My nails lasted me only 12 days before lifting started. That's very disappointing because I had a friend and Her nails lasted over a month. So it just depends who does your nails here. We both got pedicures, they have several pedicure chairs and adequate staff for a busy weekend day. We've come here several times and been happy with their services. They have different options for pedicures basic to deluxe which could include paraffin and a hot stone massage. Even the basic pedicure usually last a few weeks. read more

I have been to this place four times, every time I come in I get exactly what I want except this last time. I previously had ombre nails, which was no issue before when getting new work done but this particular time it was. He felt like he had filed my nails down enough and I calmly asked him to file it down more, he said no its enough. I said as the customer, I am asking you to file my nails down and he said he does not like to be told how to do his job. I said I am the customer and I am not letting you paint my nails without it being smooth, he said it is smooth enough, I responded no it is not please file them down. He got defensive for me asking him to file my nails down, they are my nails that I am paying for so why are you making this a bigger deal than it needs to be? WHY WONT YOU FILE MY NAILS DOWN SIR? He said I just do not want to pay.. WHAT?? I have paid 60 dollars the last time I came in, the job was 45 and I tipped the 15 because of how good he did my nails and when I asked for anything to be done he did it. But for this man he did not want to, I am not going to be walking around with rough nails for two weeks because you feel it is good enough when it is not. He said he will paint my nails and if it is rough THEN HE WILL FILE THEM DOWN. Sir, that does not make sense. File them down before you paint them, you are especially double working yourself for no reason. Then he told me to leave and never come back, GLADLY. I got upset before I left and yelled at him but he basically insulted me. Mind you I waited 45 minutes to get my nails done in the first place. I walked out with my nails incomplete because I asked for him to file my nails down. I do not like bulky nails and I should not have to get what you give me if I am paying for my nails. Hate this place. Now I have a photo of the 'fill in' he was to use his tools to take the ombre off like they have always done but he said because I have ombre he could not. I made a mistake coming here. My regular nail salon was closed for holiday, so I stopped in here for a new set. First off, prices seem to be a bit high, which if this was good quality work, might not be so bad. Charlie was my technician. He talked me into pink and white gel, saying would last longer. $53.00 after standard tip. Within 1 day, they are lifting and look absolutely terrible. They overlap my cuticle on the sides, and not sure what kind of top coat was used, but my cuticle look nasty! Not going back. I'll do the walk of shame back to my regular nail salon and beg them to fix this mess :(. read more

I came for pedicures with my 6 year old daughter because I could walk in. They were not very busy and we didn't wait long. They have very cute chairs for kids pedicures. The lady that did my daughter's feet was nice and sat with her while they dried. She even put a little flower on her big toes and only charged me $15. My daughter had a very nice time. The lady that did my toes was very rough. My water was almost cold and they kept trying to fix the jets in the tub. She also kept laughing and I wasn't sure if she was laughing to herself or at something else going on. Kind of strange. She used way too much lotion on my legs. I had to wash my legs when I came home because they felt greasy. The place was clean, but their equipment is obviously very old. My toes look nice and my heals are soft again, but I probably will try a different place next time. read more

The man who did my powder nails did an excellent job! My friend bought me a gift certificate for this place. I went to use it, but they didn't give her an actual certificate, just the envelope. They refused to let me use the certificate even though they are the people who didn't give her the proper certificate in the first place. They said if I came back with a copy of the bank statement, they would honor it. I came back with a picture of the bank statement and NOTHING. They acted like they didn't say that. Very frustrating!! I'm in town and after a massage decide to get my nails and feet done. The nail tech who worked on my feet was AMAZING. I was so excited to get my nails done after my pedi thinking she set the tone. I was wrong. The male tech who did my nails next kept ignoring me when I told him my nails were too narrow. When I stopped him the 4th time he cut off all my nails and proceeded to send me away. I had pre paid. "Are you going to remove the excess acrylic?!?" I asked confused and frustrated. And he begrudgingly went to get me a bowl of acetone. As I sat there, waiting for the acetone to do its stuff, my full intent was to get a refund. Another male tech offered to re do my nails I let him. Granted I'd already been there for almost 2 hours I would've given them 4 stars but there was NO CONSISTENCY WHATSOEVER with my nail cut or size. I have lopsided nails, slanted nails. My hands look awful. They didn't care to even try to make them look presentable. As I was in there I noticed out of all their customers that I was the only one getting acrylic. About 15 people walked in for Gel or pedicures. I looked around the room, ample stock of acrylic nail tips. It slowly hit me that they all knew not to get acrylic nails done here. They were all smart enough to know that this wasn't a good place for acrylic nails. I wish I would've picked up on that sooner. My toes look great, my nails look like I did them. Up side down. When I first walked in the salon, I was immediately turned off. The man kept trying to upsell me on the gel manicure even though I insisted three times that I wanted to get a regular one. The french tips I got were uneven and chipped after just a few hours. The worst part... I decided to get my eyebrows waxed and the lady made them COMPLETELY uneven!! She trimmed one eyebrow, but not the other?! She also didn't even bother to wipe the wax off my face after she was done and just walked away. It was my first time getting my face waxed, so I was completely thrown off and just paid and went on my way... but one eyebrow is half an inch shorter than the other. This is unacceptable. So it's about a twelve minute drive from where we live and we keep trying to try other places out but usually they are too long a wait or closed. So after each failed attempt we always turn to this place. We basically come here every time and they sit me and my mother right down in the massage chairs and even though we may have a bit of a wait for our pedicures or not we get to get massaged by the chairs and they are very friendly here and I like the foot massages they give I have really sore feet so it's nice to have the hot stone and the mint scrub and my nails look lovely every time. And the polish stays on for about a month and there is a variety of colors. I mainly get pedicures so I don't know all about their manicures but I like this place. read more

