I had a disappointing experience with this company. After discussing the different paper thickness, I asked Erica for a quote, she wrote the prices on a sticky note and handed it to me, which felt very unprofessional. To make matters worse, I ordered samples and specifically requested an 8.5x11" size, when I came back to pick up the samples, they printed smaller version while charging $10 per sample stating that the file was that size. Other companies printed the same file at the correct size without extra charges. Additionally, there was no communication from their team about this issue. As a business owner, I was eager to work with them on brochures and marketing materials, but this experience has led me to choose a different company. I won't be recommending their services to any of my business partners. Very disappointed. read more

I don't do tons of printing but I had them do 1000 flyers for some advertising needs. Pros: They printed a proof for free and warned me that the picture and pixel quality wasn't up to their standards. I still thought it looked good enough for what I needed it for. So I had 1000 one sided color flyers on premium paper printed for around $165. The turnaround time was only a few days and they hand delivered the finished product to my office. Cons: Probably could have found a cheaper deal online, but with things like this it's nicer to have a person to talk to. Overall: They gave me a 10% off new customer first time discount, so if you need something printed, can't hurt to give them a try. read more

I am an artist and often need prints of my digital work. I have tried a few places and Avalon Printing & Graphics was one of them. I can only give this place 2 stars for the following reasons: 1, they said a print the size 8x8 will be about $6. I said (in an email) that is too expensive for me especially since other print shops only charge about $1 for the same thing. And I asked very specifically in the email if there were anything they can do to reduce the price. I went ahead with the print because I assumed I must be getting a much better quality. When I went in to pick up the print, I asked why it was so much more than other print shops and the lady told me they could have put it on an 8.5x11 and only charged $1.50. I'm upset that I wasn't offered this option after asking if the price can be reduced. 2, after asking about pricing the lady went to ask another lady for more info and while they were talking they lowered their voices and kept glancing at me as if they were talking about me behind my back. It was a really weird vibe and it felt like high school. Even though the lady who spoke to me directly was always perfectly nice. 3, a year or so ago I had some digital images I wanted to print and they refused to print them because they were "risqué". This is their choice but I felt the artwork was not too inappropriate and it is my personal art being printed for personal use. So, again, I can't tell them what they should and shouldn't print, but keep this in mind if you are an artist and want to do art freely without printing restrictions. Thanks for reading. This way I can upload it to my website for customers to view i advance. The price was very reasonable and they had it finished and ready to send me on monday morning. I've been having Avalon Printing do my business printing for several years. During that time, they have continually been slower than expected in graphic design turnaround time and actual production time. The last interaction was the straw that broke the camel's back and forced me to another local printer. I brought my new artwork into Avalon to have business cards, letterhead and envelopes printed. The clerk at the front desk told me the design would be completed in "2 to 3 days" and I would get an email with the proofs. After 4 days, I called Avalon and was told the clerk I spoke with was at lunch. This seemed odd since I called at 3:30 pm and the store isn't open very late. Not receiving a return call, I called again about 4:45 pm and was advised that the clerk was not at lunch but rather, on vacation and my order hadn't been touched since I left it there 4 days prior. I cancelled my order and ordered through another printer in Roseville. I received faster service and more competitive pricing elsewhere. The only reason for 2 stars instead of 1 star is because they had performed reasonably (not great but reasonably) in the past. read more
