There are a lot of things on the menu that are no longer available. The burgers are really good. The fries are also really good but have small portions. I ordered two orders of fries and it looked more like it was one order. Looking at other reviews, it seems like it was two orders and they are just small. My order of 4 burgers and 2 fries took about 10 minutes. I was asked to pull around the corner and wait. They brought my food out to me. It was worth the wait! It is a little sad looking but that has no bearing on the food or service. The food was good and the service was efficient. You just drive through at the window and don't go in. This place used to be decent, but has seriously gone down hill. We ordered a couple of cheeseburger combos, and the rootbeers were so watered down thay they were not drinkable. One of the orders of fries there were about 10 fries in the bag. I did call and explain everything, and it fell on deaf ears. When you provide this kind of service, you lose customers. This was a very unique experience for me and my wife. You pull up drive through only and order. It looks like the menu was placed there 40 years ago and they just changed the prices and covered some items to discontinue them. Always wanted to try Shore Shack but never seemed to be open when we were around. Bless their hearts, the lady who runs this business was randomly open on Christmas Day! We rolled in fresh off hanging out on the beach and raided this business famished for burgers, fries, fish and the whole works. Great food! The chili fries were one of the best things I had this vacation. And the burgers were legit, big, tasty and amazing. Exactly what we wanted! We ordered a couple bags worth of stuff and I was pretty surprised how economical it was. Good place to take the family and get everyone fed and watered for a decent price. Asian owned business Things to keep in mind - Older Asians, not raised here (Boomer age), typically aren't very American friendly. Ocean Shores is a sleepy town, which means slow service and lack of options.. Which also translates to take it as it is or go without. Other than McDonalds.. Lighthouse and as far as drive through deep fried foods and burgers.. you don't have many options. No drive thru is actually fast, by the way. Especially during tourist season. Food - Greasy drive thru food. The flavor of the beef and quality of condiments are good. It's better than the quarter pounder at McDonald's. However, you will have friendlier service and quicker delivery. Expect to wait in this line because it's made to order. Eat the burger right away. Otherwise, your bun will be engulfed by grease within minutes! People - She wants your money and has to make your food. She doesn't get paid to be nice or even smile at you.. so she doesn't. She will get your order, rake your money, and send you home full of Asian and American food. Price - most restaurants in this town are inflated because of location and seasonal tourism. Yep, it can easily be the cost of steak and potatoes elsewhere for 2 burgers, fries, and no drink. Summary - Would I go back? Not much in the way of ambiance since covid, I believe they're only a "take-away" restaurant at this point, but we LOVE the food. Went with some friends to try this little place and the food wasn't that impressive. We ordered fish & chips along with a burger and fries. The burger was pretty tasty, juicy and flavorful but the fish & chips were the opposite. Fish did not taste fresh, tasted like they bought pre-battered frozen fish filets and just threw them in the deep fryer. Their menu is just a combination of so many different types of food, that it's confusing. There's a cute elderly couple running the place and they just looked so tired from running around preparing and cooking the food, processing payment, so be prepared for a little bit of a wait and be patient. Seems like a little mom and pop place, we were the only people in line and it still took about 30 minutes, the lobby was closed. The lady was inside alone but she was pretty rude and refused to put our bacon on the side for our cheeseburger? The burgers were pink. Their food is amazing! My husband and I usually bring our own food but the last couple of times we tried out the Shore Shack. They have food for the kiddos. They offer COVID protocol standards. We had to wait in our cars for our food. But definitely well worth the 25 minute wait. I noticed that the lady is the only one in there. This didn't change her attitude. This is located in a small mall plaza. Enter inside or outside. There's even a drive-thru BUT I imagine it's not as efficient/reliable as fast-food and coffee stands; you may need to phone-in/coordinate to use it. It's pretty town-ish standard with some booths, some tables and a bar stool counter (which appears to mainly be used for orders). Also right by the beach entrance and pigeon-poop roof-infested Shilo complex. I stopped by for a quick snack and got the $3+ side of sweet potato fries. Reliable goodness. Some may think this price is a smidge inflated but I can sort of understand why. I'm totally trying more the distant next time I'm in the area visiting the beach. It's just the couple running this ship and they work really hard. It was busy and they were behind on bussing tables. Perhaps there's also an unenforced, or no sign, direction for customer bussing. Avoid the "seafood" section if you don't like grocery store frozen food qualify while at the ocean. We ordered the halibut/chips and chowder and clam strips. Tried to get a side salad listed the menu and the employee sounded like she didn't know what we were saying. Any way the fries were good - very crispy and hot. Clam strips decent and halibut horrible - almost fish stick style for $15; chowder was flavorless. We were walking back to our hotel from the beach and thought we'd grab a quick bite to eat at the Shore Shack. The menu consists of burgers, sandwiches, and some teriyaki items. Prices were about $10+ for everything, which seemed a little high for a fast food restaurant. We ordered the chicken teriyaki to try something different. The portion was large! Enough for my wife and I to share. The chicken was fresh and had good grilled flavor. And the teriyaki sauce was tasty as well. The salad that came with it was wilted so we just scraped that off to the side. The restaurant is connected to the crafters mall, which is convenient if you work up an appetite while shopping. The inside of the restaurant is kind of old, which wouldn't normally bother me but the booth cushion I was sitting on was loose and not very stable. We might come back to try a burger, they looked pretty good. read more

