I came here to shred about a dozen boxes of paper. They charge $15/banker's box of paper. You can…read morebring in your paper in whatever box size or container you want--you'll just dump it all into these plastic garbage bins (similar to the ones used for yard waste), and they will eyeball how many boxes it is based on how much it fills up the bin. There weren't any markings on the inside of the bin, and there were already papers inside, so I wasn't sure how they knew how many boxes it was. Seems like the guy just guesstimates how many boxes worth is in there. In my case I felt it was fairer to me, so that was fine. The employees were friendly, but the one drawback was privacy concerns. They said they would put locks on the bins, but none of them I saw were actually locked. And if you have a smaller amount of paper to shred, they have another machine that one of the employees just feeds in themselves. I saw they were doing one woman's papers in front of her and pretty much looking at all of them. It seemed like they had good intentions of making sure you're not shredding anything valuable, but like I don't care--you should assume I've already sorted them and not look through my private documents! So obviously not a place for enterprise security, but for most personal paperwork it's probably fine.

Needed Fax service [Roseville CA]…read more I needed to use a fax service and I don't have access to a fax machine from my work since I am currently on leave of absence and I didn't own one at home. I called around our local postal stores and home office supply stores. Office Depot seemed to be the most reasonably priced. I had 3 pages to fax and an employee helped me through the process. He was very nice and patient. Rate was reasonable. First page was free and $2 thereafter. Other employees in the store I came in contact with were also nice and greeted me. The Fax machines were in the same area as the TSA Precheck enrollment/renewal service. Overall satisfied with the experience. It's very rare I visit an office supply store. I am so completely unhappy with Iron Mountain! My company has had records stored since 1991- we no…read morelonger have an Account Rep to ask questions or go to directly for support. You guys raise our rates which seems like every 6 months and do this without notifying us. Your customer service line is an absolute joke, no one calls back in the "24-48 hour" timeline and your customer service team has nothing better to say when there's an issue other than "I'm sorry Ma'am this is all I can do". I've heard the spiels, expedited, emailing destruction, call you back, all just words to make the customer feel like you're accomplishing something when in reality you do not. I have literally been working on straightening out our IM mess since February and now it's mid July!! And for Christ sake GIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS A PHONE NUMBER TO YOUR DESTRUCTION DEPARTMENT. Pretty stone age that one department can't communicate with another. Calling it a NIGHTMARE to deal with you guys is me being nice. We are taking our 1000+ boxes and leaving, after you charge us the ridiculous fees of course.
