Random shopping cart #2 at Wayne ShopRite.

If you love trying to push shopping carts that feel like they have square wheels, and sound like a clickety-clack freight train, then you'll love the Inserra ShopRite of Wayne Hills Mall in Wayne, NJ. An extensive investigation by our shopping cart forensic team has revealed that the "square wheel" situation is largely limited to the single wheel on each shopping cart that has a radio frequency activated brake, designed to lock up the wheel if you attempt to leave the store without paying for your groceries. The rubber tread on these locking wheels is falling apart, causing the issue (see photos), and the damaged wheels are not being replaced with new ones. And while we're on the subject, why can't the employees that collect the carts in the parking lot remove the trash that customers leave in the carts? The only explanation we've come up with is that as long as they are making money hand over fist, management just doesn't care about the customer experience. And complaining to the "customer service" desk gets you little more than a shrug, and a suggestion to call their corporate phone number. Truly disgusting.

1 human working the registers at 6 pm on a weekday while they force shoppers to do self-checkout. Notice the three employees standing around playing pocket pool while customers do the work for free? This is wrong. Just plain wrong.

The new Wayne Hills Mall location is gigantic and yet I was unable to find many of the regular items on my list. The place appeared to be clean and sanitary. I'm not going to cry about not getting a rousing reception by tired minimum wage workers who get talked down to every day as other sad yelpers have complained about.

Quick sort of healthy meal from our neighborhood shop rite.

Everything is great as usual - the new carts totally stink - the wheels don't work in cold weather and effects the shopping experience

Inventory is lousy along with price tags-placement sneaky/deceiving. Probably the worst ShopRite I've been to.

The Wayne Shoprite store manager called me and told me to come in and he refunded the money I paid for the meat that was bad.

I then specified "bacon lettuce and tomato with chicken cutlet", lest the "B" in BLT get missed. Lo and behold , there was no bacon on my sandwich. The chicken cutlet was also cold. I didn't realize chicken cutlet is a cold sandwich so maybe that's my fault for not specifying again, but then why did it take 20 minutes if you weren't heating chicken and clearly not cooking bacon? The bread also tasted like week old plastic. The price of a sandwich chips and drink was so astronomical, over $20? I could go to a restaurant and get real, hot, decent food for that price. Next time just go to jersey mikes. I gave two stars because one seems mean but we will never be going here again.

This afternoon my wife purchased two portions of your "Harvest Chicken" from the hot foods counter. When she brought it home, we sat down expecting dinner. Instead, we were treated to what can only be described as a culinary experiment in dehydration. I didn't realize chicken could actually reach the texture of corrugated cardboard, but your staff has apparently mastered that technique. Large sections were so hard that even a fork had trouble getting through them, which is an impressive achievement if the goal was to create building materials rather than food. It's honestly a shame, because an animal had to give its life for that meal, only for it to be cooked into something no human should reasonably be expected to eat. I have seen more care put into kindergarten cooking projects. In the end, most of it went straight into the garbage, which seemed to be the most appropriate place for it. For comparison, a stop at Burger King would have been a noticeable upgrade in quality. You may want to take a look at what's happening behind that counter, because if this is the standard being served to customers, something has gone very wrong.

The lines were literally outside wrapped around the corner how the sandwiches were prepared and how unexpressive they were. The owner always had a smile regardless of this giant stand behind the counter and smiled at you it was warming. The sandwiches were ridiculously delicious. Let's just see if you want lettuce sandwich with a little bit of meat you go to bogey hoagie. Don't know how it is now they have a pizzeria working anymore, but I haven't been there in two years because the portions have changed regardless of who's in the White House or not. if you're gonna raise the price raise the price but don't change the portions. I personally believe that greed has ruined this establishment. The sandwiches are still good, but the portions are shit. And if you order a cheesesteak, God forbid. It's real steak but it looks like steak them in. They overcook it so it's almost like leather and God forbid you asked for onions and peppers or cheese cause you're gonna get charged extra for what a cheesesteak belongs with. I mean, the place looks nice inside, but it's a weird environment ever since it was sold. Enter at your own Will, but the portions are shit.
