This Staples was my go to for a decade for printer ink, back to school supplies and any other…read moreoffice supply items I may need at home. Although more convenient to buy these things on Amazon, I believe it's important to spend my money locally. That said, I will never step foot in this Staples again. I popped in to do an Amazon return then planned to purchase some printer ink. The last time I did an Amazon return at Staples, the counter was by the printer counter. It's now been moved to the cashier area. I walk in the store, normally get greeted but no one did. Walked to the printer area, saw the sign pointing me to the cashier area for Amazon returns. There are two cashiers, neither say anything to me but one makes eye contact. Each had a customer, no one else in the line. Both of them are obviously drawing out their transactions, I'm guessing no one likes Amazon returns. No biggie, I'll wait my turn. After a minute or two goes by, I ask if there is someone who works at the returns. I'm told someone will help me soon. Ok. The one guy, whose line I have been in on several trips and who is normally friendly and kind, finishes with his customer, looks around, sees an older lady with a cart full of items walking to the check out line. He stops right near where I'm standing, fully aware I'm there, takes the cart and kindly says to her, let me help you and proceeds to start scanning her items. She says, I'm not quite done, I was looking for a whatever. I say "hey, I was here first". In this snotty, condescending tone he tells me someone would be with me. I asked again if someone worked at returns. And again with the snotty tone he tells me "we all do and you have to wait your turn". I tell him I was there before the other lady and he knew it because he spoke to me. I left. Office Depot is close, Staples in Auburn has wonderful customer service and Amazon delivers. Staples on Stanford Ranch lost my business.

I missed her call Friday but noticed she also emailed me. I replyed to her email regarding my options and she not only got back to me "after" store closing hours Friday evening but also thoroughly explained how she could produce the best quality copy and the cost. I told her I'd follow-up after the holiday weekend. She left a message Tuesday that the print was ready for pickup. Molly went over and above my expectations, gave of her time and clearly explained and answered all my questions, clearly a not a profitable job for all the time she spent with me! I suggest you Google her company and read her background and how she arrived and has grown her business in Rocklin, my home town for over 30 years! When I questioned why that was necessary just to mail a letter, I was told they needed to add me into their system to "make things easier next time." Another employee chimed in and said this was "standard." I made it clear that I did not want my personal information stored in their system just to send a piece of mail. The entire interaction felt unnecessary and intrusive, so I trusted my gut and left. I then went to the local USPS office up the street, mailed the same letter without having to hand over my driver's license or personal data, and it cost significantly less. Based on my experience, I would avoid this location unless absolutely necessary.

We decided I could email him the artwork. I phoned my client with a quick question before I proceeded with Premier, and she said never mind, her husband already handled it. The price for one single stamp is $.078. I was charged $1.25 which is a $.047 or 60% markup. When I said something about the price the two males behind the counter started laughing and speaking in a language that was not English and so I did not understand what was being said. That is offensive! No thank you. I have a printer it's cheaper to use pirate ship to purchase postage and ship packages. I'll drop them off to the UPS store though, they can manage that part, hopefully laughing the whole way. :)

As someone who represents the face of the store, her behavior is consistently rude and unwelcoming. She often comes across as having a power trip and is snappy with customers, creating an uncomfortable environment. It's baffling to me how someone who appears to dislike interacting with people so much is in a customer-facing role. I genuinely don't understand how she is still employed here, given the consistently negative experience she provides. I hope this issue is addressed, as it significantly impacts the overall impression of this location.
