I called to make an appointment the day before and she was extremely pleasant on the phone. When I arrived the next morning she greeted me with her beautiful smile. Her shop is bright and clean, very welcoming. My hair can be difficult to cut as I have some odd cow licks but she did an incredible job. She has such a bubbly personality and I really enjoyed our conversation. She even made me a coffee after my cut. I gave her a generous tip as her prices are so low. Thank you, Maggie!

It's Saturday morning, and my husband needed a haircut--fast. He had a very specific style in mind,…read moreand I remembered a classic little barbershop around the corner in Castro Valley that's been there for ages. We decided to give it a try. I've been sitting here for about 30 minutes, and fun fact: not a single woman has walked in--this place is definitely a guys' hangout spot! But here's the best part: my husband usually spends 10 minutes explaining his haircut at other salons. This barber understood exactly what he wanted in less than a minute. That alone impressed both of us. Simple, quick, old-school, and the haircut was only $20 (tip not included). For the speed and quality? Totally worth it. If your guy needs a no-nonsense, clean cut from someone who just gets it, this spot is a solid choice.

When I checked in, they told me to come 40 minutes later as there were 3 people ahead of me. Made sense and I realized I should have called beforehand! I went for a quick workout and they were ready to take me at 2pm. The ladies were very nice and the person who cut my hair happened to speak cantonese so she gave me good tips on haircare and told me that my hair is so wavy that it won't stay straight despite her straightening several times. I told her what I wanted and she followed it to a tee and my haircut is so well done! For straightening hair and doing layers, it's $35 + tip. I think I found my new place to get my haircuts.

I went in a couple of weeks ago specifically to ask if they offered balayage, and I was told that…read morethey did. Based on that, I came in today expecting a balayage service. After spending about five hours there, the result was not balayage. My hair now has multiple different tones at the roots and looks more like uneven highlights. Balayage should not begin directly at the roots the way traditional highlights do. When I expressed concern, the hairstylist simply told me to be patient. She never apologized or acknowledged that the result was not what I had asked for. Instead, she made me feel as though it was somehow my fault because I had shown her several reference photos of balayage. What makes this even more upsetting is that my hair was completely virgin before this appointment. I trusted her with my natural hair, and now I am left with a result I never asked for. Throughout the appointment, she also repeatedly left me to work on other customers. Several times she told me she would be back in 10 minutes, but it ended up being more than 20 minutes. This happened at least three times. I am extremely disappointed with both the service and the way my concerns were handled. I would not recommend coming here!
