a plate of breakfast food with toast and eggs

Traveling over the holiday and always on the lookout for a good diner. Randomly pulled into this town and stopped here. This was a welcomed surprise as most options in this region are fast food/chains. The place looks like it was recently remodeled but heavily trafficked. It also appeared to be ran by family? We were seated immediately and were interested in their adverstised house prepared sausage. Breakfast is served all day. Service was quick and constant. My wife went with their omelette and I had eggs and homefries. The house sausage was more like kiebalsa but really tasty and smoky. The home fries were freshly made (not frozen) and done perfectly. The coffee was good but a little weak for my taste. They also prepare their own "shore bacon" which sounds delicious but we didn't get to try it this trip. Their dinner menu looks great with various homestyle offerings (e.g. chicken & waffles, meatloaf or roast beef) and a good burger menu. Overall, it was a great little gem. It's about 1 hour from our home and we plan to visit more often. Only deducted one star because we haven't got a chance to sample enough of their menu.

    Western omelet and crispy bacon

I was driving by and love visiting local diners! It was Sunday-after-church busy so I sat at the bar. It took a bit for the waitress to arrive and take my order. Luckily I had a lovely man to chat with during my wait - which was VERY long - 45 minutes! The food arrived finally hot and flavorful. I wouldn't recommend visiting on Sunday after church unless you are prepared to sit back, relax and wait... The server wasn't very attentive but I try to understand when there is a rush...

Almost passed it up but glad we stopped. Great food, service, and a small town warm feeling.

Nice big coffee cups filled with delicious coffee. And they have French vanilla creamers.

Great place, great food, awesome service. The eggs Benedict and the scrapple are a must and I love how they serve their coffee in big mugs! I've only enjoyed breakfast there which they serve all day but they had some great looking lunch and/or dinner items on the menu.

Amazing French toast. Crispy bacon. And perfect eggs.

(They've partnered with a local shop I was told). *Very sweet waitress. *I had the freshest salad ever as my side with homemade dressing I believe. *My husband said his wings were awesome. Fresh oil, fresh wings and not breaded the way he likes. The not so good: *Weirdly, my husband's wings came out after our entree. Glad our waitress didn't let the meal sit, but I've never had that happen unless I was in an ethnic restaurant where they don't really understand the appetizer concept. Husband didn't care - he'll take his wings for breakfast, but that's a basic error in a kitchen where there's very few people in the restaurant. * We both ordered RibEye steaks, which were the special for the day. We upgraded to the tune of 7.00 plus each because we didn't want fries. That's fine BUT - we are 99% sure we were served strip steaks instead. The steaks were fine, a nice size - we think they might have been frozen, but not a deal killer at all. We ate without complaint. But they were not Rib-eye. Funny we each didn't say anything to each other until we were in the car in the way home. We haven't been out in months and didn't want to "spoil" our "out day" by whining about a steak. * No masks to be seen despite Pennsylvania Governor ordering them inside and outside. We are coming from the epicenter, and though this Pennsylvania county has a low rate- it made us uncomfortable. I like the place- I would eat there again- but they have a little fine tuning to do to be spectacular.

I stumbled across The Farmer's Table last night on yelp, and perused through the breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I was intrigued! So tonight, I took a trip to Blossburg, and was impressed by the restaurant's cleanliness, the friendly staff, and the atmosphere that I would describe as modern farm- chic. The food- fresh and delicious! There were several options on the menu....it was difficult to decide! I went with the almond, cranberry, grilled chicken salad with a balsamic vinaigrette- the dish that initially caught my eye. My guest ordered a ribeye steak and was impressed by its taste and overall quality! If you are passing through Blossburg, or simply wish to support a small business, please stop by The Farmer's Table and give it a taste!

