Cute and pretty nice little joint in Travelers Rest. The atmosphere is kid of cool and the food is pretty good. My wife had the pizza which was pretty good and kids had the hotdog and Mac and Cheese. Hot dog was pretty big and my son loved it. The Mac and Cheese however did not live up to the southern charm of downtown TR. It wasn't bad but in a place like this I would have expected better. I had the Southern Cordon Bleu. The flavor was good but could have been better. I was disappointed that the menu said it included country ham, but appeared to have standard deli sliced ham in it. I think the saltiness of the country ham would have made this a fantastic dish. Everything else was very good and we enjoyed ourselves. I give this one 3.5 stars, with changes to the above this could easily be a 5 star establishment though. We will return again next time we are in the area. read more

I went to shortfields to catch up with an old friend. Nice atmosphere and good food. I recommend the burgers and wings. Both were delicious. We sat in the dining area but outside there was an awesome area of outdoor sofas and chairs. I will definitely go back to chill out there with a nice glass of wine and good conversation. read more

We went here last Thursday after multiple people recommended it. We sat outside during lunch, there weren't many people in the building or outside. It seemed like we waited a very long time for our drinks and our food. Once we got everything it was very good, just extremely slow service. I ordered a burger and my boyfriend got wings and a sandwich. Do NOT get the boneless wings. They are smaller than chicken nuggets at Chick-fil-A and honestly turkey were all breading. The flavor was awesome something like mango habanero and jalapeño mango. The sandwich/ burger was awesome. It is a little pricy. I actually left my debit card and even after calling no once saw it anywhere. Kinda odd being that it was the only place we had been all day. We used Yelp to find a place close to our hotel and the reviews pulled me in, so thanks to all you Yelp reviewers. We sat in the bar area which was quite busy. The food was excellent. The bartender was overwhelmed and took a long time to take our initial orders. Great selection of Craft Beers and the food was excellent. We each ordered the French Onion soup which was good (hard to screw that up). I then ordered the White Wings -WHITE WINGS (4) Jalapeño Pepper Slice with Pepper Jack Cheese, Wrapped in Chicken, Wrapped in Applewood Smoked Bacon, Served with Ranch Dressing, Carrots & Celery Sticks $8.00 (Please allow 15 minutes to cook) - I highly recommend. The best description i can think of for this place is a mini Sports Bar. Nice patio area with some large TVs to watch a game. Food is a mixed bag, but mostly good. I always get the sweet potato chips as a side and ask for some cajun aioli sauce to dip them in. The Southern Cordon Blue is probably my favorite entree. My wife likes their European salad with a crab cake. Was not impressed with the steak sandwiches though. read more

This was one of the best restaurants we've been to recently. There was five in our dinner party. We each had a different entree. They all were delicious. We enjoyed the atmosphere on their patio. We went to shortfield's at 7:00 on a Sunday because we wanted to eat some where good outside of Greenvile. It was not very busy so we're were seated fairly quickly. I went to use the restroom and when I came back no one had come to the table yet. Several members of the staff had passed our table so they could see our menus still open without drinks on the table. After 20 minutes we decided to leave, as we were walking out the door a staff member said "thanks for coming." It seems to me there is poor management, poor training, or people that don't care about their customers. We will not be returning to shortfield's, I hope they work on their customer service. read more

We went there for Sunday lunch. It was busy, but we got seats at the bar. Sweetie got the Baja burger, which he reports was "fine." He liked the crispness of the fries. I had the Mountain Rainbow Trout, which was a bit too salty but otherwise good. The roasted potatoes and veggies were great (tho also could do with less salt). This place has gone downhill. We were the first ones there on a weekday for lunch. They forgot to unlock the door. The service was really bad. Our waitress let our food get cold while we waited forever for it, but she still delivered it even though she could clearly see the cheese on my onion soup had hardened. Then it took just as long for her to bring a hot bowl. My husband specifically asked for his wings to be extra crispy, but that request was ignored. She forgot his fries and we waited again for them. It was "wing" day which offers a discount on the wings, and of course she forgot that too, so we waited again for the corrected check. The food itself was not good. The clientele was 98% seniors. We liked the beer. Avoid this place. read more

