The people you interact with aren't the easiest as I requested a quote for a new rail, new rollers…read moreand then added a lock mechanism (which would not stay in the door as it seemed like the spring was worn). It seemed like they didn't even read my online submission as they called and immediately tried to schedule an appointment without providing a quote. After declining a $600-$800 amount, we hung up. I then received multiple phone calls from a couple of different people and agreed upon a $500 = tax for ~$542 to replace the rails, rollers and fix the locking mechanism. When the apparent "unrelated" worker showed up, he informed me that they did not replace rails (Youtube videos showed otherwise but regardless...) but he would clean it. When he had completed the roller replacement, he was unaware he needed to fix the locking mechanism. He then replaced it as it was a mechanism that had to be replaced vs. repaired as it was enclosed. When it was all said and done, the rollers were replaced and the lock was replaced but the rail was not replaced and I was charged ~$30 more than agreed upon which was already higher than I thought it should be. The worker was excellent but the rest of the experience was lass than desirable in my opinion.

I called them to repair the glass in our patio door…read more They provided an estimate. There was a mixup on availability of the replacement glass. They worked hard to get the replacement within the time frame promised. They fixed the door for about 1/5th of what I was quoted for a new door. Great company to do business with.

When I gave them the size being 20" x 42" which equates to 5.25 United feet as they define it, they replied with the price of $62. What they really meant is a dollar per unit inch because 42 inches +20 inches equals 62 inches. Since that is more than the screen is worth, I have declined their services. I can actually buy a whole new screen and a frame for that price. Units make all the difference. Buyer beware to make sure they're both talking about the same thing.

Shoutout to Tracy for making scheduling very easy & thanks Nick for the awesome work! Had a cracked pane on my old insulated casement window, called Gilpin first since they're a local family owned shop & pretty close to my house. They quoted me an estimate I thought was too good to be true, $250 all in. Scheduled an estimate/measurement for a few days later, ordered my glass and a week later their tech Nick knocked out the job in an hour flat. Nick was swift but delicate throughout the process & his caulking was very clean. His removal and install were impressive, never forced anything & clearly mechanically inclined. Final all in price was $251.32! I called 2 competitors for estimates and they were 1) not as friendly and 2) 30-50% more expensive. Call Gilpin if you need your glass serviced & remember to tip your technicians!
