there now. They are RUDE and do not care for the elderly. DO NOT GO HERE! I would have put 0 stars for this review if I could have!

She explained the mechanics of the testing procedures and shared the results. The staff at Thurmont Eye Care did not dissappoint either. They were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They did not rush my decision of choosing frames and offered insightful advice that I would never thing about. (I appreciate the personalized time because glasses are a full time accessory on your face! If you don't like them, you can't hide or adjust like you can with a wrong haircut or makeup.) I called the morning of to confirm the appointment and ask how long it would take. I mentioned the time specifically. When we arrived on time for the appointment, we were told that the appointment was more than an hour earlier and we would have to wait more than an hour to be seen. It is a 45 minute commute each way. No courtesy reminders regarding appointments. Zero regard for the difficulty elderly patients face just in order to be at the appointments. Beyond frustrating.

This morning, Wednesday, I attempted to call for 30 minutes starting at 9:15 AM to no avail. Ludwick's answering system put me on hold for 10 minutes, so I disconnected and tried another phone number and was put on hold again for awhile. So I disconnected and tried a 3rd phone number and was put on hold for a long time when finally, I heard what sounded like a phone ringing and thought I would talk to one of Ludwick's reps. Instead, the phone rang and rang and rang,.... This painful phone interaction has happened to me when I attempted to call Ludwick a few months ago. It's an obvious pattern; I find it disrespectful of my time to be put on indefinite hold and I will not tolerate it. I am going to copy this comment and post it on whatever social media I can find. Ludwick's physicians seem good, but your customer service is atrocious.
