I have no idea who "Bobby" who responded as the owner of SHR is. Perhaps Steve sold the business? How would bobby know anything about this. Steve is the one who kicked loose the plumbing and Steve is the one that refused to repair the damage. Steve also did not even go into the attic to see what the issue was. I went up and found and repaired the fitting that was broken loose. As for anything free, the thing repaired over the years were shoddy wiring that SHR was responsible for and a failed motor that was under parts warranty, but of course they charged for all that. The only free thing they did is give me an overpriced estimate for a new furnace and during which they damaged the drainage, cause significant damage. read more

Steve was very responsive and was able to come out to provide a quote for our new AC unit even though it was rather late. He was patient when answering my questions and provided multiple options, each with reasonable prices. When I called him the next morning to ask when he could come out to install the unit, he mentioned he could be there the same afternoon! These guys are great. I have not really ever had an HVAC vendor that I trusted so I typically try a new vendor every service call. I had some extra time on new years day and filled out the "Contact Us" form on their website. I typically expect people to call within 24 hours but was surprised when they called back within an hour or two. They set an appointment for a time within 48 hours and arrived within the time they stated. After it was all said and done, I wish I would have called them sooner. The problem was resolved in under an hour and the price was nowhere near as expensive as I feared. They even helped with managing expectations on the unit for the future. My heater was not working properly and runs on natural gas. I was really worried that there was a leak or a problem or something dangerous. Just a little panicked! We just moved into an older house and the furnace hasn't been working. I called Steve and he was there the next day and immediately assessed the problem: we need a new thermostat. would recommend anyone to not use this company. did not have a good experience with them. installed new ac in our remodel. did not install correctly. no junction box on wiring (potential fire hazard), wiring on exterior not properly shielded (dog could easily chew through unprotected wire and be electrocuted) and wiring was rubbing against sharp metal (see pic) that was quickly cutting it because it was not installed properly. all units installed leaked on the inside of our home because the "professional" did not know you were supposed to use a torque wrench to properly tighten the line connections. did not clean up after themselves, left trash all around the areas they worked and i had to clean up myself to keep working on the house (see pics). they had me pay them telling me they were almost done with install so i trusting them paid, and now A YEAR LATER finally got them to finish/properly install them were i could actually use the ac without it leaking on our new floors, which it did and we showed them and they did not offer to repair or do anything about that. Steven has probably been out around 15 times to our house over the last year as we tried to get him to install the ac's properly. and i know he took jobs and put them in front of us instead of finishing the job he had already been paid for because he was working across the street when he had "finished" our house. most of the problems he eventually fixed because we kept on him about it and we had other professionals come out to tell us what he did wrong. last time he came we had a carrier technician come out with him to tell him how to do things properly. Don't let Steven take advantage of you, he'll just say things are fine and thats how its supposed to be. there are still little things that aren't done properly that i need to have them fix but its so stressful to deal with this company over and over again. anyways i could go on but hopefully that's enough to tell anyone not to use this company. not professionals, do not trust. read more

I was having an issue where I smelled gas coming from the vents when the heat was on. I have CO detectors but you can't be too careful. I decided to call two companies - the other company I called also had 5 yelp stars but they never returned my call OR my yelp quote request. SHR answered my call right away, said they would be out in a couple hours, and arrived within 1.5 - earlier than expected which is unheard of. He came in, immediately looked at both my HVAC units (he had to tell me I had a second one; I only knew I had one previously!) and inspected and verified that both were in good condition. He responded in under 15 minutes when I called after 11pm , (Unlike a rival 24hr service who simply never returned my call to this day) My reg guy was Bus hrs only and only a bit cheaper for the same repair (over 6 years ago) BUT time off from work to deal with him would have meant that The repair would have cost MORE in lost time & wages as well as suffering waiting till business hrs. SHR was able to respond & arrive within 1 (Very lucky for me ) and was EXTREMELY well trained & experienced on HVAC Listening to my symptoms for the unit he was able to determine that he had the part before he got here and was able to repair the unit within 1 hr, (under 2 hrs total) It has been running GREAT for 2 days now ,I wanted to be sure it all worked & was truly fixed IT IS !!!! The price with late night service was VERY REASONABLE & he was EXTREMELY competitive with guys who only work bus hrs & FASTER than his 24 hr competitors ... Counting the time & revenue I would have missed from work it was actually WAY CHEAPER to pay a just a little bit more & go with SHR than a bus hrs only competitor & PRICELESS to be able to be cool & comfortable in under 2 hours .... Our Go-To heating and A/C guys. Steve was temporarily unavailable when we started having trouble with the heater. The guy who we had come out told us the coils were so dirty that air wasn't flowing well and it was causing the heater to overheat and shut off - but that didn't sound right because the unit shut off Before the fan even kicked in. Steve came out and said that while the coils were dirty, they were Not as dirty as we were told and since they would most likely need to be replaced a couple years down the road due to age, he didn't think it was worth the expense to clean them now. Steve could have easily supported the first estimate and we wouldn't have known it really wasn't needed. This is the 3rd time we've hired Steve in the past 2-3 years. He and his team do a good job, take the trouble to keep the area clean, are honest & straight-forward about what needs to be done and do the work for a reasonable price. I only wish he had a larger crew so that we didn't have to wait a day or two... but i have the feeling that if it was a real emergency, he find a way to get to us sooner. read more