I have been going here for the past 12 years. From my bridal party, baby shower 1 and 2 and now taking my daughter. It used to be amazing but it's slowly going down hill. Yesterday I was there and before I was even finished with my pedicure the lady was cleaning the foot bowl!!! Cleaner and all! Who does that? Not to mention using her cell phone and leaving me unattended several times. My daughters nails look horrid. Polish all around the edges. We were ready to get out of there. That's not the worst part... I got my eyebrows down which I have before but this time the next I was broke out with bumps everywhere around my brows. That's never happened. I'm very unhappy with my experience. The pedicure was fine, however the clear coat they used turned my nails black. I'm all for people from other nationalities coming to this country to live the American dream, but it's incredibly frustrating when only 1 or two people in the entire salon speak any English. Especially when they cannot speak to you and talk to each other the entire time. It's off putting and rude. I decided to try a new place because it was near where I was shopping. Bad idea. A few things I immediately noticed, I had two people work on removing my gel polish, they used an electric drill to remove the gel (new for me - seems rough), I was told to pull my hands from the LED too soon so when he went to wipe off the residue at the end, he removed the clear coat. He seemed to not see the problem with my nails. I showed another tech who evidently told him. He had to file, repaint and dry again. What made me most upset is I'm so laid back and easy going. I'm patient and understand everyone has different techniques. I rarely (and I mean literally) ever complain so if I do, "I'm really not happy." I hate being that person. Please note: This is MY experience with just ONE TECH so I can't say the salon as a whole is bad. He did attempt to fix my problem so I give him credit for that. If I could give 0 stars I would! I went in today wanting to relax before work so I asked for a pedicure. I was serviced by a lady that was about 55-60 yrs of age, she never talked with me or anything. I told her what I wanted and that was it. As she does the pedicure I notice that she never officially followed the normal steps of my normal pedicures. She hurried through my service and then proceeded to polish my toenails. The polish was so thick she kept adding acetone to the bottle to loosen. After she finished I lifted my leg as I am 8 months pregnant and saw that she never cut the skin around my nails or even cut all the cuticles. She became highly upset and screamed "what did you say" I told her that I was not happy with the work she had just done and that the polish didn't even cover my entire nail. I have really long natural nails so I took my nail under the free edge and pulled so much skin from around and under my nails and showed her that she did not give me a proper service that she pretty much snatched my foot and started taking the polish off and scraping my toenails so hard with the metal instrument. I told her I didn't want her to do any other work on me to please get someone else that understands what I am asking for and she starts shouting at me. I told her to not speak to me in that manner that I deserved my respect as I was not getting loud or being irate like she was. She starts poking my foot so hard shouting that I better pay and never come back there again. I told her I wanted my service completed correctly and by someone else and she walked away only to come back and continue to use her finger to literally punch my foot while shouting I better pay and I better not ever come back there again. I was still sitting in a pedicure chair with no polish or anything on my feet. I told her she better shut up talking to me and leave me alone that only made her more loud and she starts screaming at me and pointing her finger at me. I couldn't understand anything she was saying at that point so I just told her to please leave me alone. Another woman walked up to me and kept apologizing because I told her that I didn't deserve to be treated that way the woman came back shouting again by then I had called someone to hear the way she was speaking to me. The lady was trying to correct the service and kept apologizing even looking up at this woman and telling her to go away. She tried to explain to me that the woman had been doing the service for 10 plus years and I hurt her feelings by saying she didn't do a good job so I asked for a license to verify that she was a valid nail tech. She kept trying to hush me and apologize so I asked were they even licensed and she basically blew me off. I was upset and I told the lady I felt very disrespected and embarrassed. I had been there for almost an hour at that point and I was ready to go. I didn't feel comfortable being pregnant and the only American in there with all of them. I told her she didn't have to polish my nails I just wanted to leave. She took my money and I left with no polish and a very unpleasant experience. This is my second time going there and I will never step foot in that building again. I was beyond shocked that they tried to keep all the names a secret and wouldn't let me verify adequate licenses. I am a licensed cosmetologist and I am well aware of proper protocol so for them not to follow I would never recommend this business to anyone. Very disappointed today. read more