This is not going to be an easy review to write. I have so many conflicting thoughts and…read morefeelings... reviewing a restaurant should never be this dramatic! Seriously though... speaking as someone who was a partner in two restaurants in NYC for 4 years, who does not claim to "know it all" but knows some tricks of the trade... I think they've got great potential and would like to share my thoughts with them. Saying they've "got potential" probably come across as smug, obnoxious, and ridiculous, especially because they've got like 4.6 stars here on Yelp! And that's mainly why I found myself here... Staying in Mansfield for the night, I looked up restaurants that were enroute to our hotel. Some of them had 3 or 3.5 stars and I said "no way." But 4.6 stars with as many reviews as The Farmer's Table has? Absolutely! The atmosphere is a little bit diner but cozy enough and has the farm as a theme. There are some cool design elements, like the steel ceiling, the tables... The bathroom was clean and well stocked, and that's a really good sign that the place is sanitary and organized. The waitress was really, really nice... and we loved that we were in this tiny little town and yet she had this really cool, funky image. Great fingernails! I'm jealous! A tip for her to make service even better... think about sequence of service. Think about the extras that the customer will want with the specific thing they ordered so that they won't have to bother you. If they order something with fries, definitely put ketchup on their table, and do it before the food is delivered. There were also a lot of empty tables with salt shakers, but it's had none. Some customers notice these little things and appreciate a server who anticipates their needs. On the other hand, maybe she was just really slammed busy before we got there. My wife and I waited like 2 minutes for her to take my order and she apologized profusely for having us wait so long for her. I was like, "am I in Manhattan or wut???" She was on point, generally easy to find when we needed her, she was never trying to hide from customers (a huge no-no) and very well-intentioned. Definitely a keeper. The food though... I was surprised we didn't like it very much being the reviews were so good. When I got the check to pay, I asked the server what their most beloved and popular dishes are. She said that ppl order a lot of the prime rib sandwich, and also the cat fish. Incidentally, I had ordered the prime rib sandwich, and my wife had the breaded cat fish. I was expecting a lot more meat on my sandwich, and the bun was just a regular burger bun, but it was ok. It came with 3 slices of pickle and cost $11.90. I was still hungry after that so I finished my wife's catfish 'cuz she gets full easily. I liked the catfish more, but neither of us thought it was anything special. What was special were the prices. The catfish included 2 sides, and it cost less than $14. Being from NYC, it was so refreshing to see pricing that reminded me of year 2000! A burger for $7.85 that's not Burger King? Incredible! But the cole slaw... ewww. I didn't hate it, but I kind of forced myself to eat it even though it had a strange flavor. The sweet potato fries were ok. Everything was basically O.K. I imagine that, if I lived there, I would go pretty regularly cuz it's probably the best thing the neighborhood has in a few square miles, and it's easier and more fun than cooking at home (if you're not a cook and you're busy at work). But I think that some improvement in the food could make the place more of a destination. And a destination could actually bring more business to the surrounding businesses! I can understand if the townspeople want very basic food there, but at least offer a few specials that are fancier, better ingredients, something that stands out and is memorable. I know I'm spoiled coming from NYC... a 4.6 star review in places like Manhattan are different than a 4.6 star review in a small town. But this place has some nice things about it. Take it all the way!

The Sawhorse Cafe, Williamsport Pa…read more The breakfasts are pretty good, as is the coffee. I'd say a 5 or possibly 6 out of 10. The space is small and cramped, with an unfriendly "woke" vibe. I've gone there on and off for a few years hoping the vibe might change to be more welcoming, but It hasn't. The last time I was there, I brought my wife for a relaxing breakfast together. There was one table left. I put my phone on the table and got in line to order our food, so when the food comes up we aren't standing there holding our food trying to eat standing up. The two girls in line in front of us waiting to order did the same exact thing, as their 2 purses were on a table and were in front of me in line, as did another man that I know was in line with his hat on a table. However, they decided to humiliate and embarrass us, telling us to take our things off the table and order first before taking a table. Even though we've done it many times before and most people do. We unfortunately were their petty examples of the day. We got out of line and left and spent our money at another breakfast spot that is equally as good or better, without the stress, humiliation and woke attitudes. We will never be back to The Sawhorse Cafe in Williamsport Pa, and I will be sure to tell my circle of friends about my unpleasant experience so they can too decide if they want to eat there. Maybe with less people coming in, we can help your seating dilemma.