Made me nervous as there was no one else in the restaurant at 1 pm. I had their mushroom burger and it was very good. The waitress (owner) didn't say two words, including the words Thank You. She did not wait on the table you have to go to her. The table was sticky from grease, this place needs a good cleaning still. Upholstery on the table seating was very dirty. Won't go back due to the unsanitary conditions. Sanitation is always first. Can't believe Grays Harbor Health Department allows this. Both owners were just watching movies on their laptops. Overall, this seemed like a pretty decent place if you can overlook a few things: 1) The wait times can often be quite long during busy times. 2) The restaurant is a bit dirty and in ill repair. 3) The cashier can be a touch surely. That said, this is what they have going for them: 1) They have a fairly diverse menu, blending Asian and American fare. 2) The prices are comparatively cheap. 3) Most of the food has good flavor, appearance and quantity. I tried: 1) Bulgogi Sandwich - I would recommend this one 2) Philly Sandwich - Not bad, but I wouldn't order it 3) Burger (don't remember which one) - overall, nice flavor 4) Cheese fries - I actually didn't care for these much. They were soggy, greasy and lacked much flavor. It was just homecut potatoes covered in a bunch of cheese. It wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't great and I would avoid it. Overall, when I return to Ocean Shores, I would consider coming here again, but I would not necessarily seek it out. read more

We overall weren't very thrilled about the shore shack. The food was decent, but when we had asked for no onions there were still onions. Also the burgers seemed to be a bit messy and just slopped together. The chowder was alright and we seemed to enjoy the chicken strips. Food safety risk-- DO NOT EAT HERE!!! The restaurant was very dirty inside. We decided to overlook that and give it a shot. We ordered three burgers and they were actually pretty tasty. Then it got scary---- We watched the couple seated at the bar next to us leave the restaurant. They left half- full cups with ice and soda in them. The lady, who appeared to be the owner, dumped out the cups in the sink, poured some tap water in the cup, swirled it around, and PUT THE CUP BACK ON THE SHELF WITH THE REST OF THE "CLEAN" CUPS!!! We should have read the reviews before entering- seems others have seen this type of behavior. We escaped without being hospitalized, but won't be taking our chances again at this place. read more

I thought we were being "Punked"! While on a weekend girls trip doing some shopping in town, we were hungry and saw this little Burger grill in the "mall". It had a sign boasting its fries, onion rings and fried chicken. I ordered the "hand cut fries", one friend ordered the 2 pc chicken basket w/ coleslaw and a biscuit, the other ordered 1 pc chicken w/ sweet potato fries and the other ordered the hot wing basket with onion rings. Okay: here's where everything went wrong... First I was served some old fries (one potato's worth) that had been reheated in the deep fryer..$3.95 5 minutes later one friend received her onion rings, 5 more minutes later another friend received her cole slaw..a couple more minutes and the 3rd friend got her sweet potato fries. Then friend 1 went to ask about the wings "3 more minutes". ...so now that her onion rings are gone the wings came out.... Then friend 2 received her 2 pc... one piece was still bloody. They took it back and put it back in the deep fryer "after it had been at our table and examined by all 4 of us! I'm thinking that should be some kind of health code violation. Then...when they brought it back she still hadn't received the biscuit. The cook seemed confused..we pointed at the butter and honey packets she'd received and the he was like "oh!" Then he brought her a dried up old biscuit. It was the weirdest thing. It's like they'd never worked in a restaurant before. Who serves a chicken basket in 4 frickin' courses? They didn't even apologize...i don't think that they think they did anything wrong. And it was way over priced! Oh and the tables were dirty and two of our 4 chairs were broken. Pulled up at dinner to an empty parking lot on Saturday of Memorial Weekend. That was a good sign of what was to come. Walked in to a younger guy working the front counter. He didn't say anything until we ordered. After taking our order we sat down in a booth 5 feet from the front counter. He poured our drinks, sat them on the front counter, pushed them forward and said here you go. Great service that he couldn't walk the 5 feet to deliver them to our table. Didn't ask us if we wanted straws or anything, just went back and sat down to his laptop. The cups are 8 ounces and for a soda refill it's $1. The burgers were good and the prices average for a burger. Due to the poor service this is not a place I would recommend and not a place I'll revisit. read more

Not sure why this place has bad reviews! We came here after a photoshoot on the beach and this place was very empty. I ordered the jalapeño burger while my friends ordered fish sticks and a Philly steak. No complaints anywhere! My burger was obviously cooked to order and tasted great! It didn't wow me but it hit the spot and filled me up. The fish was thick with batter which usually isn't a good sign for me but I tasted them they were not bad! The fries were my favorite part of the meal. Looks like they use some batter on the fries too and they tasted amazing! My only complaint would be the seats, they were a little uncomfortable but that won't deter me from returning when I'm in the area again!
