I would never have expected that, but he went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. He had included pictures on his Yelp site of my kitchen that looked absolutely beautiful right after completion. That being said, I've put off posting a review because in less than a year of his work, my laminate floors started to crack and break and I've been waiting to see how Johnny would handle this. At the time of installation, my husband asked Johnny if the floors needed to be leveled or prepared in any way and he was told that the laminate was designed to go straight on the cement and was reminded that this was an exceptional product that Johnny was working with. Less than a year after we had the work done we had pieces that were pulling apart and buckling. The floor sounded like Rice Krispies when you walked on it - snap, crackle, pop! The color had since been discontinued so Johnny sent his crew in to do patchwork repairs that literally created more problems than it helped. We reached out to Johnny and his solution was to find the last remnants of the flooring available and drop it off in our garage, while speaking on the phone the entire time and not addressing us. The flooring has remained in our garage untouched for years now and we've been constantly reaching out to Johnny for a solution to our mess of a floor. We have packing tape holding down a large part of the patchwork job that has all come up and now rips our socks and feet, as well as blue tape on every piece of flooring that is an issue. Because the cement was not smooth underneath, most of the boards have cracked and warped which is very noticeable when you hold a straight edge along it. A couple of months ago, Johnny sent his flooring guy to come and take a look and he immediately told us the floors were a mess and we needed new floors. When he returned to Johnny to update him on our situation, Johnny's wife messaged us to say she heard we "wanted to get new floors". This has nothing to do with wanting - this has everything to do with poor quality materials and poor installation. Johnny would like to resolve this by having a new batch of this color made and doing a larger patchwork repair job. My floor is absolutely embarrassing and has been for most of the 6 years I've lived in my house. We have yet to get a lawyer involved but I will tell you I would never recommend this company to anyone. Johnny is a slick salesman and is happy to take your money but the customer service is terrible. He's been over to the house multiple times making promises of repairs that he's never followed through with. If you are renovating a house for yourself and want it to last a long time, this is not your contractor. If you are doing a flip to sell and don't care what happens 6 months down the road, he's your guy.

Bob was involved from early design, material selection (helping "value engineer"), through the approval process and all phases on construction. Bob did a great job of managing the bid process to all the sub-contractors, and holding them accountable. He has great relationships and respect with the architect, sub-contractors, the city of San Clemente (this is a HUGE asset) and most of the surfers in the area. The day construction began, Bob had each subcontractor roll in, pick up plans, review the work, and set a deadline to receive bids and at that moment I knew we had entrusted our dream to the right person. Bob was always patient and consultive as we made decisions, but still drove the project to minimize "down time" from one phase of construction to another. He takes great pride in his work. Several times, I "caught" Bob on the job site on evenings and weekends, just making sure everything was secure. We got the house of our dreams, and we also gained a new friend. The first invite we sent for our first party was to Bob.