I've been coming to Showhand Nails for almost a year. I like the fact that they are open on Sundays and offer a great variety of services; from pedicures to eyebrow waxing. My favorite service is the gel nails. They have tons of colors and the nail always stays shiny and bright. Cam is exceptional at doing nails. He shapes them so my short fingers look slim and long. I had a horrible experience with nail place. I love customer service and this place didnt deliver that. The nail tech that sits in the front was very debative on me getting a full set vs a full in. To be honest, I didn't need a full set, but he stated, my nails would break if I didn't. I've been getting my nails done since I was a teenager and I know that's not true. I should've walked away, but I stayed since I needed by nails done. BAD choice, my gel came off my nails in a week. I had to go to another nail shop to fix the mess the nail tech did here. Filed down my nails so thin they are brittle and crack, nails catch on everything because they keep breaking, skin around nails have burns from rough filing. Nails are painful to touch! Rushed through the whole mani and pedi even though there wasn't anyone waiting. Stopped her part way through mani because she clipped too much skin off and made me bleed. Didn't want her to finish mani pedi service because she made the whole process painful. They also tried to over charge me for services not rendered. Heed the other reviews because they are true. I went a couple months ago for a mani/pedi and it was great. I was looking forward to another great gel manicure but this time was disappointing. The lady who did my mani seemed to be in a hurry even though no one was waiting. She rushed the whole process and didn't do much prep work. She did not do anything to my cuticles! She didn't even push them back! In the past I remember getting a small hand/arm massage but this lady did not even put lotion on my hands! Here's why I like this place: It was clean There was a TV on, but the sound was muted, so it wasn't noisy The staff was friendly, but not so chatty as to be obtrusive (staff was conversing freely with other patrons, but didn't try to force me to talk) Staff did not try to upsell me Although there were several patrons , the shop is spacious enough that I didn't feel crowded I was done in a reasonable amount of time I'll come back to this place next time I'm in town and need a pedi. Show Hand Nails is clean with lots of pedi stations. The staff are friendly. One or two speak English and the rest do not. However this hasn't been a problem any of the dozen or so times I've gone there. I only have two gripes. First, if you're getting a mani and pedi and they begin the pedi first, another nail tech will come along and work on removing your old polish while you're sitting in the massage chair getting a pedi. It totally ruins the relaxing pedi experience. Second, they've changed the way they remove gels. Originally the did it like everywhere else, roughing up the polish with an emory board. Now they use the drill file used on acrylics. It's certainly faster, but it scrapes up the top of my nails in the process. If I want to go without polish they look like crap for 6 weeks or so until they grow out. read more

I've recently went here it was on a Sunday at 2pm it was kinda busy . But all I was getting done was a brow wax done and after sitting there for 40 minutes still no brow wax .After I noticed they were taking everyone eles that came in after me, I asked if they was going to do my brows ,this guy said to me ,"well you are going to have to wait "because I have to get these people done first. I just couldnt believe it when he said that to me .It made me fill really horrible for such a business to treat someone like they aren't important enough just because they weren't getting there nails done. I got a severe bacterial infection from the tools used at this salon. The lady ripped a piece of "ingrown toenail" (half the size of my pinky fingernail) out of the side of my toe. I visibly cringed in pain and she kept digging in my toe until I had to tell her to stop. It became severely painful, red, hot and sore immediately after I got out of the pedicure chair and started walking on it. Doctor at urgent care confirmed there was no signs of ingrown toenail and I have a bacterial infection that could be very dangerous without an antibiotic. Toe is still very painful 5 days later from her improperly ripping the nail out with dirty tools. Not to mention, she finished my pedicure, gel polish and all, in 15 minutes after I had waited over an hour. My gel manicure is 5 days old and already chipped. Paint all over my skin and overlapping onto my cuticles. read more
