My parents took me to check out a new to me brewery. This location is in a neighborhood and if I lived nearby, I could totally see myself stumbling back and forth! They have a super nice patio and the interior is huge. There's a more traditional bar area and also a dining room. You order beer and food at the counter and then they bring out the food to you. The staff were all friendly and super helpful. They have a variety of beer and whiskey. You can get flights or full pours. I tried a bit of everything but I really enjoyed the nitro stout. We started with a toasted ravioli appetizer and they were good. They were crispy and crunchy and paired perfectly with the marinara. I'm a KC girl though and I'm trying to join the STL T-Rav fan base but I'm not fully on board yet. I also tried the shrimp Po'Boy and that was absolutely delicious. It was served with lettuce, tomato, pickle and harissa sauce on a hoagie bun. The shrimp were plentiful and not overcooked. Nice and light and crispy. The bun was soft but sturdy and held up to the condiments. I'd definitely order this again. It came with fries and they were good but average. We live close but first time here. It's like a fully self serve joint although they do bring your food out to you. Everything else, you have to go to the bar to get. Good selection of beer. First time going to Shortleaf in Winghaven, and I could tell it was definitely a local spot in a subdivision area. Spacious outside and inside seating with a view of the beer brewing room. I would definitely recommend looking at the menu ahead of time because it was a bit awkward ordering at the bar. Ordered a gyro flatbread with gluten free crust and paid. guy came over a few minutes later to say they don't actually have gf crusts. i asked to swap for burger with gf bun- they did have gf buns. It was an "ok" burger - not much flavor. Fries didn't have any flavor either but were crispy and hot. The menu is hard to read at the counter and i didn't see any beverages i could drink- can't drink beer and no hard cider on tap. They have some seltzers, if you like those. i don't. Living close to this brewery we frequent here quite a bit and never been disappointed. Happy hour specials are fantastic, most the kitchen is scratch made. Get the Aleppo pepper cauliflower! Petrichor is the old name. They have since changed their name to short leaf. There was some legalities to it. I was recommended to this place from a friend and it did not disappoint! If the weather had been better, I would have loved to eat outside. They had a nice patio. We got the giant pretzels and cheese to share. I got the chicken tenders and fries and my husband got a burger. All three were phenomenal! The chicken was definitely hand breaded. And the chicken was especially recommended to me. Man, I wish I lived a lot closer to this brewery, because I would be here every week if I could! The spot was one we discovered as part of burger week, and it did not disappoint! The location was in a really cute little small village area, complete with indoor and outdoor seating, and a wide variety of beers to pick from. We also decided to sample the burgers and fries too. Everything was so good, we didn't have any leftovers after the meal! The staff were extremely friendly, and we sat outside with our pets and kids to enjoy the sun. Everyone was pleased with their selection and the food was good quality and very delicious. I know it is a bit of a drive if you happen to live in the downtown area, but trust me, it is certainly worth it. My in laws live in the Lake St Louis area, so I've been visiting for a few years now and somehow are just finding all these local breweries. The space was perfect - we snagged a patio seat and loved it; lots of dogs and some kids so it's great to see it was a family friendly business. We weren't really inside much except to grab drinks at the bar The beer was amazing -- my husband and I each did a flight, which are customizable with 4-6 beers. They also had some hard seltzer with fruit added on tap! I went for the lighter and fruited options, and I loved the garnishes (tajin on the mango beer, lime on the cherry lime seltzer). My husband opted for some of the darker beers and lagers. His dad got a Berlinner with lime added. His mom isn't a beer person, but she did sip a local cider from brick river! We kept food light and shared a couple pretzels. Get them and get extra beer cheese (if that's allowed) because it was amazing! The two beers I picked out weren't my favorite, but no major points off for that- that's part of trying new things. I came in to try the $6 cheeseburger during STL burger week. I have not been to this place before and it looked nice and clean. I walked in around 5 something and sat at the bar. I ordered this burger that is regularly priced at $12 with fries. I would consider this a basic cheeseburger with the standard dressing. I did have to ask server for ketchup and mustard. The burger did come with LTOP on it and it was seasoned nicely. This place does allow kids and they have more on their digital menu than on their website. There is no drink menu and I felt pressured to order a drink but I didn't want one so I requested a water instead. Found this small local brewpub in O'Fallon. This is located in a small shopping area in a developed community. Very local! The reason to come is for the beer. The menu advertises 24 varieties but a couple were crossed out. Still plenty to choose from. I am personally not a beer drinker but those in the group that were said that what they had was very good. I took advantage of the bar which had what I wanted. The menu was a little lagging. Two pages for the beer, one for appetizers and one for sandwiches/salads/burgers. Had the toasted raviolis as a starter. They were good and since others in the party were not from the area it was a satisfying first try of them. I did the wings for dinner. Sweet chili sauce was good and the wings were meaty. However another person went with Buffalo sauce and got the smaller wings. They were good. The sauce is zesty and reminds me of an homemade (better) version of BK zesty sauce without the ugly aftertaste. Fresh and satisfying! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We also had the SOUTHWEST CHICKEN QUESADILLA had the right amount of kick for us. We like our food on the spicy so if you're not into that at all, just be sure to tell them. The sauce was great. A lot of smoky flavor and wasn't overly "wet" like a lot of hybrid dishes. It was carefully prepared and was a delicious, filling value. RECOMMEND! I had the house lager "Americale." It's a completely inoffensive ale that would make anyone happy to be given a glass.
