Nestled unassumingly in a strip mall, you would never know this fabulous little slice of artistic…read morewhimsy exists. The owner, Heather, has taken the reins from her momma, and this family-owned business has been framing beautifully for 41 years. The shop features a selection of local artists with goods for sale in a variety of media, everything from jewelry to soaps, oils to papercrafts. The selection and pricing is amazing. After having framing done with a rival local chain for years, I was gobsmacked when I got my estimate for my most recent piece with this company instead. What an amazing business. Unequivocally recommend!

My wife and I have been coming to this little framing shop in Greenwood for several years. I…read morerecently was gifted an art sketch from a local artist and wanted to make sure it was preserved. When I walked in, I was greeted by the staff and we talked about my options. Not only did they listen to what I wanted, but they offered to show me some options that would really complement the colors within the picture. They even suggested UV glass to keep the colors from fading. They had a lot of options for mattes and for frames. But understand, this isn't a place with a bunch of frames and they just slap your picture inside. Instead, they have a lot of frame and matte options that are custom built to fit your picture exactly. Having custom built frames does add to the cost, but if you have a keepsake that you want protected, this place does it right! Although I was originally told it may take a couple weeks due to the slow down from the pandemic, I was glad to get a call that it was ready in only one week. I was very pleased with the result. It was easy to hang when I got it home and I know that the UV glass will preserve the quality of the picture for much longer than if they hadn't suggested it. Not the cheapest place, but you don't wait in line for ever like at those big box places for someone to help you. They aren't cheap either. But this was a once in a lifetime gift, so I wanted to be sure it was taken care of and framed right! Review #3794

This frame shop moved from the other side of town to a old little sandwich shop right by my work. I…read morehad purchased a piece of art in Mexico and I have been meaning to get it framed for months. I walked in and there are hundreds of frames to pick from. JoEllen was finishing up w a client so I looked around. She got right to me when she was done. She asked me what I was looking for and I said inexpensive. So she pulled some frames so me and we went from there. She was so nice and helpful. The pic was ready in just a little over a week. I saw it, they wrapped it up great and cozy and it is in a perfect spot on my wall. Honestly I normally go to Michaels or Jo Ann's but with this place close to me it is my new frame shop.

This is a Kenyan wedding necklace gifted to me by friends that I have worked with at a non-profit in Kenya. It's all hand beaded. JoEllen worked with each strand to fasten it in a way that the chimes still move a bit but each stand is pulled taunt. She cut the custom keyhole to mimic the shape of the top. I couldn't be more in love with how it turned out! The solid white frame and matte let the colors shine and was easy to match when framing addition pieces to make this gallery wall! JoEllen is taking orders by phone and appointment and offering curbside service during Covid-19. If you have a project you'd like to check off your list I highly recommend reaching out to JoEllen!

STICKER SHOCK. It…read moreabsolutely pains me to write this review - The Great Frame Up had all the makings of a five star review. This charming red house on a side street in Carmel has a plethora of frame options available. The kind staffperson was super helpful and worked with me every step of the way to create what I wanted. She had an artistic eye and helped me with choosing colors and frame styles. I enjoyed the mix and match process and was really happy with what I selected. But then...the price tag. I was looking to frame three separate art/calligraphy prints (not even 8.5 x 11) and the price for EACH was $250. WHAT??? My jaw about dropped to the floor. Literally everything else about this experience was great except for the price tag. I understand professional framing is pricey, but I had no idea it would be this much. I will be going elsewhere for my framing needs.

I went here to have two 8x10 pictures mounted in the same frame. The guy that helped me was great…read moreand did a nice job suggesting frame styles and backing colors. When he was done he entered it in the computer to get the total. He said two-fifty-two. I said "Dollars!". That's right. For a nine by 22 inch wood frame and some blue cardboard, they wanted $252. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to go searching for a cheaper place, so I just had him do it. A day later it was ready. It was very well done and looked awesome. The person I gave the gift to loved it. But damn, $252 for a frame was a little shocking. They clearly do good work, but be prepared to pay for it.