New favorite!!! This place has a great menu with such a variety! Usually when you see a menu with such quality it can be overwhelming with too many choices, but not here! I had the chicken and waffles (first time trying it) with a side of collards, and my boyfriend ordered the wedge salad with salmon and blue cheese. The dressing on the salad was to die for! I've tried to eat here twice this week, and they want to sit me at the bar, and to be honest it's just me, here in Travelers Rest on business, so I understand their reasoning. I don't want to sit at the bar, so with my 1st visit they were extremely busy, so I understood totally, and the hostess was very nice. However, my 2nd visit there were plenty of tables inside and out empty, so I am disappointed, and the hostess this time wasn't rude but just okay whatever. My husband and I decided to try this place out for Sunday lunch on our way home to Greenville from our weekend anniversary getaway in Asheville. We had heard several good things about the place. We were seated quite quickly. I was using the restroom when the waitress came to take our order and she said she would come back when I returned. We waited 20 minutes before she came back. The place wasn't busy and we were outside. When she finally took our order, we waited another 20 minutes for our food. My husband got the French Dip with fries, I got the bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg and fries. We both enjoyed our meals. The burger was huge and I fell in love with the fries. They were thick and seasoned just right. Back to the waitress, we kept running out of our drinks. This is a big no-no in my opinion. I would sip from my husbands tea when I ran out of water. The place still wasn't too busy when we were leaving, I guess the waitress just forgot to see if we needed any refills. I would try this place again, but maybe ask to sit on the inside to see if the service is more punctual. read more

Hands down the best restaurant in Travelers Rest! They have something for everyone! They have a nice bar area filled with TVs and great drinks. The dining room is clean with an ample amount of booths and tables, but the best area is the outside patio with its couches, TVs and umbrella-covered tables. Perfect for a sunny day! From the minute you walk in, the hostesses make you feel comfortable and the servers are friendly and caring. The food came out quickly and was so delicious! My brother and I took our mother here for Mother's Day and had a horrible experience. We waited almost an hour and a half and never got our food. During that time our server hit us with "just a few more minutes" or "15 more minutes" a handful of times, usually accompanied with an excuse. A little over an hour after being sat, I asked some one who looked like a manager at the host stand to check on our food and told them what we had been going through. They came back back with "15 more minutes" and an apology. We then left, like I said we would. Was really bothered that they didn't even attempt to try and make it right after all of that even as we were leaving. I still have a bad taste in my mouth about the whole ordeal and don't plan on going back. read more

This place was such a disappointment. We were in town visiting family and we all came here to eat. The service was horrendous. In total it took 2 hours to get our food that WE HAD TO ACTUALLY SERVE OURSELVES. Someone brought it out on the tray and layed it down on the patio and after 10 minutes we figured out it was ours so my husband served all of us. While waiting for an eternity after we ate for the bill my daughters leg got cut open by the gate on the patio. When I told someone they offered to give me hand sanitizer or alcohol to clean it up... to which I said Um that would hurt no thanks. The lady then walked over to the table where my kid was already crying took a look at her leg and said "oh gosh honey you're gonna need to go to the ER that looks bad. That's why we don't play by the gate" excuse me, you don't say that to a kid ever and then get after her for YOUR gate slicing her leg open. There was no manager and only 3 servers and a old lady hostess who needs to learn to keep her mouth shut. Our waitress didn't know how to print or run the check and that in itself took 25 minutes and my brother in law trying to figure it out on his own. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant in my life. Do yourself a favor and bypass this one, oh and stay away from the gate that cuts legs open. The food was cold, and not even correct when we got it. And the service was so unprofessional and tacky I have no clue how they are still in business. Everyone around us was having similar problems too so sadly I think they lost a lot of customers today! read more

Love this restaurant. Frequent here quite often. Sometimes up to three times a week. My favorites are: fruit nachos, boneless wings, and Prime Rib night!!!! They are the friendliest people her in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. I have set up a Girls Night Out with our community women to go for a once a month outing. I have eaten here several times and it was good but today was a totally different experience. Our waitress was inattentive and the food wasn't as good as usual. When we got our bill (after waiting 10 minutes for it) I noticed that I had been charged for a milk separate from the kids meal I had ordered for my son. When I asked our server she said that milk wasn't included on the kids meal because it was "expensive". I asked for a menu and showed her that no where on the kids menu did it say milk wasn't covered and I asked to talk to the manager about it. She went and checked and said the manager was too busy to come talk to me. Offered to refund the money but I still can't believe that the manager was too busy to take care of a guest. This place may have lost my business after today read more
