One of the daily pasta specials.
Ali G.

Shore is consistently an excellent choice. While its beautiful waterfront setting and inviting ambiance are enough to keep me going back, the quality of the food and service are equally impressive. I highly recommend making a reservation around sunset if possible, because the changing views and lighting create a memorable experience. For a more casual meal, the burger and truffle fries are outstanding and generously portioned. On a recent visit, I ordered one of the pasta specials, and every bite was packed with flavor. My husband often chooses one of the fish entrées, and it's always prepared exceptionally well- there arent ever any leftovers on his plate. Considering the quality of the dining experience, the restaurant is reasonably priced for an upscale restaurant. My only criticism is the limited parking. Overall, Shore is a restaurant I would confidently recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful meal and a beautiful evening out.

This is how we got there

Arrived by boat. Great service and a wonderful menu. I targeted the Grouper, why not when in Florida. Calamari appetizer was gigantic and delicious. Shrimp Ceviche & Guac made a nice presentation and tasted great. All of our entrees were perfectly prepared and delicios. The restaurant has the views and and beautiful deck for outside seating. Nice bar menu with lots of tropical drinks. Good price/value relationship. Fun vibe overall in a beatiful part of the world. Very focused, not to big menu, usually points to consistent quality across almost all of their appetizers and entrees. When I see the small menu it makes me happy because it is going to be good. Excellent price/value relationship.

I wish this restaurant with the same view was where I lived! Phenomenal serene and beautiful atmosphere right on the water with large glass windows so you could sit inside and enjoy the magnificent water view. For people who have boats, you can also arrive by boat. All of the food was delicious and most things were able to be made gluten free and even items that most restaurants can't do gluten free and this is NOT a gluten free restaurant. We started with a ceviche appetizer that came with guacamole and freshly homemade corn tortilla chips which was was so fresh. My husband had the pan seared local snapper entree and I had the Hawaiian big eye tuna mignon which came with shrimp risotto, yellow tomato and bok choy in a lobster buerre blanc. For dessert we shared a piece of key lime pie that was also gluten free and I had the Oaxaca to drink. Service was fabulous as well.

Beautiful location right on the water. Unfortunately, the food and service did not live up to the beauty of the restaurant. It took a while for drinks to arrive and service just felt slow throughout the entire evening. For apps, the calamari was delicious and unique from typical calamari with the addition of the cabbage and Thai flavors. I ordered the beet salad with salmon as my entree- I was quite disappointed with the few number of beets, only one bite of goat cheese, and bland salmon slapped on the side. The lettuce was quite dry, but once I asked for a side of the herb vinaigrette, it was delicious! The pepper crusted salmon entree was very good.

Thought it was going to be nicer than it was. The calamari was tasty but bothered my stomach later. The burger was awful. Barely any beans. I tried to cut it and it was super stretchy, no idea what they used as a binder. Flavor was super overpowered by caramelized onions. Had to get a reservation but yet the place wasn't full. Tons of staff though. Overpriced and not worth it.

Truffle fries

Extremely disappointed. Shore has always been one of our favorite restaurants, which is why we chose it to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Unfortunately, the entire experience--from the service to the food--was unacceptable. We started with the truffle fries, which we usually love, but there was absolutely no truffle flavor. We sent them back, only to have the exact same fries returned--still no truffle. The entrées were even worse. My husband ordered the ribs, which smelled and tasted spoiled. He ended up only eating the salad on the side. I ordered the shrimp pasta special, and the pasta was completely undercooked and hard. I had both my husband and daughter try it to be sure I wasn't crazy, and they both agreed. When I informed the waitress, she removed only the shrimp from the top of the dish and placed it back in front of me. There was no offer to remake the dish or provide a replacement. When I explained that the pasta was undercooked, she dismissively replied, "If you didn't like the way it tasted, you won't like it if we replace it," and repeated the same response when I told her it wasn't the taste but that it wasn't cooked properly . Her attitude was rude, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate from the get go. At that point, my daughter's birthday celebration was ruined, and we chose to leave and have dessert elsewhere. The best thing about the experience was the valet. I don't know what has happened to Shore, but the drop in food quality and service is alarming. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and gets things back on track.

If you're looking for a 5 star all around experience from the perfect intimate waterfront ambiance, attentive service, and mouthwatering food, look no further! The herb and shallot goat cheese served as part of the artisanal bread and spread stood out with its savory flavors and creamy texture. We enjoyed the fresh, bold flavors of the black pepper crusted Faroe Island salmon and the pan seared snapper. I particularly enjoyed the crispy yet creamy arancini rice cake and citrus butter with my snapper. The blood orange margarita was refreshingly delightful and I enjoyed more than one! With the beautiful views and excellent food and drink, I certainly felt I was where I was meant to be...if only I could stay!

Everything about this place is just fantastic. From the food to the setting, it's fantastic. Whenever we're in the area it's a must go on our list.

