The Po Boy flounder sandwich with seasoned fries
Margery Z.

I had a different item tonight off of the Early Bird menu. I had the Early Bird flounder po boy. It was a huge sandwich with a large, nicely fried flounder with red onion, lettuce and tomato on a toasted roll. I asked for the guac on the side. The side dish with this sandwich is a very large serving of seasoned fries. The sandwich and fries were both served very hot and were delicious. As always, there was a bread basket served with butter and the Lazy Lobster famous pepper jelly. There rolls are an excellent "vehicle" for the delicious pepper jelly.

Always enjoy our time at Lazy Lobster. Tonight was delicious- from the Cherry Tomato Horseradish salmon special, to cod and crab, to the Bar Harbour Combo- all so enjoyed and thought each dish was some of the best meals we've had here. Server was kind and attentive. Had good recommendations.

Came back here after we had just been next door at Tyler's Ice Cream shop last weekend. We had been here over ten years ago so here is new review. Dog friendly and lovely tropical outside shaded patio. Their outside is a must. Ask to sit by the water fountain. It's the prettiest spot. Our server Erich was nice and helpful. I ordered a lobster roll for me and I was surprised I had more side options than just fries and chips. I appreciated that there wasn't an upcharge. The au gratin potatoes look small on the plate but seriously it was a good serving and a great flavor. So good and it's a must! My lobster roll was very good and had good size pieces of lobster. I do see they have mayo so if you don't want mayo let them know. My husband enjoyed his chicken parmigiana and was happy with the flavor and the size. These were on the early dining menu which starts at 4-530. It's nice they offer it on the weekend too. This was a great dining experience all around!

The Lazy Lobster is one of those restaurants I say after I've been, why has it been so long? It's mid island and popular with both indoor and outdoor seating. Tonight, it was terribly cold so glad we had reservations with friends for indoors. The setting is warm and the food is good(solid). My spinach salad was good as was my flounder francaise accompanied with green beans and rice. Service was efficient. 3.5 stars

Salmon Renee and Flounder Francese

I know I'm partial because the Lazy Lobster has been our go to spot for 14 years but you cannot consistently get a better meal on LBK than the L.L. The kitchen pumps out great seafood dishes and the menu is extensive enough for even non seafood eaters the service has always been professional and the quiet ambiance offers a nice atmosphere for conversation even at the high top tables in the bar area. My partner had one of her favorites Salmon Renee and I had the excellent flounder Francese both were top notch my little Greek salad as a starter was perfect as well add on TJ's martinis and your set for a perfect evening !!

The atmosphere is beautiful and this places has a lot of potential, but I felt they dropped the ball on me and my family. We were a party of 10 that called ahead. Table was ready for us when we arrived at 6:40 which was amazing and almost unheard of on longboat!! We sat with quick service and had our orders placed by 650/655. The issue is that we did not get our food until 756pm. If you look at the attached photo, our food was input around 702pm! Within this 54minutes we were never apologized to or given any indication our food would be out shortly. About 30 minutes in an employee came over to tell us they were out of filet. The frustrating part here is that we 1. Had been waiting so long already and 2. We watched 3 filets sell to tables that came after we had sat, placed our order, and were waiting. Id love to try this location with a smaller party as it felt like the kitchen wasn't equipped for 10 people. It's disappointing the location did not feel the need to apologize or check on us during the 54 minutes we waited for food. I would like to say that our server did a great job getting food in quickly and making sure we were hydrated, but it seems our ticket was low priority in the kitchen.

We had lunch on the patio with drinks and Lazy Man's lobster that was cooked to perfection!

We had a fantastic dinner there! Didn't look like much from the entrance in a strip mall. But the restaurant was as charming as, and the waitresses were welcoming and gave us a lot of local information. I had the seafood with Diablo sauce and it was excellent. Huge shrimp and scallops. Two others had the crabmeat stuffed fish and one the ribs with shrimp. Everyone loved their meal!

