Discovered this place fairly accidentally after stopping into Night Shift Brewery, which is just literally around the block. I tend to gravitate toward beer over cocktails, but Short Path won me over with its two fresh products -- a gin and a white rum. Stop into the distillery and you can sample both and/or get a very tasty cocktail while learning all about the products from the knowledgable founders. A fascinating and fun surprise. (Bonus points for a really cool space and free bar snacks in the form of Goldfish) read more

We got a Groupon to go on the tour of the distillery. We learned a lot, and got to have tiny tastes of several of the liquors with the Groupon. The drinks at the bar were great, and the games were lots of fun. The were experimenting with a creme de menthe while we were there and the cocktail they mixed with it was totally delicious. The autumn gin made a totally delicious bee's knees in the bee's knees flight. It's a fun way to spend the afternoon. read more

This place is literally amazing. The owners who also run the joint are so nice and fun the hang out with. Bonus: one of owners has the cutest dog ever that sometimes is at the bar. Their gin is delicious and I'm not really a gin drinker. I think by now I've tried all of their cocktails and everyone is more delicious then the last. Very knowledgeable staff and very friendly. I went here on Halloween and they were having a Halloween party that night. If only I had known. We got there and did a couple of samples of their liquors, we followed that up by ordering a couple of drinks from their menu. The gin is VERY smooth. We ended up bringing a bottle home. I know they were looking to expand their product line a little through Christmas and I look forward to my next visit which will be soon. read more

Wandered over here from Nightshift. We saw a little sign for gin and rum so we had to follow it. Well let me say I'm so glad we did because what a hidden gem! We tried samples of each (free!) and then ordered two cocktails. These guys know there stuff and even though they only offer two spirits they are done extremely well. I recommended the mojito or the strawberry gin drink! Can't wait to see these guys take off! read more

Ah, Short Path! I love how cozy and intimate this place is. You can do a tour of the distillery or hang out in the tasting room/bar for some delicious cocktails as they serve their own liquor. The cocktails are freshly made with high quality ingredients and the menu is always rotating. The owners are extremely friendly and make us feel like we're at home every time we stop by! We always bring our friends to this spot as it's our favorite gin. They offer goldfish if you need a little snack (who doesn't love goldfish?!) and the distillery dog, Weber, is such a sweetheart!! :) read more

Great local distillery! Their gin is quite good and they have a bunch of cocktails ready to be whipped up for $8. Zack, the master distiller, really has a passion for making booze. Make sure to ask for a tour and hear about the converted rubber factory. I'm looking forward to SPD's future spirits which are in the works. This place is fantastic! Such a comfortable environment. Staff is super friendly. Albums spinning, football on the tv, customers dropping in to pick up their CSA's (community supported alcohol), sweet doggie hanging out...perfect stop on a rainy Sunday afternoon. We did the tasting not the tour but will definitely be going back for the tour. My favorite was the gin...it's loaded with organic botanicals and you could taste each one distinctly from the rest...yummy! read more

Honestly wanted to really like this place, but was left with disappointment. Hoping that short path was just having an off day. We were a party of three and two of us had arrived, we were told by the host that we could not sit until the final member of our party was there. There were empty tables and no line, we ended up having to wait around 30 minutes for our third person to arrive due to Boston traffic. When we were finally seated, the server informed us we only had 45 minutes left on our reservation time. This is where I have the issue, if short path was holding our table for the duration of our reservation, why were 2 out of 3 people not allowed to sit down and have a drink while waiting, especially if there were plenty of empty tables. These empty tables remained empty throughout the remainder of our time there as well. The next issue I had was the service, it was extremely slow. We ordered within 5 minutes of sitting down, and did not receive our drinks for 25 minutes, even though we're only 6 tables of patrons. We felt extremely rushed because of this. The server then came over once the drinks were dropped and said that we had about 20 minutes left on our reservation. Lastly, the server got the drink order wrong, our third person only order a single drink and was brought a half pitcher. So we meant to drink 2 half pitchers within 20 minutes, there was no way to enjoy them or our time here. read more

My partner and I came here for an impromptu date night a couple of weeks ago-- it was a Friday night around 8:30, and there weren't too many people either at the bar or in the patio area outside. The bartender gave us the rundown on all the different offerings-- regular gin, seasonal gin, a few different rums, myrtle liqueur, triple sec, and ouzo-- and let us taste everything. Then we ordered cocktails-- and since I'm a big gin fan, choosing was tough. I went with a drink I shamefacedly can't remember the name of, but the bartender had created it herself, and it was amazing, made with a lemony gin and cucumber. B had the Bees Knees, and we took our drinks to a cozy loveseat out on the patio. After a little while we grabbed one of the games from the bookshelf and ordered round 2-- this time I got the Bees Knees, which is a favorite of mine normally, and the lavender-forward gin was a perfect little twist on it. B got the Black Bowtie, made with their ouzo and cherries, and loved it so much she got it again when we went back with friends this weekend. Short Path is just as much fun on a Sunday afternoon with a bunch of friends as it is for a date night, and it appears to be a relative unknown-- or maybe just overshadowed by Night Shift Brewery next door? Either way, get yourself there and see what they have to offer; even if you're not normally a gin or rum drinker, you'll probably find something you like. read more

Visited Short Path last night with a couple of girlfriends and had a blast! Had a drink at the bar to start and the bartender, Tim, was awesome. Let us try gin with a taste of their tonic. We tried the Lime Rickey, the Ancient Storm (their version of a dark and stormy) and the Mojito and all were great. We had a Groupon for the tour and tasting and a souvenir pint glass. Christine was our tour guide; she was great, really fun and knowledgeable. Cool distillery, cool location. Mostly rum and gin available. People that were there had ordered a pizza and had it delivered which was cool. The bartenders are friendly and the juices and herbs are fresh (which you would expect for a $10 cocktail) . All in all, a cool place to grab a cocktail or two. My goodness, those cocktails are tasty! A quick stop turned into a lovely afternoon/ early evening affair with friends and family. I tried (I couldn't resist!) several drinks including The Martinez, Good Tidings, and The Voyager - not only are the rum and gin top notch but the cocktail options present a varied and exciting take on the area's seasonal flavors. We went a tour, played a few rounds of Cards Against Humanity, and gave some love to the friendly resident dog, a slightly overweight and incredibly charming Portuguese Water Dog named Weber. How does this place have 12 five star reviews? How? The staff is friendly, yes. But the product is TERRIBLE. I've drank better tasting nail polish remover. This is a company that takes grain alcohol and repackages it as gin after it rests for a few hours in a still. No thank you. read more