Great spot! Came here on a bachelorette with a large group and it was perfect! They sat us outside near the water, promptly brought us waters and greeted us. We started with drinks and a bottle of champagne for the bride which was brought in a wine chiller to keep it cold, they made sure none of our drinks never ended up empty. We ordered a ton of different things and everyone had marvelous things to say! The scallops & risotto, Pork chop, salad with steak, grouper, and a few other items. Everything tasted fresh, was brought to our table promptly and made sure we had everything we needed! Will definitely be back when down in siesta key again!

I enjoy this restaurant each and every time I dine here! Love the vibe of this place. There's a beautiful store with gorgeous items like jewelry and beach wear attached. The food is wonderful. Service staff are all impeccably amazing at helping you choose a good selection off of the menu. Cocktails are equally fabulous. Looking out the oversized picture windows is like being outside and right on the water. You shouldn't miss this one, check it out for sure.

Great meal and wonderful views. We loved our experience at Shore. Service was great and we had awesome dishes. Perfect place to celebrate an anniversary or special occasion.

This waterfront restaurant impresses beyond the view -- the food is fresh with an Asian flair. The calamari appetizer with cabbage salad is a must, the deboned Bronzino was fabulous, and the Asian-style St. Louis spare ribs were delicious. Five stars.

TUNA TARTARE
Sydni P.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant on Long Boat Key. Has a stunning view. We went on a fairly chill day (55 degrees) and they had screens that came down on the deck so we were still able to enjoy the gorgeous view and keep warm. We started with the Tuna Tartare, which was spectacular (my personal favorite) because the tuna and avocado were so fresh. The fish tacos were also spectacular - loved the mango pico de gallo. We also tried the Shrimp and Scallops, which was served on delicious lemon risotto. Not pictured but we also got the Shore burger, which was also great! The only downside was our server was not super friendly... which I think can really alter the overall experience. Other than that - it was spectacular! Definitely a must try.

Place has been fully rebuilt after hurricane damage. Highlights are lots of great tables with…read moreviews of sunsets over the Gulf of America and world class service by Chris who was hustling taking care of so many in the heat and doing it with a smile on his face. Nicely done! The views of the water and dolphins are amazing around sunset. Food: Decent in my most recent visit. The fish grouper tacos can be fried, grilled or blackened. The meat was huge, not just scraps like at some places but large pieces that barely fit in the taco shell. The toppings had hot peppers that overpowered the taste. The provided green sauce was also a bit spicy but comes on the side so you can apply just the right amount or none at all. At $30 this was a bit steep for tacos with a scoop of rice. My friend had grilled Red Snapper that was good. At $38 this is near the top range of filet pricing. Alcohol: I tried the "Meet Your Bahama Mama" which was nicely prepared @ $12. My friend ordered a custom drink with DOUBLE shot that was properly made but wasn't entirely finished. It was a bit more subdued vs the Mama. I tried it and couldn't tell there was two shots... $15 for the later. Water: they don't offer tap water, instead charging $2 for bottled water. One star off for this. I was finished with my cocktail early and sat the next hour with nothing to drink. Parking: free across the street in the lot on the north side. However there are numerous trailers blocking parking spots and others are labeled "compact" so when it gets busy you might need to pay at the adjacent lot. On a Tuesday in the offseason there were free spots available. The restaurant also has a large area under a tiki roof that is really beautiful with numerous TVs playing sports. This area has huge ceiling fans keeping things cooler than the tables out near the water. One star off for a super bad fly problem that occurs when your food arrives. We spent an hour waving our hands over our plates. At times there were ten flies trying to land on the food. We asked if they had the fly fans some places have, but none are available. As bad as this is why haven't they invested in some of these battery powered fans that really work well? Amazon sells battery and rechargeable versions for $6 each. Total for 2 entrees, 2 alcoholic drinks & 1 water with 20% tip: $126. Yikes! Justifies my 3 star rating. They also hit you with a 3% credit card charge. Ridiculous for a place already charging high prices. Just screams cheap nickle and diming. The current Yelp score for this restaurant is just over 2 stars. Our experience was better thanks to Chris and the amazing sunset.

But none of those elements even remotely compared to the awesome locals and fabulous bartenders that we quickly became friends with. Scallop appetizer: the scallops were cooked very well, I thought the caramelized onions were not cooked that memorably, they also weren't my favorite pairing with this dish. The sauce was ok, the scallops were the star, the other components were not the best but I enjoyed the appetizer Shrimp and scallops linguine: (blackened) The shrimp and scallops were very tasty and well cooked. The pasta was al dente and sauce was good, maybe could use a bit of salt but the dish overall was very good. Gnocchi and medallions: the gnocchi was surprisingly good, it's hard to get good gnocchi but these were really good. The sauce was delicious!! And the medallions were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. I'm ordering this again when I come back. Sea bass: really good dish composition. The eggplant and zucchini ratatouille paired really good with the pesto and the mashed potatoes, and the star of the show was the fish, cooked really well and seasoned very nicely (got it blackened). Highly recommend. Brussels sprouts were also a really enjoyable side. I will happily come back :)
