I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Azeem. I went to this urgent care for multiple itchy…read morered bumps that I believed were insect bites. He diagnosed the condition as contact dermatitis and prescribed oral antibiotics and oral steroids for one week. He also advised me to pay $250 in cash instead of billing the visit through my insurance, which made me uncomfortable. Because I was concerned about taking these medications without being certain they were necessary, I later consulted a dermatologist. The dermatologist diagnosed the condition as mosquito bites and advised me to use hydrocortisone cream. The bites healed within approximately three days with the topical treatment. I understand that medical opinions can differ, but I was very concerned that I had been prescribed oral antibiotics and steroids when the dermatologist determined that only a mild topical cream was needed. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this practitioner.

I was surprised to read the scathing review posted by VW Lady "VW Lady" B because her singular…read moreexperience with Dr. Cerni was the antithesis of my own experience on scores of occasions over the last two decades. My curiosity having been aroused, I took the time to review this Yelper's profile and her history of past Yelp reviews. It appears that "VW Lady" has experienced a sweeping panoply of medical issues and has had uniformly horrible outcomes with each and every medical provider with whom she has ever consulted. In fewer than three years, she posted thirty-seven negative reviews (thirty-five 1-star and two 2-star) about the physicians she consulted. The travails of "VW Lady" would appear sufficient to try the patience of Job. I can only hope that, someday, she obtains the particular type and calibre of care which she clearly needs and merits. That having been said, I respectfully (albeit vehemently) disagree with "VW Lady's" censuring Dr. Cerni. P.S. Notably, "VW Lady" offered nothing but praise for the "Ashoka the Great" Indian Buffet restaurant in Artesia and gave it a 5-star rating. It is one of only three vendors upon whom she heaped such plaudits. That is especially high praise indeed considering the gimlet eye which she has turned upon other merchants. I will make a point of visiting that restaurant the next time that I am in the vicinity and am feeling peckish.

She has an office full of compassionate staff, and while I can't remember her name, the lady who sits at the front desk the majority of the time, is absolutely amazing! Once you get back in the room, you will experience more waiting but you'll understand why as soon as you meet this fabulous doctor. The only reason I stopped seeing Dr. Cerni is because I moved out of town. If I ever move back to OC, I will definitely go back to her.

I have gone to Jason Kurtz for many years, until we had to extract our entire family from his…read morepractice. In the very beginning when he first started and was a brand new doctor, he was awesome. Now he's a total jerk and he has his uneducated office staff and PA running the business. just a few of our most prominent issues: 1. I was extorted by the front office, that he would not see me unless I paid a missed appointment, which I did not schedule. 2. The office refused to treat me, for a raging bladder infection that they tested me for, even though I'm a regular annual patient. I refused to pay the $50 to come BACK to the office the same day, for the RX. 3. His physicians assistant incorrectly diagnosed me as having HPV. And I had to go to another doctor for an incredibly painful procedure, all for nothing. I did not have HPV. 4. In my opinion Kurtz now has a God complex, he didn't used to. ***5. THEY REFUSED TO TREAT ME, AFTER I LEFT MY URINE SAMPLE....UNLESS I PAID WHAT FEELS LIKE A $50 EXTORTION FEE, in order to give me my prescription. When the doctor says they don't hold back care because of an unpaid balance, that is entirely incorrect, and I believe he's lying. His behavior is reprehensible, and he is fully aware of this. Don't say you weren't warned. ....*add the fact that he stands by his uneducated and extremely unprofessional staff, says even more. Do better Dr Kurtz. I had been in the market for medical insurance through Covered CA but the cheapest one I could…read morefind, that also allowed me to go to the doctors I had been going to for years, was a bit expensive. I decided to look into other options and did a search for places I could pay out of pocket. When I lived in Mexico, I had been using the services at a local hospital, paying a monthly membership fee for their services so imagine my surprise when I found out that the exact same system existed here. That was when I found Dr. Marisse so I booked an appointment. I found her originally on Zocdoc and the nearest appointment was in a month and a half. Within a day of making the appointment, I was called by the office to Nurse Shawna who wanted to make sure that I knew that all appointments needed a preliminary chat with the Doc, after which I could book my appointment. thanked me for letting her know that the next available appointment was that far away. It turned out there was a mix-up and that she did have more immediate appointments available. There is plenty of parking, as it is in shared parking lot with other businesses. However, there are two buildings with the same building number but with different locale numbers. Upper Echelon is in the building nearest to the AAA and the Farmer Boys. At the appointment, everything was clearly explained and we went over a sort of plan of attack, with regards to my concerns and what I needed to do. I appreciated paying less per month for the membership, which includes as many appointments as you want. The lab work and the tests are at wholesale prices so even with the membership fee and registration, all of this was cheaper than the plan I was going to get with insurance. What I appreciated was the quickness of getting an appointment. I have always hated waiting a few weeks, as a new patient, before actually being seen but I was able to book this within a week of the appointment. It was a week because their availability interfered with my work hours. Otherwise, I would have been seen earlier. All in all, it is pretty convenient and a wallet-friendly option. After that first appointment and the lab results came in, Dr. Marisse wrote a VERY long email detailing every point of concern. Which I appreciated because I went for answers and I was getting them. If you need a straightforward person to tell you what you need to be doing and not someone who has to be on your ass every step of the way, this is the ideal option. I would say the ONLY con is that they do not have appointments during the weekends. And since I work during the week, I have to take time off to go to an appointment.
