Solomon was my back up and I went in one day and we chatted for a moment and that's how I discovered they were siblings. It's crazy how things come full circle. For the majority of my visits I have not had to wait, but if you have to, it's worth it! Solomon is professional, friendly, and provides great service in a calm atmosphere.

I scheduled again with Jomar this week. He did not disappoint!! Deep tissue this time was perfect. I was feeling a little under the weather before my appointment, so I called to make sure it was OK if I still came in. I was encouraged to still come in since I wasn't contagious. Best decision! I now see another amazing massage therapist at Indy Massage Company named Matthew. He is pretty great, and I look forward to relaxing on his table each month at IMC. He is intuitive and firm yet incredibly gentle, and I'm able to just surrender and let him work his magic. I've mostly only booked Swedish massages with him, but one time I booked a longer session where he really worked out the muscles in my upper back and shoulders, which really needed attention. Welcome/Greeting: 3 stars I was immediately greeted and checked in but she called me by another name at first and did not give any other welcome or orientation. I had to ask about the restroom and she did tell me (not show) where to go. Bathroom facilities: 3 stars. Relatively clean and functional but only one toilet and no "amenities" like other waxing centers might have. No complaints but no bonus points either Service and service provider: 5 stars Kristin is wonderful and there is something amazing about EWC wax. Less pain than other facilities. Don't get me wrong, it's not a walk in the park but definitely better. And I have less irritation and recovery time after coming here. Check out: 5 stars Smooth and easy. I also love their products and did get something to take home with me for maintenance. Zero sales pressure, which I appreciate. Price: 4.5 stars on par with other facilities and maybe a bit cheaper than some. But you do see it with the little things. There's room for improvement but with an amazing service provider and a superior wax product, the other items seem a little trivial.

Finding a good salon is like dating. I've had to go through several mediocre experiences (or "bad…read moredates") to find the right place and the right stylist - but finally, I found my match. Salon 6 is just north of the main Broad Ripple village off of College Ave. My favorite thing about this salon (other than the haircuts I get) is the overall atmosphere. It has a small boutique vibe that is relaxed and unpretentious. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and offer you a drink of choice while you wait. The waiting area has a little bit of a New Age feel with some beautiful stones and crystals and local artisan jewelry. It immediately feels very relaxing. They have a few complementary add on services you can choose from, and I especially enjoy the Vitamin D lamp in the winter when I'm missing the sunshine. My stylist, Heidi, has given me some of the best haircuts I've ever had, hands down. When I booked my first appointment with her she took the time to talk about what I wanted and ask me questions. After allowing my hair to grow for a couple years and really doing nothing with it, I was looking for a "long shag" cut which I had asked for from other stylists at other salons that never seemed to turn out the way I envisioned it. Lucky for me, Heidi is spectacular at shag cuts and also specializes in razor cuts, which can be difficult to find. I told her I was ready for a change and to go for it and the results were even better than what I had in mind. Since then I've received multiple compliments on my cuts with an added comment "that's the kind of cut I've been wanting and I can't find someone to do it right!" My visits are always pleasant and relaxing. I never feel pressured to chat or make small talk, but when we do it's easy and laid back. I always leave with a fresh cut and style that makes me feel like I just treated myself to something luxurious without the feeling of a stuffy, ostentatious "luxury" salon where everyone leaves with basically the same haircut, color, extensions, etc. Salon 6 not only meets what I'm looking for in a salon experience, but Heidi takes it to the next level with her killer haircuts.
