in short, window makeover windows fail after 5 years…read more well, it appears that window makeover isn't any better than any other transient window company. i have had window makeover repair and replace many of my windows over the past five years and the first window that i had replaced now is rotten. and window makeover is standing by their 5 year warranty and not fixing or replacing the window. Exactly at 5 years the window needs to replaced. Also all of the repaired or replaced windows will probably need to be replaced as the windows get to be 5 years old. Also don't count on getting records or proof of purchase from window make over because they have changed software and they don't have old installations.

Rance and his company, Windowman, are simply the best at what they do -- and I say that having…read morelived long enough to know the difference. A few weeks ago, my wife and I purchased a new home with a walkout basement bedroom and an egress window. My wife claimed the room as her own, but shortly after we moved in, she discovered a wet spot in the carpeting near the window. I didn't know where to turn, so I consulted ChatGPT, which pointed me to Windowman. It turned out to be the best recommendation I could have received. I soon learned that Rance is widely regarded as the foremost expert in egress windows in the entire state. I called the company, and Rance reached out promptly and arranged to come by the next day. I braced myself for the worst -- a high-pressure sales pitch and a bill somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000. But Rance was unlike any contractor I've dealt with. He assessed the problem, and almost immediately told me I didn't need a new window at all -- he could repair the existing one. I was relieved. When I asked when he could do the work, he said he'd return at the end of his day to handle it himself. When I asked about cost, he told me not to worry, and we eventually settled on a price that was almost embarrassingly reasonable. True to his word, Rance returned late on a Friday afternoon and completed the repair in just a few hours. But he didn't stop there. Rather than simply fixing the problem, he had cleaned up the entire area and replaced all the surrounding metal trim, leaving the window looking and functioning like new. When I pointed out that this was far more than we'd agreed to, he said simply that he wanted the window to be as good as new -- so that's what he made it. That kind of pride in one's work is rare, and it's rarer still in the home contracting industry. What happened next is something I have never done in my 79 years: I paid him more than he asked. I couldn't, in good conscience, accept the quality of work I received for what he intended to charge me. Rance and Windowman have my highest and most enthusiastic recommendation. If you have an egress window issue -- or any window issue -- stop searching. You've already found the right person.

I would not hire this company, they also was not truthful. What was on their website was completely different from what the consultant told me. None of is was true. I told him he had to leave, his attitude was problem for me. He sucked. Companies need to know they are employing, family or not. They are here to represent your company, which makes you look pretty bad. Your company has lost on a significant amount of money because of his sucky attitude towards me. I wonder, how many other clients were treated this way. I will never deal with this company again. That is how bad he sucked. I would not recommend this company. Now I see why you can't leave a review on their website, that has been removed. They have had alot of bad reviews. If I could rate a 0, I would.

We were happy to see his recommendations and made the choice quickly and easily. The zebra blinds are something new and are great fabric addition. The motorized rollers are great, and work well and make life a lot easier for our bay window. Dale his installer was here and did an outstanding job removing the old and replacing the new. We had seven windows which he got done in less than 2 hours. I was very impressed with the organized way he did things and his pleasant banter throughout. Thanks Dale great to have someone so efficient. It was a very painless and well executed sell and install. Would recommend this company to anyone, any time. The Window Valet is the way to go people.

I believe this company has lost its luster…read more They were "five star" when I had 25 window blinds and four electric blinds installed eight years ago in my new house. The product was good and the installation was flawless. But now eight years later they seem to put the customer last. This evaluation stems from a recent encounter when I requested help from the company after a battery for one of my electric blinds wouldn't accept a charge. Their immediate recommendation was to replace the motors for all four electric blinds at a cost around $1,000. Needless to say, I was stunned by their recommendation. I was pretty sure it was either a bad battery or a bad charger. They offered to send a technician out to assess my problem as long as I agreed to pay a $150 trip charge. Well that offer just sucked all the joy out of me. Instead, I asked if I could speak with a technician so I could describe what I discovered after conducting some basic testing. They said they would have someone call me, but nobody did. Further testing supported my belief that the charger was bad. I found an exact replacement online for the device I had, but the manufacturer had discontinued it. That told me everything I needed to know. I found another charger on Amazon for $15 and it was delivered the next day. Thank you Amazon. The new charger worked. Problem solved. I have to say I was extremely happy that $15 for a new charger saved me from spending $1000 to replace four window blind motors.......plus a $150 trip charge (eye roll here) .... :). Bottom line: they might still do good installations, but their follow-up support needs some work.

The people you interact with aren't the easiest as I requested a quote for a new rail, new rollers…read moreand then added a lock mechanism (which would not stay in the door as it seemed like the spring was worn). It seemed like they didn't even read my online submission as they called and immediately tried to schedule an appointment without providing a quote. After declining a $600-$800 amount, we hung up. I then received multiple phone calls from a couple of different people and agreed upon a $500 = tax for ~$542 to replace the rails, rollers and fix the locking mechanism. When the apparent "unrelated" worker showed up, he informed me that they did not replace rails (Youtube videos showed otherwise but regardless...) but he would clean it. When he had completed the roller replacement, he was unaware he needed to fix the locking mechanism. He then replaced it as it was a mechanism that had to be replaced vs. repaired as it was enclosed. When it was all said and done, the rollers were replaced and the lock was replaced but the rail was not replaced and I was charged ~$30 more than agreed upon which was already higher than I thought it should be. The worker was excellent but the rest of the experience was lass than desirable in my opinion.
