Upon arriving I was met out front by an employee while helped with getting all of the documents I wanted to shred out of their boxes and into the company's bins. He then proceeded to shred the documents while I waited in their facility (which was clean and well lit) until he was ready to take payment. I had no problem getting my papers shredded. The problem occurred when it was time to pay. I gave the man running the business an ATM card. It was declined. I said I thought there was a problem with the iPad/telepad he was using, but I offered another ATM from a different bank, again it was declined. Again I said there is something wrong with the iPad connection. Then I remembered this had happened a previous time I went there and I told him that. He denied anything was wrong and it was my problem. Then I offered him a credit card and that was declined. I had to go home and return with my checkbook. I wrote a check from the same account that the ATM was declined from and I told him that. He didn't care and took my check. My response to him was to advertised cash or check only because his business really does not accept other payments. I'm curious to know if anyone else has tried to pay with an ATM or credit card? read more