Lobster Thermidor

We went to Lazy Lobster last night for dinner. It's in a small strip mall on the main drag of Longboat Key. The restaurant has a small bar area and indoor dining, but the patio is where it's at. It's secluded and doesn't even feel like it's on the street. We waited in the bar with cocktails for a table on the patio. Just because you make reservations you're not guaranteed a patio table. My husband had a Kentucky Bourbon cocktail and I had the blood orange margarita with salt around the rim. His drink was fantastic, mine was lacking the blood orange flavor as you can see by the color of the drink. Our server was Reina, and she was friendly and engaging and made good suggestions. I was between two entrées and was happy she suggested the lobster dish. We shared the fried clam strips as a starter. They were so light and crispy but still moist, yummy. I loved how they were served with a yummy tartar sauce and in a paper sleeve. Hubby had the potato crusted grouper and I had to go with a lobster dish because, well, we were at Lazy Lobster after all. I went with an old school dish, the lobster thermidor. So delish! Both of our dishes were delicious. The vegetable we chose was brussels sprouts, but I didn't like them as they were not roasted to a nice caramelization even though I requested them to be well done and charred. I left them on my plate. One of the owners was so hands-on while we were there, clearing plates, making sure everybody was satisfied and saying hello. I really like that. I would recommend Lazy Lobster for sure. Be patient and wait for the patio, though. It only took about 30 minutes to be seated outside. Make reservations, too.

The elegance of the dining room atmosphere, the wait staff, and presentation of the food was not overlooked and executed to a level where you can tell the staff truly cares about the diner's experience. The pre fixe menu is simple enough to not get lost in, and wide enough to keep you coming back for more. Everything we ordered was delicious, unique, and contained a French twist. The special was tilefish, we ordered several kinds of seafood including lobster, crab, and snapper while I had the lamb saddle. Personally speaking the blue crab avocado appetizer was something I had to order because of all the pictures I had seen, and it did not disappoint. The romulade alongside the dish gave it a fresh, elegant bite which was rich but bright. The Colorado lamb saddle had the texture of a well prepared filet mignon perfectly baked inside of a puff pastry. I was calling it a lamb wellington for fun, but that may have been the most I have ever enjoyed a lamb dish. It was hearty, and perfectly balanced between tender meat, crisp crust, and savory sauce. The pineapple dessert was light, refreshing, and felt like a unique cross between a tangy desert and a sweet airy coconut whipped ice cream. I was however very jealous of the others that ordered the rich chocolate soufflé. 10/10. I would say this is a necessary experience for anyone that lives in the area.

I liked watching how well she moved around interacting and mixing drinks. Other customers were friendly and happy. It was just a nice place to belong. I looked forward to some food, specifically their Prime Rib Sliders. They weren't amazing but still good, and the three sliders were larger than I expected. There is street parking and a small private parking lot. I highly recommend reservations on the Resy app about 1-2 weeks in advance, as the restaurant is busy in winter. FOOD: You can choose between a la carte or the Prix Fixe menu. The Prix Fixe is a small-portioned three-course (bite, appetizer, and entrée) menu featuring some of our signature dishes. The Prix Fixe experience begins at $58 per person (there are additional add-ons) for dine-in only. 1. Waterzooi Soup (3/5; Red Farms chicken | caramelized leeks | carrots | local cream | focaccia toast | parsley emulsion | carrot purée): This is a Belgian soup. The serving size of the soup in the prix fixe was relatively small. The presentation was nice, and the chicken soup was a nice winter dish. The chicken broth was savory but at room temperature. 2. Autumn Salad (2/5; mixed artisanal greens | brûléed bucheron cheese | radicchio | toasted French walnuts | red grapes | fig balsamic vinaigrette): I felt like something was lacking from this seasonal autumn salad. It's OK for me, as I mostly ate the bucheron cheese with the grapes and walnuts. 3. Filet Mignon (4/5; seared | maître d'hôtel butter | red wine jus | truffle potato purée | asparagus (additions: sauce Choron, seared foie gras, Maine lobster tail, local exotic Petrichor mushrooms): It was cooked perfectly. This is a staple in the menu. I did not add any of the additionals. The service was great. Our water and drinks did not touch the bottom. The server came around often to check in and give his recommendations. If you want to do order pick up, it is available Tuesday-Saturday between 5 - 8 PM. Would I come back? Yes. I want to try other items on the menu.
